Tom Hiddleston will be entitled to its own series on Disney+.

After Thor, the Avengers, Thor : The World of darkness and Thor : Ragnarok, the career of the magician of cosmic Loki seemed to end in Avengers : Infinity War. It was without counting on the factory-Marvel sponsored by Disney, which has found a reason to revive Tom Hiddleston in the star of the MCU.

Loki will get his own series, just like Scarlett Witch and the Vision, the Falcon and the Soldier of the winter, and perhaps Sif, on the service of SVoD Disney+ which will be launched in 2019 – to counter Netflix, it goes without saying. And it’s the one with Tom Hiddleston who seems to be a priority since this series yet-untitled has found its showrunner, and reveals first details.

When your friends are at the cinema and you, on Disney+

This is Michael Waldron, who will therefore be in the book behind the series focused on Loki, which he wrote the pilot in addition to being the creator and executive producer of the thing. A name not without significance, since the mister passed on Rick and Morty, the cult series by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon in which he will produce the new season. He was also a writer on the series HarmonQuest.

The spirit of Rick and Morty makes sense since the first details on the adventures of Loki the kingdom of Disney+ let clearly imagine a variation of Doctor Who. The series would follow as well the brother to be unhappy Thor, who appears throughout the History of humanity, in order to influence events. And to prove that, it is probably not so bad that it’s at the bottom.

Next on the list, Marvel at Disney+

A priori, the events of’the Avengers : Infinity War on the side of Loki would not therefore be affected. Unless by then, the Avengers : Endgame and Captain Marvel are changing things with these stories of time travel.

The series on Loki would be the first series Marvel truly integrated into the MCU, headed by Kevin Feige, with ambitions to the height of success. Because even if there was sometimes bridges or appearances notable, Marvel : Agents of S. H. I. E. L. D., Marvel’s Runaways, or even Daredevil and his friends in The Defenders, (all more or less buried on Netflix), are hitherto stayed in their small area.

Disney+ will be launched in the fall of 2019 in the United States, with an ambition obvious : to combat the giant Netflix. Disney has already invested large sums in order to impose, including the series Star Wars The Mandalorian, the colossal budget of 100 million.

After the releases of Captain Marvel (march 6), Avengers : Endgame (April 24) and Spider-Man: Far from Home (3 July), Marvel may, therefore, occupy the end of the year with Disney+.
