The science-fiction really has the wind in its sails at this time on the small screen and The Peripheral is about to be added to the long list of series of this kind.

Altered Carbon, Lost in space, Star Trek : Discovery, The Handmaid”s Tale, Counterpart, 3% or even Westworld, the science fiction is more than ever delivery to the taste of the day, we do not know really why, but we will not spit on it. And just speaking of Westworld, the new season may be imminent (indeed, it was seen the first episode), its creators have not been sitting idly.

The couple Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan (absolutely, that is his brother) is actively in the process of developing another series which has just been bought by Amazon.

Amazon has it found its new Man in the High Castle ?

The Peripheral will adapt the novel of the same name by William Gibson (the following Agency is also on the way out). Set in a near future (well, several actually), it tells the story of Flynne and her brother Burton, who is investigating a murder. The novel unfolds on several timelines and different queries on the report to reality… such as Westworld , in fact.

Several platforms have struggled to obtain the rights it seems, but Amazon has won the battle, probably anxious not to let slip the creators of the success of Westworld in the competition. That’s all there is to know for the moment, but it would appear that Amazon has put the hand on the successor of The Man in The High Castle.
