All’s well That ends well ? And yes the meltynauts, it would have been almost impossible to think that it could end otherwise. Indeed, if you are fans of musicals, you know that this very particular kind ends most often on a joyous or even euphoric note. And that’s exactly what happened last night in this musical crossover. But then, successful bet or real failure? While Melty’s editorial offered you to discover our criticism of the season’s episode 16 of The Flash , let’s take a look at Duet, broadcast last night on the CW . And we’re not going to lie, we’re starving. If the episode itself was far from being a catastrophe – Perhaps, we remember with horror the musical episode of Gray’s Anatomy – there was enough to be quite frustrated. By deciding not to use Supergirl to start the plot, the producers ended up with a very short window to make us adhere to their universe. The songs are successful, the actors are extremely talented, the scenery splendid and the choreographies excellent but everything was shipped to the point that the end, as moving as it was, seemed to us extremely easy. Yes, the production team had every reason to let the crossover unfold exclusively in The Flash but we can not get rid of this feeling of unfinished business . But let’s get back to the main plot. After two failures in love, Barry and Kara found themselves in a musical comedy. The Music Meister, who seems to know everything about them, sent them into this world without any real explanation. Although he is often fought throughout the episode, he does not appear threatening or determined to seize the city. He wants to teach them a lesson . But what? Our heroes were about to discover it. Barry and Kara soon realize that Mon-El and Iris aka Tommy and Milly are in love but they hide so much they are afraid of the reaction of Their respective fathers. A wonderful surprise in this respect, Elsewhere we loved the couple formed by Stein and Joe. Unhappy at the thought of seeing their love happy with someone else, they nevertheless end up helping them realize their mistakes in the process. But none of the fathers intend to accept the union of their children plunging the musical into a gang war. Here are our two heroes put down! But where the problem is, it will simply have been enough for Mon-El and Iris to embrace them to free them. Union of their children plunging the musical into a gang war. Certainly it was a beautiful metaphor that was perfectly in tune with the theme of the musical … if it had intervened a little later or after a crossover of two hours. But we would be really unjust if we stopped at that. It was a great performance. The opportunity to blow a good blow between two intrigues very trying and we must admit that the dynamics of Barry and Kara still works as well. “Duet” was a real show, and we are still stunned by the talent of Jeremy Jordan (Winn) . Rather to classify on the side of the successes, this episode has proposed us an ingenious mixture of songs and d ‘ Action to keep us busy throughout “Duet” . Of particular note is Barry’s ballad. A melody and very moving words that allowed her to renew her engagement. And clearly, Darren Criss had deeply missed us! One thing is certain, this episode will remain as one of the best of the kind even if that of Buffy remains an incredible reference in the matter. Vive next week and the return of Savitar.
