Game of Thrones season 7: Liam Cunningham talks about Davos’ crucial role in the series

A few months before the arrival of season 7 of Game of Thrones on our small screens, Liam Cunningham returned to the importance of Davos in the series.

While Kit Harington spoke of the possibility of Jon Snow being Azor Ahai in the sequel to Game of Thrones , it is now Liam Cunningham, alias Davos Seaworth, to talk about the importance of his character. In an interview with Says, the British actor touched on the subject of morality in the series which, as we know, brings together many ambiguous characters whose motives are sometimes blurred . This is what makes its strength even since the most wicked possess some redeeming traits that show that they are, after all, only humans. ” There are a lot of morally ambiguous people in Game of Thrones so some people stand out to speak on behalf of the viewers, and I think that’s what Davos and Samwell Tarly do. They represent a bit of the consciousness of the series ” .
Indeed Davos often intervened as the voice of reason when the characters with whom he interacts, notably Stannis Baratheon or Melisandre, are allowed to take a little too much to carry. Yet this eternal morality also means that Davos is surely more in danger than many other characters since it is well known that Game of Thrones does not reward those who do what is right , is not it Ned . But no worries, Liam Cunningham has the solution for his character to be safe. Although he still refuses to reveal anything about the sequel – he simply stated that “Davos is alive at the end of Season 6 and that’s all I’ll tell you” – he nevertheless explained : “Most of the time, the others get the bad news before they get the script, so the producers take them to dinner before. So I will not go to dinner with the producers!” A flawless solution which, in any case, makes us hope that Davos will survive in the sequel.
