Listeriosis: advisory not to eat the “roast beef cooked”

    OTTAWA – The company Erie Meat Products is conducting a recall of the “roast beef cooked, seasoned” brand Druxy”s Fresh Deli Revolution, because this product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

    The affected product was sold in various restaurants Druxy”s Famous Deli, in the province of Ontario. It was cut and served without a label or code, but with the mention “best before 2018AL09”.

    The people who believe they have been ill after consuming this product should contact their doctor.

    The canadian food inspection agency (CFIA) says that “food contaminated with the bacterium Listeria monocytogenes, are not necessarily of alteration visible or smell suspicious, but can still make you sick”.

    The CFIA stresses of illness that may be associated with the consumption of this product have been reported. Laboratory analyses are ongoing to confirm the link.
