    GASPÉ | A seventy-year-old has walked some 800 kilometers separating Saint-Anne-de-Beaupré and Gaspé to raise funds to build a trail community in Chelsea, in the Outaouais region.

    Suzanne Cayer, age 71, has completed his course on the Friday night, arriving at Gaspé. “My gorgeous mum walked 800 km in the last 32 days! She told me (by phone) that she is very happy, as she feels in full form, and that the ability of his body to adjust to this great challenge, show off!”, explained the daughter of Mrs. Cayer, Tammy Scott, in a publication on the website Gofundme.

    In an interview with the Ottawa Citizen, Tammy Scott explained that his mother had first undertaken his project from a mere love for walking. It is in discussing with his daughter the amateur of hikes has decided to match the collection of funds in the market.

    To achieve to complete its journey, Ms. Cayer has travelled nearly 30 kilometres per day. However, in addition to large blisters, a resident of Chelsea, has completed his walk without injuries or major problems, has mentioned his daughter.

    The initial goal was to raise $ 1 per kilometre travelled. The generosity of the donors, however, has allowed the septuagenarian to harvest 1255 $, which will be invested in the conversion of an old railway line into a multi-use trail, Chelsea.
