The south Korean filmmaker, known for his thrillers, drama and psychological landed this time in the world of the small screen with The Little Drummer Girl.

The Little Drummer Girl this is the first project from director Park Chan-wook for the tv. Vintage, simple, with a few touches of color to bring out her heroine of its architectural decor, Greek, the general plastic of the series already looks very nice.

Add to that, a casting quite a gratin composed of Florence Pugh (The Young Lady), Michael Shannon (the Shape of The water), and Alexander Skarsgård in what will be his most important role since Big Little Lies (even if it is passed by the Mute , and No man nor god), and you get the very promising project of Park Chan-wook.

The Little Drummer Girl follows the story of Charlie (Florence Pugh), an actress whose misadventures of vacation will drive in a straight role fatally dangerous intelligence agent in the world. In the course of his epic, the girl is going to do the meeting of Becker (Alexander Skarsgård), an agent of israel, and Kurtz (Michael Shannon), the dangerous and enigmatic boss of Becker. A game of manipulation, false pretenses, connations violent and sometimes erotic which fits perfectly to the cinematic style of the director.

In reality the project is a new adaptation (the second to be exact) from the novel by John Le Carré : the Little Girl with The drum. In 1984, the director George Roy Hill had delivered a first adaptation of the novel by setting the scene, Diane Keaton Sami Frey, and Klaus Kinski. For the time being we do not have more information about the mini-series comprised of six episodes from the director of Old Boy, Stoker and, more recently, of Miss.

The Little Drummer Girl is expected for the 19, 20 and 21 November on AMC. The release date in France is for the moment still not known.
