The Deuce, the series on the rise of the porn industry, will return in early September in France for his second season with James Franco and Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The new series HBO signed by the duo David Simon (thewire, Treme) and George Pelecanos has been one of the biggest blows to the heart of the year 2017 on the small screen. Even if it was rooted in the New York of the seventies, The Deuce is stated as a fresco in the social realism is captivating and the subject timeless.

We are impatient, therefore, to have news of this second season since last November. But since the controversy over the actor James Franco, the subject of accusations of méconduites sexual, in the beginning of the year, the show no longer gave signs of life. At least, before this Tuesday and a tweet from the channel to announce the broadcast date of the season 2.

It’s 1978. Punk, disco and porn. The City never sleeps.

So discover Maggie Gyllenhaal in a new york street in the snow, always in the skin of Candy. His character went from prostitute to actress-producer of porn in season 1, and should see a nice evolution in these new episodes. Another tweet reveals a James Franco a little more hairy, in the skin of one of the two twins.

Beyond the two main characters of the series, the tweet indicates that this second season will take place in 1978 and will celebrate the New York punk. A piece of information that proves that the plan prepared by David Simon follows quietly its course. In fact, he had said this a few months ago : “From the beginning, the plan was to cover 14 years. The first season it is 1971-1972 and the dawn of the porn. The second is 1977-78-79 or something like that. And then, season 3 will be in the mid 80’s (1984-1985)”

In short, the season 2 of The Deuce will be arriving on HBO on September 9, and will be broadcast in the US+24 on OCS in France from the September 10, 2018. Strongly.
