Russia called on to deal with the rights of sexual minorities before the 2018 world Cup : the World : Vladim

Lawmakers of Belgium argue that the situation in Russia with the protection of the rights of sexual minorities looks very grim, and therefore before the upcoming world Cup should significantly improve. As you know, the tournament will take place in 11 cities of Russia.

 

A proposal by the Belgians was published in the draft resolution for the world Cup and introduced in the Parliament. In particular, in Belgium, is widely known for his extreme liberal views on same-sex relationships, encourages the government of Russia in the near future “quickly and efficiently” to improve the situation with observance of rights of sexual minorities.

Europeans believe that Russia should repeal the Federal law banning propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations among minors, which in practice is allegedly only lead to discrimination of sexual minorities. The Belgians are also demanding that the Russian government bring to justice the instigators of violence motivated by homophobia.

It is also interesting that the similar situation already happened before the Olympic games of 2014, which was held in Sochi. The Western world then also sounded the alarm about the situation in Russia with the rights of gays and lesbians.
