URBANISM. The arrival of the IKEA department store in the Duplessis area will have a major ripple effect. The owner of the targeted land, Cominar, intends to take advantage of this prestigious presence in order to create the largest commercial center in Québec City.

Nearly $ 300 million is being invested to develop this vast 5 million square foot space, located west of the Duplessis Expressway (540) and south of the Charest Highway (40). Development work is expected to begin next spring.

The Swedish furniture giant IKEA plans to build a 340,000-square-foot warehouse with a value of $ 100 million in Quebec City. The inauguration is announced for the summer of 2018 and will mark a return of the banner, after his departure from Lebourgneuf in 1996.
