The followers of the “fast food” will be happy. The high-intensity exercise helps protect the body from the harmful effects of the large amount of fat, salt and sugar in junk food, according to a study in montreal.

For two weeks, 15 young men have had to eat Mcdonald’s morning, noon and night — for this study, published Friday in the scientific journal Nutrients, by three researchers from the University of Quebec in Montreal.

“The weight of young people has remained stable, but an increase in muscle mass was observed. In our next studies, we want to know if women or older people would contribute as well to this kind of study, ” says Christian Duval, professor, and researcher.

    Eat free

For the study, the men had to perform on a daily basis of the high-intensity exercise, by intervals, on a treadmill. The participants all kept a good health. Only a man saw a decrease of good cholesterol.

“It is necessary for the person to do a sport that takes a lot of effort for a short time, like doing a sprint of 60 seconds, for example, and then reduce the intensity and that it will end with a walk, and she repeated these two exercises several times after eating in a fast food,” explains Antony Karelis, a researcher and professor in the Department of physical activity sciences.

Guinea pigs, whose age is between 18 and 30 years old, had to eat a trio even in the morning. Christian Duval said that the guinea pigs were happy to eat free of charge, despite the fact that it was junk food.

“Every morning, some of us were eating a Big Mac with fries and a Coke, and some were taking a Mc Muffin with an orange juice and a potato roast. And they began noon, and night, all the time without stopping. “

The intensive sport has become the trend because of its effectiveness to burn more calories in record time.
