Last night, FX was broadcasting Episode 1 of Legion, the first series from the X-Men franchise! What is it worth?
Where is the truth ? Last night, the US cable channel FX aired the first season of Legion, after the first series of the world of the X-Men franchise, for which we dévoilions you crossed several teasers . This first episode, which lasted more than an hour, laid the foundation for an ambitious series from many points of view. First, it is visually impressive. Indeed, because of the state of David, it continues to be a victim of visions, which transitions from one universe to another is purely fascinating . Sometimes David no longer knows what is true of what is false and as a viewer, we are in the same state. We also note that the actors are passionately committed to their role, all give a palpable strength to their characters, which makes the whole very realistic, captivating and endearing. We have to offer a special mention to Dan Stevens, who gives body to the perturbed David. Beyond the visual effects, the quality of the actors’ games and the sharp scenario, we are confronted with a series possessing a lot of humor, which allows it despite a rather dark theme to be a pure moment of pleasure. Love is also at the rendezvous for David, which should finish convincing a certain part of the public, fond of romance.
It goes without saying that we are very far from the world we encounter in other super-heroic comic book series drawn . A good point showing that Hollywood is not out of creativity. Here, the tone is much more adult, the universe much more anchored in reality and the danger much more frightening. Like any series of superheroes, it takes an introduction to the central character and here it is good and beautiful. Through David’s adolescence, we move from confusion to juvenile delinquency. We understand his discomfort, he hears voices and sees things, which lead to psychotic episodes involving some telekinetic fireworks. All leading to a suicide attempt caused by a particularly explosive eruption in his sister’s kitchen, which sent waltz pans and knives to the four corners of the room. Beyond this successful starting point, the whole season premiere is provided with ingenious flashbacks, sometimes difficult to locate, which make it possible to better understand the history of our new hero. Finally, note that Legion respects tradition X-Men to couple the mutation with a real problem : in this case, mental health. The metaphor, which has always been used in comics, is a good cover for any marginalized people and it is fashionable to see it use correctly with the series.
In conclusion, it is a very good introductory episode which was offered to us to see, a chapter laying the foundations of an ambitious series which should not fail to surprise us by its twists and situations sometimes funny, sometimes dramatic . We have to show the last moments, which is certainly one of the best superhero scenes ever made: The escape of the team is exciting, fun and creative, and above all, it is based on the characters . As of now, the promotion of the next episode, simply titled “Chapter 2” begins. Thus, we discovered that the synopsis tells us that “David thinks about his past with the help of new friends” and a first promo video for the remainder of the season reaches us. This one announces episodes mixing action, humor, danger, romance, family, power and a good dose of madness! If you like the particular universe, know that The OA was officially renewed for season 2 with a first teaser! What did you think of this first season?
