Justice League: The return of Martha Kent teased by Diane Lane

Cinema 22 April, 2017

We suspected this but now we know for sure. Martha Kent, played by Diane Lane in Batman v Superman and Man of Steel, will be back in Justice League!
We can not repeat it enough: there are some good people in Justice League ! We can count not only on our 5 superheroes – 6 if we count the missing Superman – on their opponents, but also … on their entourage! Family, friends, distant relationships … all these characters related to Batman and company always find a way to interfere somewhere. And among those awaiting (re) seeing Justice League , in addition to Commissioner Gordon, there is of course Martha Kent, the adoptive mother of our favorite Kryptonian . If the poor woman apparently loses her son, after having already lost her husband, it would seem that she does not intend to hide from the rest of the world. Because yes, Diane Lane, Who interpreted the character in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman , confirmed that she would still be in the game. Here she is joining Michael McElhatton, the delightfully detestable Roose Bolton of Game of Thrones, casting Justice League . In itself, this is not a surprise, of course. But hey, we’re still glad to know. Diane Lane confirmed the news in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and took the opportunity to come back to the famous scene of Batman v Superman in which Superman appealed to the memory of Martha Wayne to make reason listen to his opponent. The actress first asserted that she would be back in the role of Martha Kent in Justice League , saying: ” I do not think I have the right to say much, but it was good for me, very Selfishly, to be reunited with others and to meet new characters . ” And among the new characters, Diane Lane would be well replied to Nicole Kidman ( who would’nt, right ?), Who lends his features to Atlanna, mother of Aquaman. It must be said that between two mothers of superheroes, one can understand one another ! On the other hand, it does not specify what role it holds in Justice League even if, in Melty, it is suspected that it should not be very, very important. Unless of course Superman does not turn on the dark side by the duet Steppenwolf-Darkseid, which remains a possibility, and that it is the only one capable of bringing it back to reason . Which brings us to the famous, often ridiculous, scene of Batman v Superman . Diane Lane defends the sequence by emphasizing the empathic nature of Superman’s reply: ” This is the compassion we feel for a man who has lost his mother. Can work better with them. ” That’s what it says! Martha Kent herself should also go through a hell of an emotional roller coaster when Superman returns to Justice League ! What do you think ?
