If DC Comics has all the sorrows of the world to exist properly at the cinema, on tv it is a whole other story. And this is not the end seen the series that await us next year.

Yes, as soon as we talk about tv, and super-heroes, force is to note that it is DC Comics that dominates Marvel. No consolation of course, but that proves that when it has found a formula, the company knows how to exploit it. And yet, as the studio prepares a big blow to 2019 with the DC Universe, a new digital platform that should offer us a host of new programs including a new series based on the character of Swamp Thing.

And it is indeed the project that has caught our attention the announcement of the platform. On the one hand, because the character is very interesting and has never had an adaptation worthy of the name, and on the other hand, because this is none other than James Wan, who should be in charge. So, obviously, this deserves a little clarification. James Wan is the producer and the creative director and there has never been a question of more up to what the Hashtag Show does spread a few hours ago, a rumor according to which the director in would also create the pilot episode.

A logical follow-up to more of a title, but that turns out to be completely false, as just confirm the site Bloody Disgusting after having asked confirmation to a source close to the production. So, no, James Wan will not realize the driver of Swamp Thing, aka The Creature of the Swamp , but would nevertheless be very involved in the series since it would shape the tone, the universe, the characters and stories, which is already a lot.

James Wan (right huh)

And this series, Swamp Thing, slated for release somewhere in 2019, we will talk about Abby Arcane, a scientist who works for the government and returns to the place where she grew up, to Houma, Louisiana, to investigate a deadly virus. It flashes on the scientist Alec Holland, who is not slow to disappear mysteriously while, shortly after, the marais seems to be inhabited by a strange creature.

In short, all the ingredients seem to be put together to make a series at least interesting and we really hope that this will be the case, because Swamp Thing is clearly one of the characters in the most tragic and the most exciting of the DC universe and you can’t say he has been lucky hitherto in his few appearances on a screen.

Yeah, that’s what…
