RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP | The citizens of Rivière-du-Loup will never be caught unprepared : the City has just launched a card that lists twenty toilets where it is possible to stop to do their business without embarrassment.

The request came from families who were looking for the toilets with their children, and the elders, which prevented them sometimes to make long trips without knowing where the nearest public toilets.

There are public places, parks, but also cafes and even some car dealerships and veterinary clinics that have agreed to display a logo which clearly indicates that it is possible to stop just to use the toilet.

    For all

“This is an issue that has been raised as much for the families and for seniors. The idea is to get to know the places where you can go to the toilet without make you look weird, ” said the councillor of the municipality of Rivière-du-Loup Mario Bastille.

The latter indicates that the City is said to be part of a blank page to create his original map and quite unusual.

Citizens were invited to give their opinion throughout the process.

The card is aimed at both locals and tourists.

    On the internet

In addition to find the poster on the internet and in different public places in Rivière-du-Loup, each of the 20 places where the people who have a burning desire are welcome to display a logo.

“The inspiration comes from the logos that are place for staging breast-feeding. This is a logo that clearly says what it means,” says Karine Plourde in the communications Department of the City of Rivière-du-Loup.

The design and printing of the card as well as a guide of living environment for seniors cost 5000 $.
