In a few years, the market for SVOD and streaming has become the new Eldorado of the networks. Everyone wants his and the alliances of yesterday will perhaps rise to the rivalries of the future.

A few days ago, we learned that Netflix decided to cancel the series Iron Fist. Not necessarily a bad news because the flatness of the show but may be the first movement towards the inevitable spin-off Marvel – Netflix saw that Disney plans to launch its own streaming website, by 2019 and to recover all of its licenses and productions at its exclusive disposal.

Mike Colter is Luke Cage

A decision that caused a big doubt on the fate of the sisters of the series, even if, very quickly, the network was reassuring about their future. It will, therefore, have not had to wait 72 hours for this claim is contradicted by a new decision. We come to learn, via the website, The Live Feed, that it is now the turn of Luke Cage to be canceled after two seasons. It would seem that this is due to an inability between the two parties to agree on the terms of the season 3, as well as on the creative plan. This, however, has not prevented Netflix and Marvel released a joint press release to announce the bad news :

Aaaah, it was the right time

“Unfortunately, Luke Cage will not come back for a season 3. All the people Marvel and Netflix are grateful to the showrunner, the writers, the cast and the team who have brought the hero of Harlem to life for two seasons, and to all the fans who have supported the series.”

A statement that looks more like an admission of failure than anything else and that proves, really, as of yet, no series, Marvel is free on Netflix. The only question remains : Who will be the next ?
