While Season 7 episode 13 of The Walking Dead was broadcast last night on AMC, let’s get back together on the major events that have marked “Bury Me Here”!
Finally a click for the Kingdom! And yes the meltynauts, after having long closed their eyes on the terrible acts of the Saviors in order to protect themselves, the Kingdom is now determined to put an end to the terrifying reign of Negan. While Melty’s review of Season 7 Episode 12 of The Walking Dead in which Rick was paying tribute to Glenn , let’s review the main events that marked “Bury Me Here” aired Last night on AMC . And the least we can say is that nothing happened as we had planned. For if we thought that this episode would be centered on Carol and her long awaited return to Alexandria, Is finally Morgan which was the focal point of “Bury Me Here” . Adept at non-violence and compromise, Morgan has always been the moral compass of other characters trying to calm Rick’s ardor or protecting Carol’s secret with fervor. Yes, but Morgan did not forget anything. Neither the death of his son nor his inability to react when his wife was transformed, everything is still present and it is with infinite sadness that Morgan has reached its limit . Perhaps we had underestimated his relationship with Benjamin and what he represented in his eyes? Still, this unjust and unexpected death caused Morgan a tumult. It must be said that what was to be a routine meeting between the Saviors and the Kingdom turned into a bloodbath. While the tension was at its height – especially because Richard always seems to want to provoke the men of Negan – the situation became worse when the Saviors discovered that one of the twelve claimed was missing a melon. Despite the entreaties of King Ezekiel, the promise to bring them more, Gavin does not want to hear anything and orders Jared to show them what they are capable of. As Richard watched his last hour arrive, it was finally Benjamin who was landed. A terrible shock for the whole group that has only one idea in mind: bring it back quickly in order to have a chance to save it. Unfortunately, Gavin may look softer, He remains Negan and it is without any scruple that he first asks Ezekiel to submit before he can leave. Precious seconds lost and which will not save Benjamin. And this is where Morgan shows us how much this young boy represented to him. They had almost a father / son relationship and he can not stand this injustice . Rarely had we seen Morgan put himself in such a state. But the worst is yet to come because he discovers that Richard is behind all this. It was he who delayed the group, he who dug his grave, he who dropped the melon that was going to set fire to powder. He did everything in his power to make the spark turn into a fire and the Kingdom finally decided to go into battle. The evolution of his character is very interesting passing from the faithful servant of the King to a “madman” able to risk his life to be forgiven his weakness of old. Even though his initiative was catastrophic, he nevertheless got what he wanted and it was ultimately the only thing that mattered to him. While the group was once again finding the Saviors to bring them the missing melon, Morgan let out his rage and strangled Richard with all the fury and sorrow he had kept in him for a while. Realizing that he can not advocate peace with such characters, he even decides to reveal the truth to Carol on Glenn and Abraham. A step that symbolizes the reversal of the general situation: the war is approaching and no one wants to avoid it . Carol fans can still rejoice as she decides to help Ezekiel prepare for what will be the highlight of the season. In short, this was a profound and decisive episode for the sequel. Feeling, ripping and very intelligent, “Bury Me Here” offers us a brilliant introspection of Morgan’s character. After that, we look forward to seeing the rest.
