Died at the age of 46 years last January 15 in his hotel room in London, Dolores O’riordan died of an overdose of drugs as indicated in the Santa Monica Observer. She would have died of an overdose of Fentanyl, an opioid analgesic powerful found at the foot of his bed in his room. This drug, used as a painkiller, is often prescribed in the United States. Distributed since the 1960s, Fentanyl is used to relieve the pain related to diseases such as cancer for example, but also to substitute for heroin. A drug is both powerful and dangerous, which wreaked havoc across the Atlantic.

In fact, Dolores O’riordan is clearly not the only celebrity to have succumbed to this excessive intake of this medicine. The singer Prince, who died in April 2016 died as a result of this overuse. A few months later, it is the rocker Tom Petty, who passed away suddenly due to a lethal combination of several substances, including Fentanyl. Ditto for the american rapper Lil Peep died of an overdose of alprazolam (Xanax) and Fentanyl. The latter was also prescribed to Michael Jackson prior to his death. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), not less than 5 152 people have died of a drug overdose in Fentanyl in 2016 in the United States.
