The series on the absurdity of war by George Clooney arrives in may next year.

Netflix continues to dominate the market of SVoD with its many original creations in the world. In 2018, according to the figures of TV Time, 19 of the 20 series streamées in the world have been on Netflix. The only series that managed to intrude is The Handmaid”s Tale (fifth in the ranking of abundance), of Hulu.

Only Hulu seems to be able to compete at a minimum with Netflix. It must be said that the platform (only available in the United States) offers since a few years of beautiful original creations : 22.11.63, Future Man, The First, Into the Dark , or The Looming Tower. Before tackling The Devil in the White City with Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio, the platform will release another series : Catch-22. A teaser has been unveiled.

While we wait with great anticipation to the series to the writing, these first images foretell exactly what we imagined. With the madness surrounding this teaser featuring a very large black humour and cynicism deep, the series produced by George Clooney looks particularly absurd. In the light of the last film of actor-director George Clooney Welcome to Suburbicon, you should certainly find an atmosphere coennienne in Catch-22. The series will also be spectacular to believe the aerial images very tantalizing.

As a reminder, the series will tell the story of Yossarian (Christopher Abbott), a bomber of the US Air Force during the Second world War that’s going to try to pretend to be crazy in order to stay on the ground and avoid a probable death.

The series is based on the eponymous novel by Joseph Heller published in 1961. It had already been the subject of a film adaptation with Catch-22 by Mike Nichols. The series Hulu will, without doubt, a ferocious critic of the u.s. army, a portrait very incisive about America, a satire of the talking heads, and overall, a pamphlet on the absurdity of war.

Catch-22 will enjoy a great cast with George Clooney, Christopher Abbott but also Kyle Chandler, Hugh Laurie, Lewis, Pullman, or Julie Ann Emery. It will be released on Hulu on may 17 and will include six episodes. No release date is known in France for the moment.
