Siwa compared the look to Harry Styles’ viral 2020 cover in Vogue.

JoJo Siwa is getting candid about the “brutal” backlash she has faced for posing with a fake bulge for a recent magazine cover.

While appearing last week on the “Talk Tuah” podcast hosted by Haliey Welch, who’s known as the viral “Hawk Tuah Girl,” the singer and dancer said it was “really hard” being criticized for the viral photo shoot, in which she sported a bedazzled faux bulge.

“It’s brutal,” she told Welch. “It’s really hard. People are just dicks.”

In the September photo shoot for LadyGunn, Siwa also posed in a strapless, jeweled top featuring nipples and mock abs, which she paired with gold combat boots.

The “Dance Moms” alum explained her decision to don the controversial accessory.

“The stone bulge is — we were just giving a little spice, a little gender-bend, a little, you can be anything you want to be,” Siwa said. “It just was spicing myself up a little.”

Siwa then compared her sparkly bulge look to Harry Styles’ controversial Vogue cover in 2020, in which he wore several traditionally female garments, including skirts and dresses.

“It’s like back in the day when Harry Styles wore a dress,” Siwa noted. “Obviously, wearing a bulge is a little different than wearing a dress.”

Welch replied, “You stuck out. I think you should do more of that, though.”

Siwa explained that she likes to push boundaries and dabble in the “risk zone” with her ensembles.

“One thing about me is I like to be for the people that are different, for the people that don’t fit in and for the people who are just unafraid to take risks,” Siwa said. “I feel like being that person, I have to go as far as I possibly can into the risk zone. I have to explore the risk zone to see what it’s like.”

Last month, the “Karma” singer turned heads with yet another risqué fashion look at Christian Cowan’s New York Fashion Week show.

Siwa hit the Sept. 8 runway show dressed as a giant ball covered in black fur. She paired the leg-baring outfit with knee-high furry green boots and coordinating green makeup.

At the event, the former Nickelodeon star told E! News that she and her team have saved every single outfit she’s worn publicly since she was 9 years old.

“Everything that I’ve ever worn publicly, like for a music video, for a performance, we have in an archive,” Siwa told the outlet. “So I have it all saved, from the time I was 9 — everything I wore on TV. It’s way too many things. We got to clean it out one day.”
The post JoJo Siwa Opens Up About The ‘Brutal’ Backlash She Received For Controversial Magazine Cover first appeared on The Siver Times.

Salman Rushdie needed only a few pages of one of his novels to be in mortal danger. Having published «The Satanic Verses» in 1989, an excerpt from which Ayatollah Khomeini called blasphemy, the British author became the target of a fatwa according to which Tehran offered three million dollars to anyone who would shoot the writer.

On August 12, during a conference in New York State, Salman Rushdie was the victim of a brutal knife attack, which he survived after being taken to hospital by helicopter. However, he is not the only victim of this Iranian fatwa. Two of his translators were stabbed: Japanese Hitoshi Igarashi died of wounds, and Italian Ettore Capriolo survived.

Another Turkish translator was the victim of arson in 1993 in Sivas, Turkey. He managed to escape from the burning hotel, but 37 people died in the fire, including 33 intellectuals.

The attempted murder of Salman Rushdie reminds those who seemed to have forgotten that the fundamental freedoms of modern society, such as freedom of creativity and self-expression, are constantly under threat from totalitarian ideologies all over the world.

These hateful and contemptuous ideologies regarding these freedoms are based on political or religious theories whose self-proclaimed legitimacy raises questions. The case of Salman Rushdie makes us think about the place of religion and the sacred in our modern world.

If freedom of conscience gives everyone the right to think anything about the origin of the world and its creation, then the revealed truths of religions cannot impose their prescriptions on society as a whole. However, we have been observing for several years that religious practices have become more and more intrusive, authoritarian when they do not pose a threat. This drift seriously undermines the delicate balance of democratic societies and creates an atmosphere of insecurity, intimidation and violence that is no longer acceptable.

Any speech criticizing a religious dogma, even the most insignificant, immediately comes under attack by death threats, and citizens, fearing for their lives, prefer to give up the freedom of expression of their disagreement. This renunciation also affects the world of art and creativity, which has integrated this violence and prefers to engage in other, less deadly subjects. «No one will dare to publish the Satanic Verses today», – we have long heard about the work of Salman Rushdie.

This is the goal of religious fanatics: to dissuade with the help of terror from creating works that challenge their dogmas, which, nevertheless, are based on very little, namely, on several visions of great mystics.

Can our modern societies be built around texts written by exalted spirits? Nothing is sacred. The paradox is that today the mobilization to condemn the attack on Salman Rushdie seems stronger than the artists who continue to create works that will perpetuate the vision of the author of the «Satanic Verses». Because after all those who have already been killed, like Theo Van Gogh, and those who were stabbed during conferences, like Salman Rushdie, who will remain to continue their reflections and their struggle?
The post Numerous Fatwa victims against «Satanic Verses» first appeared on The Siver Times.

Think of the Earth (…) . There are people who are destroying the Earth, think about it. All artists, think about the Earth. That’s why I did it. Think about the planet. This is what was claimed by the man who on Sunday, May 29, threw a cake on the Gioconda in the Louvre, in Paris.

Photos or videos did not record the incident itself, but on Monday the museum explained how the incident unfolded:

«The visitor simulated the situation of a disabled person in order to use a wheelchair and approach the work installed in a protected showcase. The Louvre applied its usual procedures for people with disabilities, allowing them to admire this main work of the Louvre. Installed next to the work, this man threw a cake at the Mona Lisa screen, which he hid in his personal belongings.

This throw did not affect the painting, which was not affected. The man was immediately captured and evacuated by reception and surveillance officers, and then handed over to the police, who arrived at the scene. The Louvre has filed a complaint».

The 36-year-old man who threw the cake was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital of the police department, and an investigation was launched into «attempts to damage cultural property», as we learned on Monday in the Paris prosecutor’s office. For her part, Mona Lisa stoically waited until she was washed and resumed her activities in front of the audience later.

With the number of visitors at 30,000 people a day, such an incident had to happen, again, at the most famous painting in the world. This entourage, in fact, is not his first misadventure: in 1911, the Mona Lisa was stolen by Vincenzo Perugia, an Italian glazier who participated in the work of placing the most important works of the museum under glass to protect them from vandals. He kept it in his room for two years before offering it to a Florentine antique dealer. She returned to the Louvre in 1914.

She went through two world wars without incident – the first in Bordeaux, then in Toulouse, the second in Chambord, Amboise, Loc-Dieu, Montauban, Chambord, Montalais-en-Quercy, Lot and Cosse. Then new measures are taken, after on December 30, 1956, Hugo Ungaza Villegas, a Bolivian citizen subject to expulsion, throws a stone towards the painting and breaks the screen protecting the portrait of Lisa Gherardini. Shards of glass damaged his left elbow.

In 1974, during Mona Lisa’s visit to Japan, a woman doused her with red paint. Then, in August 2009, a Russian visitor was arrested for throwing a cup of tea at a painting. The shell did not penetrate the armored window, which is only slightly scratched.

Since 2005, the Mona Lisa has been completely safe behind armored glass, protected by a special box where humidity and temperature are controlled. Protection is all the more necessary because the canvas is not insured. In 1962, before La Gioconda’s trip to Washington and then to New York, Le Monde wrote: «The painting is practically priceless, the premium would be exorbitant anyway, and in case of theft, the fact that it was not insured precludes any possibility of blackmail with companies».

In 2020, Beaux-Arts magazine explained that «Unlike private museums, the state does not pay for insurance. The reason? Too much work and too high value. No one would have the means to insure priceless paintings. (…) It remains only to invest in security».
The post «Mona Lisa» in tartlets: Louvre files complaint first appeared on The Siver Times.

There’s no doubt that compared to the other rooms or spaces in your home, your bathroom will usually be one of the smallest. This means that you want to make the most of the limited space of your bathroom and make sure that everything essential can fit into it without cramping the space. And this will include the bathroom vanity. But choosing a bathroom vanity can be a tricky matter—you have to choose one that goes well with your bathroom’s design and theme, and you also have to make sure that it fulfils its proper function. Here is your essential guide to selecting the best bathroom vanity for your bathroom.

· Think about who will use it

The first step is to think about who will use it. Aside from this, you have to think about how they will be using it. For instance, if it is for a master bath and you would like you and your partner to have individual sinks or basins, then you might want a vanity that features a double basin. If you are the only one using your bathroom, it follows that you only need a one-basin vanity. But how you are planning to use your bathroom vanity can make a difference as well. If you like to style your hair and groom yourself in the bathroom, it would make sense to choose bathroom vanity cabinets with large counter spaces along with more storage areas to accommodate your necessities.

· Consider your bathroom’s plumbing

Of course, another consideration is your bathroom’s plumbing so you know exactly where your bathroom vanity can go. If you have to make changes to your bathroom’s plumbing system, keep in mind that it will cost extra time, effort, and money, so if you want to be more economical and practical, figure out your bathroom’s plumbing before you choose a vanity design. Your bathroom’s plumbing will also affect the style of your bathroom vanity. For instance, if you want a vanity mounted on the wall, you may have to remove the hookups for the plumbing on your existing basin, but if you want a floor-mounted one, the typical layout will often suffice.

· Determine obstacles, if any

While you can always change the design of your bathroom if you really want to, other elements are not that easy to fix. The walls and doors can’t be easily reconfigured, for example, and they can limit the place where you can install your bathroom vanity. When you are thinking of the placement of your bathroom vanity, determine any obstacles, such as the door. If the door to your bathroom is designed to swing inward, it may hit the bathroom vanity, which is not only annoying but also inefficient.

Think about the shower, too. Do you have a shower door rather than shower curtains? Then think about where the door swings as well. The toilet is another consideration; do you want your bathroom vanity beside it, in front of it, or far from it? Are you risking bumping into your bathroom vanity every time you use the toilet? Lastly, consider the traffic flow. Your bathroom vanity shouldn’t make your bathroom feel like an obstacle course every single time you are in it, so bear this in mind, too. Once you have thought of all these elements, it will be easier to make your choice, so think carefully, and choose well!
The post Your Essential Guide to Choosing the Best Bathroom Vanity for Your Bathroom first appeared on The Siver Times.

One of the best gifts I ever gave the grandparents of my children is a photo collage of my three sons. It captures in imagery, the story of their early years. It was created in a time before digital cameras, cellphone cameras, and the Internet. I spent hours searching for photographs that, firstly, were representative of each of my sons and secondly, ones I could cut to fit into the collage I was creating.

No need to do what I did though. There are now far easier ways to capture and preserve photographic memories.

At Mixbook.com you can create personalized photo books by uploading photographs highlighting your cherished memories. You can create your own wedding album, a year in review book showing a year in the life of your family, one showcasing your latest travels or a family timeline with a book of photos from Christmases past.

Creating a photo book as a gift is another option. For the high school graduate-to-be, compile a photo book highlighting their important milestones. Preserve grandma’s treasured recipes along with photographs and make multiple copies to share with all the grandchildren. If you’re having a family reunion, plan on taking photos for a book commemorating the event. Then, make multiple copies so it can be given to and enjoyed by family members in attendance and those who were unable to attend.

A high school yearbook, a kindergarten book of memories, a book about your baseball team’s season – the possibilities are endless.

Apart from personal types of photo books, entrepreneurs and businesses have used Mixbook.com to create portfolios, business profiles, and photo books highlighting business specialties. Just imagine being able to put together a photo book showing the hairstyles your hairdressers can create, the designs your architects or interior decorators have designed, or one showcasing the magical settings you, as an event planner has conceived and created.

One of the best things about creating a photo book on Mixbook.com is how easy it is to do. There are hundreds of themed templates to choose from and all can be customized. You can add text to any or all pages or choose to let the photographs stand alone to tell the story. Alternately, you can start with a blank book and use your own ideas to design pages that are a reflection of your personality and tastes.

Once you’ve decided on the shape of the book and the page layout, you are ready to select and drop your photographs into place. If desired, you can add design elements such as borders, scroll art, hearts or starbursts. There’s no need to worry about completing your book in one sitting either. Your work can be easily saved for completion at another time.

It really is very simple to create your own photo book at Mixbook.com but should you have any difficulties you can readily get answers. The site features a frequently asked questions page or you can connect with customer service personnel who are more than happy to assist you.

Your photo book story is just waiting to be told. Why not create it now?
The post Photo Books from Mixbook Photo Company first appeared on The Siver Times.

You already feel exhausted planning out the details of a corporate event. It’s even worse on the day of the event. You might not have time to sit or enjoy the party because everything is overwhelming. If it’s your responsibility to ensure the success of the event, these are some things you need to do.

Don’t do things alone

Regardless of how experienced you are in organizing events; you can’t do it alone. You need someone to help out. Organize committees to deal with every aspect. Each committee needs to have a team leader. Your job is to coordinate with the heads and not to delve into every detail, except if necessary.

Always have a plan B

Even if you spent time dealing with every aspect of the event, you can’t expect perfection. If things don’t go as planned, you need a backup plan. You will feel more confident if you know that there’s another option available as soon as you need it.

Don’t forget the logistics

You need to facilitate the flow of people in and out of the event venue, including the vehicles. You don’t want people to get stranded because of the lack of attention to logistics. Security also needs to be a part of the plan. Without a clear security plan, things could go wrong. It won’t only turn the event into a disaster; it could also damage the reputation of the company.

Don’t pack the program

You’re organizing a corporate event and not a variety show. There’s no need to pack the event with speeches and performances. In fact, some people are there to eat and take photos. They don’t care much about the program. Be mindful of the time and make sure you don’t go beyond your allotted time; otherwise, people will get bored and disengaged.

Be clear with the goal

You don’t want to spend a lot on a corporate event if it has no true value. Make sure that everyone understands why they have to go to the event. If it’s a celebration of a milestone, the employees need to know about it. If it’s a gathering to get to know everyone, it also needs to be clear. You might also ask people to wear formal attire or a costume. If so, there needs to be an explanation.

Don’t forget to document everything

You worked hard to make the event a reality. It would be a shame if you didn’t hire a top corporate event photographer Omaha companies recommend based on their previous work. You need to capture the entire evening the best possible way. You can also use the photos for PR releases. After several years, everyone will look back at that special night and have a huge smile on their faces.

Be patient for a while until you get through this tough process. Don’t forget to take a rest once the event is over. You still have other tasks to do, and you need to recharge. Don’t forget to thank the people who worked with you to make the event a huge success.
The post Tips to Succeed in Managing a Huge Corporate Event first appeared on The Siver Times.

Did
you know that lighting can actually affect how we feel about a particular area
or room? The proper lighting can make us feel warm and cosy, or it can do the
opposite and make us feel too alert or not relaxed at all. Of course, the
lighting you choose will depend on its purpose; if you want to perform certain
tasks, such as prepare meals and cook food, then you need the right task
lighting, so the space is adequately illuminated. If you want light simply for
reading, then you need lighting such as that coming from a lamp so you can read
comfortably and still be enveloped in a warm glow. But what else should you
know about lighting so that you can light up a space in the best possible way?
Here are the top factors you should remember when choosing lighting for a room.

Know
the different types

Whilst
a ceiling light is the go-to light for many, it doesn’t follow that all rooms
need a ceiling light. In fact, some rooms don’t even need it at all! Your
bedroom, for instance, doesn’t need a ceiling light as long as you have the
proper ambient and task lighting placed strategically around it. But before you
design the lighting for a particular area or space, you need to know the
different types first, so it will be easier to determine what it is you really
need.

Ambient lighting – ambient
lighting is often associated with soft lighting that gives an area or space a
warm, ambient and inviting glow. You can achieve this with a floor lamp or
other kinds of lamps.

General lighting – general
lighting is lighting that can be a combination of various sources, but you can
most often find general lighting with an overhead light.

Task or directional lighting –
task or directional lighting is, as its name implies, specifically to help you
perform a task, as it lights up a particular space or area such as a kitchen
island or a dining room.

Accent lighting – lots of people
are fond of accent lighting, and for good reason. Accent lighting can help add
drama and personality to an area or space, and it gives any space a more
relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Most accent lighting (such as wall sconces)
is also used for decorative purposes.

Know what you need first

When
you are designing the lighting elements for your room or a particular area,
it’s best if you begin with what you need when it comes to task lighting, and
then move on to accent lighting, general lighting, and then ambient lighting.
For task lighting, think of lighting fixtures you can use to perform tasks,
such as reading, preparing food, studying, eating, and so on. Task lighting for
the kitchen island is important, for example, and you can have the proper task
lighting with pendants hung above the island.
For accent lighting, modern lighting such as wall sconces will often do the trick as
will other lighting fixtures hung on the wall to add height and texture to the
room’s space. You can also achieve your general lighting needs with a central
ceiling fixture, such as a chandelier, but some rooms such as bedrooms don’t
even need general lighting if there is already enough task, accent, and ambient
lighting. You should aim for about two to three light sources so you can get a
proper balance and give your room or space a nice, delightful glow.
The post The Top Factors to Remember when Choosing Lighting for a Room first appeared on The Siver Times.

All this before being a sworn American Idol. But why does it deserve its place in the program?

$ 25 million. This is precisely what Katy Perry will cost the production of the revival of American Idol. Programmed for 15 years on the American channel FOX, the program will be back in a few months on the side of ABC. House of Jimmy Kimmel Live !, The View, The Bachelorette or Wipeou t, ABC is more than happy to welcome the revival of American Idol. Notably because Katy Perry has already been announced as a juror of the show. But while we were sharing with you this morning the last confidences of Fifth Harmony about their next album which comes out at the end of the month ,

Cecile Frot-Coutaz explains: “Katy is in the midst of a transition in her own career and has been shown what platforms like American Idol can do for artists.” This has been beneficial for other people in American Idol Or The Voice, but I think Katy is really interested
. She auditioned to be an honorary juror of American Idol in 2010 and then in the English version of The X-Factor. She’s brilliant. ” But while the One Direction may well be re-forming without Harry Styles , Katy Perry will have a busy schedule in the coming weeks as she will be hosting the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards Before going on tour to promote his album Witness on September 7th.
The post Katy Perry in American Idol, why does she deserve her place as a juror? first appeared on The Siver Times.

Ed Sheeran drops in the Billboard Hot 100 in the US this week . But the artist does not lose his joy and his good humor. Preview recently in studio, he continues his adventure, which made him become a huge international star. In the midst of a world tour in North America, the performer of “Shape Of You” will be in France on July 6, 2018 at the Stade de France. Meanwhile, he continues to exploit his album Divide , which has enjoyed immense success throughout the world, worn by big tracks such as “Castle on the Hill” or “Galway Girl.” But for the summer,

Tournée in Ghana, the video does not stage Ed Sheeran, which is still ranked in the top albums in France. On Instagram , he explained that this title was not a new single but simply a tribute to the country and a sound for the summer: “Since it’s summer, I wanted to release a video for Bibia Be Ye Ye, made by the awesome @GyoGyimah and filmed in Ghana.I went last year to make music and was exposed to a wonderful culture: music, food and of course, the scene. Fuse and I wanted to assemble all these images to show the beauty. It’s not a single but it’s summer and it deserves a song. ” We are 100% valid!

UPDATE
Friday, 28 July, 2017 20:20

Look at this article

The american actress, transgender Laverne Cox will host this Friday evening its first-ever gala in montreal at the festival Just for Laughs. In the meantime, here are five things to know about the star of the series Orange is the New Black.

Transition anonymous

Born Rodrick Laverne Cox, the american actress, has lived his transformation there are about a dozen years, before becoming a star. She recently recounted that she was happy to have been able to get through this important period in anonymity, unlike Caitlyn Jenner, in which every step of the process has been scrutinized by the media all over the world.

Small and large screens

It is thanks to her role of Sophia Burset in the popular series Orange Is the New Black Laverne Cox has become a real star. We will see later this year at the cinema in the film Freak Show, alongside Bette Midler and Abigail Breslin.

Controversy

Laverne Cox has made his debut in musical theater in the last year with The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again. The announcement of his hiring in the role of Dr. Frank N. Furter, a transvestite, has, however, raised the ire of the LGBT community. The actress has recognized that ” it is offensive to call a trans woman a transvestite “, but stressed that it was an opportunity to open up the dialogue about different sexual identities.

First

Laverne Cox was the first transgender woman to appear on the front page of Time magazine, and the first to have a statue in her likeness to the famous museum of Madame Tussauds.

Reply to Trump

Great defender of the rights of the LGBT community, Laverne Cox was quick to respond Wednesday, when Donald Trump tweeted that trans people would not be allowed in the u.s. armed forces. “To all the trans people who are presently serving in the armed forces, thank you for your service. I’m sorry that your “commander in chief” does not validate “, she wrote on her social networks. The actress has also invited its subscribers to “love more,” but also to ” fight back “.

The gala Laverne Cox will be presented this Friday evening, 21 h 45, salle Wilfrid-Pelletier of Place des Arts.
The post Orange Is the New Black at Just for Laughs first appeared on The Siver Times.

UPDATE
Friday, 28 July, 2017 05:00

Look at this article

“It is shameful, it’s outrageous, it’s done by fools ! “

This is what Robert Charlebois said a few days ago in the Mail from the South about the compilation of Universal for the 150th of Confederation, a compilation which contained no song in French.

Sorry, Robert, but I’m not at all surprised that the tunes Léveillée, Desjardins or Leloup does not appear on a compilation of a company that wants to sell records and that is not a policy. For me, this whole story around Universal, and the 150th of Canada is a fake scandal.

A STORM IN A GLASS Of WATER

If it was a compilation of the CBC or Radio-Canada, I would understand the outrage. If it was a compilation of government, from the site of Heritage, I would understand the controversy.

But we are talking here about a private company that is not required to meet quotas or criteria of the two official languages and who only responds to commercial interests.

The purpose of this compilation is to sell, everywhere in the world, a showcase of some of the most popular in Canada. Not the best. Not what is the most culturally significant. What is the most seller.

“I’m not even talking to me, said Charlebois in an interview. I think of songs, jewelry of Richard Desjardins, of the masterpieces of Jean Leloup. They are where, those people ? That is what they are listening to ? One hundred and fifty years of songs and they are not Fred ? Frankly, it doesn’t make sense ! “

I love the song Frédéric Claude Léveillée. But I do not understand why Robert Charlebois is so outraged that it is not found in the compilation of Universal.

Here are a few examples of songs that are there : Summer of ’69 Bryan Adams ; Man! I Feel Like a Woman Shania Twain ; and I ‘ m Like a Bird Nelly Furtado. In short, tubes, hits, songs that have cardstock on the four corners of the planet. I love You do you love me Richard Desjardins, but as far as I know, it has not played well in Shanghai and Timbuktu.

Seriously, there are people who have lamented the fact that even the tune chosen for Celine Dion is a song in English. Really, friends, you thought that Universal was going to choose something other than “My Heart Will Go On”, the tune of the Titanic that has resonated from Fiji to Ouagadougou ?

Seriously, friends, you would have preferred that the big bosses of Universal say : “We must honour the francophone side of Canada, so we will choose I to dance in my head” ? If you think that, do you dream in color.

A LOT OF NOISE FOR NOTHING

In response to the controversy, Universal has recognized his error and apologized. According to me, the mistake was to apologize. A commercial company has taken a commercial decision quite legitimate. It was not what whip a cat.

One last question : if a private company decided to release a compilation for the 375th anniversary of Montreal and that there was no song in English, would you be shocked ?

UPDATE
Friday, 28 July, 2017 06:57

Look at this article

The day has finally arrived. Arcade Fire launches today its new album, Everything, Now, at the end of a promotional campaign that is far from unanimous.

In recent weeks, several new and strange have been relayed about the club, via the social networks.

On a false website, confusingly similar to the Billboard magazine, an article signed by a certain Jeff McGuinness reports of lawsuits filed by the group against artists like Katy Perry and Fall Out Boy. It explains that the musicians claim to have copyright on the Millennial Whoop — sequence flagship of their song Wake Up — “reproduced” by a number of artists, since 2004.

Indebted ?

Another text, accessible this time via the site hollywooodreporter.co (not hollywoodreporter.com), reports that the group is heavily in debt after being involved in a video project with Terry Gilliam. This false news, which was shared by the filmmaker on Twitter, has even been the subject of an article published by the National Post, a few days ago. The canadian daily has corrected the facts, since.

This series of ” fake news (false news) that, according to Vice, is available on several web sites created by Sony Music, the company that manages Columbia Records, the record label of Arcade Fire, and therefore forms part of the marketing strategy surrounding the release of Everything Now.

Unravel the true from the false

If, for some, it was clear that these articles were giving in the ” parody “, the border between the real and the fake has become more blurred when holders of tickets to the official launch of the album (which took place in Brooklyn, yesterday evening) have received an email regarding the imposition of a dress code.

They were asked, among other things, to wear an outfit “trend” and not to wear shorts, sandals, ” flip-flop “, sweaters, shorts and baseball caps. The message also stated that the organisers reserved the right to refuse entry to people who do not follow these rules.

Of course, the news has displeased many fans. The group is also retracted, in the beginning of the week, explaining that it is the manager of its social networks that had taken this initiative, and this, without his knowledge.

Is this a promotional campaign, the relevance of which is questioned by many observers, will have a positive impact on the sales of Everything Now ? This is what we will know shortly.

UPDATE
Friday, July 28, 2017 15:35

Look at this article

Leo is in town! At least, so say some rumors claim that the oscar-winning actor would be in the metropolis to assist in the races of the Formula E.

READ ALSO : Leonardo DiCaprio in Quebec for Formula E?

If you wish to cross the interpreter of Jack in the Titanic, here are 7 places where you might be able to cross it.

1. The hotel Fairmount The Queen Elizabeth

A publication shared by Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth (@fairmontqueene) on 17 Jul. 2017 at 13: 45 PDT

Newly opened, the luxurious Queen Elizabeth could well accommodate the actor over the weekend. Located in the city centre it is the perfect hotel to be near the hustle and bustle of the Formula E!

2. The Wine Butterfly

A publication shared by Aaron Polsky (@foodiedatenight) on 13 Jul. 2017 at 14h41 PDT

With its menu fresh and his dishes are more decadent than others, the Wine Butterfly could well be the Leonardo DiCaprio this weekend. It is not uncommon for celebrities to stuff the face of Joe Beef, to the next door, but we believe that Leo would want to be a little more marginal and preferred the menu of the Wine Butterfly.

3. At the Grevin museum

A publication is shared by T (@timeeadaian) on June 15, 2017 to 16.50 PDT

Good. It is unlikely that the famous actor made a stop at the musée Grévin. But who knows? Perhaps will does it surprise some of his fans by replacing the wax statue of his effigy the time of a few hours?

4. Terrace St-Ambroise

A publication shared by lululemon Montreal (@lululemonmtl) on 20 Jul. 2017 at 16h47 PDT

Leo is a crazy bike. He who wants to be the greenest possible practice regularly this sport! It would, therefore, not unlikely to come across a Leo on a bike in the direction of the Terrace St-Ambroise. The path on the edge of the St. Lawrence river, is absolutely beautiful and this beautiful getaway will end with a beer in hand!

5. The Coldroom

A publication shared by Christina Aguilera (@xtina) on May 9, 2017 at 18h38 PDT

This speakeasy attracts celebrities from all over the world. After Christina Aguilera, maybe it will be the turn of Leonardo DiCaprio to stop there to drink a tasty cocktail?

6. Bookstore The wearing of head

A publication shared by lost in translation. (@yashaddad_) on 21 Jul. 2017 at 16h32 PDT

The bookshop at The port of head, located on the Plateau Mont-Royal, may well host Leo time for a short break away from the madness of the Formula E. let’s Recall that the father of Leo is a famous cartoonist and editor of comic books and that Leo himself loves to flip through books from time to time.

7. Crew Collective Coffee

A publication shared by @mtlcafecrawl April 4, 2017 at 12: 45 pm PDT

To make the full of caffeine, our Leo will probably make a stop at the Crew Collective Coffee. The spectacular café, located in a former bank, has even received several awards for its breathtaking scenery.

If you are in Montreal this weekend, keep your eyes open! You may just spot Leo!
The post 7 places where you could cross Leonardo DiCaprio this weekend first appeared on The Siver Times.

UPDATE
Friday, 21 July 2017 22:37

Look at this article

The opera singer Natalie Choquette knew that his daughter Éléonore Lagacé (star of the musical “Footloose”), was predestined to an artistic career, from the first day of his birth, 20 years ago. “The father of Eleonore had a concert the day of my birth. (…) He had to go to the orchestra, but he finally stayed and he took Eleanor in his arms, dressed [in] queue-de-pie.

Photo Chantal Poirier

Éléonore Lagacé

She was born with her eyes open and she was looking anywhere, everywhere. (It) has always been very switched on. When I see her on stage with his mega energy, she sparkles and she has the fire in his eyes, I can’t help but see that she is an artist full of talent,” recounts with pride the diva soprano, during rehearsals for the Show’s 35th with the Montreal symphony Orchestra last Tuesday.

Three months ago, the comedian Réal Béland has made a proposal to his eldest daughter, Charlotte, 22 years old, she could not refuse.

“She began her singing career seriously and I asked him to ensure the first parts of my shows. I told him that this is the opportunity to gain experience on stage and perform in front of large rooms. She accepted and she’s all alone with his guitar to sing in front of people. I would never have thought to do the tour with my biggest. I really love it”, said the comic, crossed at the Maison Symphonique, at the tour press of the Show’s 35th : The OSM and the great comic songs, last Tuesday.
The post First part with dad first appeared on The Siver Times.

UPDATE
Thursday, 20 July, 2017 08:24

Look at this article

The Council of the radio and telecommunications a new skin. It was time, because prior to the appointments of Tuesday, as announced by the minister for Heritage, Mélanie Joly, there were only five members out of 13 who had not completed their mandate.

Ian Scott, the new chairman of the CRTC, Caroline Simard, the new vice-president in charge of broadcasting, and Christianne Laizner, appointed for one year vice-president of telecommunications, are not of the same flour as their predecessors.

Scott, that will be familiar to people from telecom, but very few of those of the broadcasting, is not the man edged, stubborn and obstinate that it was the ex-chairman Jean-Pierre Blais. He is a man of most self-effacing that not brassera not the cage as did his predecessor. It will also allow for more margin of manoeuvre in its two vice-presidents. May be will there too to the officials and technocrats of the government. It will be based of the past president, but it will not necessarily be to the advantage of the consumer.

THEY ARE THERE FOR FIVE YEARS

What do we need to wait for decisions by the CRTC in the next five years ? For businesses of telecom and broadcasting, surely more flexible, but probably less of a long-term vision. If the producers and the artists look forward to the start of Blais, is that they lend themselves to the newcomers more than the knowledge that they have of the realities of the radio and tv.

If the expertise of Scott and Ms. Simard in telecommunications is undeniable, it is not on the same wavelength in terms of broadcasting. The future of this industry is very uncertain, weakened as it is by the globalization of content and the preponderance of growing content americans. Decisions almost immediate waiting for the new commissioners, a record number of queries that have been sent to the cabinet in the wake of recent decisions of the CRTC.

The CULTURAL EXCEPTION

The renegotiation of the NAFTA reassures a person of the cultural, still less the French-speaking people to which the principle of “cultural exception” is vital. At the conference of the first ministers of the provinces, this week, Philippe Couillard was the only one to declare that his government would defend the “cultural exception” with the same determination that the supply management in the agricultural sector. Other prime ministers have not appeared worried, even if they should be.

All hope is not lost for the world of broadcasting. While Konrad von Finckenstein was the chairman of the CRTC, Ian Scott was one of his counselors in broadcasting. May be will he be good advice from Caroline Simard, who will have to do his classes in this area.

In the good soldier that he should be, Scott will continue the fight undertaken by Ottawa under the minister, conservative James Moore for more competition and better rates in wireless telephony, for internet service expanded, faster and less expensive. Up where he will be able to force the big three, Bell, Rogers and Telus, to “share” their infrastructure ? It remains to be seen. Sure thing, Scott knows the intricacies of these companies, having worked at Telesat and Telus.

RDS HAS THE BEARD !

But on what grass I market ? It is quite obvious that RDS was not born in 2004 as I wrote inadvertently in my review of Tuesday. The Sports Network has the beard for years, as he was born in 1989.

TÉLÉPENSÉE OF THE DAY

It has been 35 voters for Saint-Apollinaire becomes the navel of the world.
The post What do you expect of the “new” CRTC? first appeared on The Siver Times.

In the form of a great musical revue, this concept which lasts 1 hour 30 is presented in the afternoon. For a time, the cost of entry wants to be modest (24 $), and it will allow everyone to reminisce about good memories. With seven musicians, dancers and dancers, the more the singer Nanettte Workman, the tandem of Don Campbell, David Latullipe, a former of The Voice, and two singers, fifty and a tube part of the question, or nearly so. Supported by images from the period, archival documents and pockets for disks, the journey could begin.

Aimed a general public and not specialists, we left for a moment, the imperfections of hand. In such a short time, the exercise is sometimes of the ” song dangerous “, since some verses are removed as well as a certain diction, for the benefit of the panorama, which let’s face it was successful. If Nanette does not seem to be very in voice at the first, which took place 5 July, things are now restored. In conclusion, this is a journey for all and we discovered once again, how the 60s were fruitful.

UPDATE
Wednesday, 19 July 2017 22:04

Look at this article

“Shocked but not surprised “, Michel Rivard denounces the lack of songs in French, in a box set compilation of six discs of canadian music launched by Universal Music Canada, to celebrate the 150 years of the Confederation.

“This is a drop of bitter more in the ocean of the multiple solitudes (I think of the aboriginal culture) that is Canada,” said in an e-mail sent to the Newspaper, the one who acted as spokesman for Québec’s fête nationale, last month.

Since the chronicler disk Log, André Péloquin, noted the absence of French songs in Canada 150 : A Celebration of Music, a vast compilation launched on 30 June, the denunciations abound. There is, however, nothing surprising, grieves Michel Rivard.

“Except for a slight openness in the 1970s, where stations such as CHOM-FM were broadcasting from the rock of quebec, except a few lovers of French song isolated in this large territory, the English-speaking Canada has consistently ignored the culture of the song in québec or francophone canada. “

“Two different things “

This controversy comes a week after the disclosure of the short list of the Polaris prize, awarded annually to the best canadian album. For a sixth year in a row, no French-language album, was not able to find a place among the 10 finalists of this award by a panel of music critics.

In addition to Michel Rivard, the case of Canada 150 has reacted to a few artists on the social networks.

“To force to repeat as Quebec and Canada, it is two different things, we should eventually understand,” wrote Dan Bigras.

Currently on vacation, the quebec minister of Culture, Luc Fortin, has not responded to an interview request on this subject. In his office, his communications officer has however indicated that this omission had ” no meaning “.

Quebec… in English

The breeders Universal, however, have included the work of québec artists, but the whole singing in English. We find, among others, Corey Hart, Bobby Bazini, Leonard Cohen, Daniel Lanois and a few others. Celine Dion is, but it has chosen My Heart Will Go On.

Even more strange, no Quebec, not even Cohen or Dion, could not carve out a place in the “ICON” of a CD which, as its name indicates, contains pieces by canadian artists among the most renowned.

Apologies

Universal issued a formal apology Wednesday on his page in Facebook. First in English, then in French, the multinational company has recognized an ” error of omission “. “The lack of a directory of French-speaking is an omission difficult to explain, that in no way reflects our values. “

“We will take steps to repair this offense,” added Universal, without specifying what specific measures will be taken.

As to the reason behind this ” omission “, it has been impossible to learn given that all interview requests since the beginning of the week have been ignored.
The post Box set compilation of canadian music : “A drop of bitter more” – Michel Rivard first appeared on The Siver Times.

UPDATE
Wednesday, 19 July 2017 22:55

Look at this article

For its 35th anniversary, Just for laughs has wanted to do things in a big way. In an outdoor show, the festival has presented on Wednesday night, a few comic songs, the most memorable of humour québécois, all accompanied by the music of the OSM. A good idea on paper that proved to be somewhat uneven in practice.

Grand opening of the OSM

Only on the track, the 65 musicians of the OSM began the evening in a very nice way, with an instrumental song that set the tone. Even if we didn’t have the sound quality of the Maison symphonique, the power of the orchestra was palpable on the Scene Videotron. And throughout the show, the OSM has given a lot of punch with a variety of benefits.

Farts worse Repeats in the wood

The ones who are now separated, the Chick’n Swell gathered for the occasion, the time of the offer including the excellent Getting worse Again. Accompanied by the orchestra, the piece took a turn almost epic, not to mention the solo cat (!) Francis Cloutier. It was also greatly appreciated to hear it again Patrick Groulx and les Denis Drolet redo In the woods, of the decedent issuing The Groulx Luxe. A pity, however, that Louis-José Houde has not accompanied the comic, as in the original version.

The songs are not so memorable

With a show of a duration of only an hour, we expected to see only a succession of great success. But strangely, we had a few pieces less known to the general public. Yet, the humor in quebec is no shortage of classic songs. In the early evening, Patrick Groulx has notably delivered the dark Peter. Then, we wondered what Ingrid St-Pierre came to do in this evening comic. The Three Agreements, which have played with the OSM at Just for laughs in 2015, would have been a better choice.

Barbies and Pérusse

Then we wondered where it was going to this show, we had the right to a benefit, surreal, and tasty, the song of the advertisement of Barbies Resto Bar Grill delivered to you by…, Nathalie Choquette and the baritone Patrick Mallette. Wow !

One of the moments that we were waiting for the most, the transition from François Pérusse, did not disappoint. The comic has delivered Snack Bar Chez Raymond and Guy has a bicycle yellow, to the cheers of the public. At the time of going to press, the pot-pourri of RBO had not been played.

THE VERDICT

A lot was expected of this show to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Just for laughs. Even if the concert, directed by Réal Béland, has offered some good times, the selection of songs we had raised some eyebrows a few times. We very much appreciated the bold choice of some of the pieces, but it would have been preferable to provide more parts that can engage a wide audience who only wanted to feast.
The post Uneven, but Memorable first appeared on The Siver Times.

UPDATE
Wednesday, 19 July 2017 22:05

Look at this article

Crowd suspended to her lips, participatory and strong and playful. This was very easily obtained the star Ed Sheeran during his passage in Montreal at the Bell Centre on Wednesday night.

Full tour Divide, the singer had no trouble to become one with his very many fans.

The most surprising, it is not so much the incredible success of the 26-year-old, but rather that it just needs to arrive on scene for a contingent of admirers of his feet.

As a single man

Force is to admit that Ed Sheeran was in full possession of his means. It was and is intended, in particular thanks to its great maturity.

With for companions, a guitar, a mic and a foot pedal, he gave back all of its letters of nobility to the profession of a solo artist. A musician, seated at the piano, has only supported the time How Would You Feel.

As soon as the first song, Castle on the Hill, he demonstrated that he was in perfect control of the situation and that he did not need anyone to make this concert a success.

Putting success as an Eraser, The A Team, Don’t, One and Photograph an eyelash, varying the speeds of language and agreements, it has managed to avoid the trap of the big head.

Giant Format

In order to ensure that all are able to obtain a certain closeness with the artist of the time, huge screens projected images of Ed Sheeran larger-than-life, varying the colors and effects in a mixture often reminiscent of music videos very gorgeous and poetic.

That said, even in the absence of this level of technological high-quality – a perfect complement to a pop star – the young tattooed man would easily be able to retain the attention of its faithful.

Thanks to his undeniable power of attraction, we might well forgive Ed Sheeran wait for the last of his offering to push Shape of You who made a splash on the radio waves. It is not as if he had need of this new success to bewitch its fans.

James Blunt also seduces

Also armed with his acoustic guitar, but having brought his piano, and supported by his musicians, James Blunt has received a very nice response for his performance of 45 minutes in the first part of his countryman.

Come present songs from his most recent album, The AfterLove, the singer has even managed to illuminate an amphitheatre, well-stocked asking the audience to turn on their cell phones.

When he concluded his interpretation of You’re Beautiful, his greatest success, it would have easily been able to believe that he was the headliner of the evening, as the crowd has greatly manifested his enthusiasm. Of course, that was before the arrival of the star Ed Sheeran.
The post Ed Sheeran bewitching Montreal first appeared on The Siver Times.

UPDATE
Wednesday, 19 July 2017 22:22

Look at this article

While Quebec still recovering from the passage of the stars of the Festival of summer and Ed Sheeran, Rimouski is preparing to be swarmed by fans of Bryan Adams in from across the country, the United States, France and even Japan.

It is Thursday evening that will be given to the kick-off of the 11th edition of the Great Feasts Telus and even if the canadian star of the rock is not likely to rise on the scene that Saturday, the Adamsmania is in full swing in the capital of the Bas-Saint-Laurent.

All tickets for the return to Rimouski, Bryan Adams (he had played at the Coliseum in February 2001) are being sold for a long time. It is expected to be between 22 000 and 24 000 spectators at the parc Beauséjour. The hotels are filled from Matane to Rivière-du-Loup and restaurant operators plan to double their turnover.

“This is our biggest edition “, confirms without hesitation the director-general of Major Festivals, Sébastien Noël.

“We are also planning to sell all the tickets for the other two parties “, he adds.

Tourists expected

In addition to Adams, Éric Lapointe, Sum 41 and DJ Champion are the headliners of the edition 2017 of the festival rimouskois.

In the past, the Major Festivals in particular have received the visit of Billy Talent, Weezer, The Offspring, Dennis DeYoung. But nothing compares to the coming of the one who has popularized the (Everything I Do) I Do It For You and Summer of ‘69.

“Bryan Adams, it allows us to make our name through the festival circuit in Quebec. This is a big step that you climb, ” says Sébastien Noël.

The results are there. According to Mr. Christmas, 70 % of festival-goers come from outside of Rimouski. And it not only speaks of the neighbouring regions. “We have people from France, some of the people of Japan. There is also American because we are near the border, many visitors to New Brunswick, Montreal and Quebec city. “

Ten nights of music

Even if the Major Festivals are beginning on Thursday evening, Rimouski is already in music mode since Friday. To mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, the City has presented six evenings of free music on the rue Saint-Germain.

“With Heritage Canada, the concept was to make 150 artists, but he had to have one of each province and territory. So it was very diverse. It was the Porn Flakes, Radio Radio, Bodh’aktan, Grim Skunk, the Royal 22nd Regiment, and several others, ” points out Sébastien Noël.

Summing up the four days of Major Festivals, Rimouski will, therefore, have been entitled to ten evenings of music during the month of July. And it’s just the beginning. The Big Parties have the firm intention to get other big stars. “We think already to the next year “, concludes Sébastien Noël.

Great feasts Telus – 5 shows not to be missed

Passing in Rimouski as of Thursday evening, you probably won’t want to miss these shows offered at the parc Beauséjour.

UPDATE
Wednesday, 19 July 2017 22:22

Look at this article

Chicoutimi represents something special to the training Sum 41 who will be, Saturday, at the 9th edition of the Beer Festival of the World of Saguenay.

It is at this place that Makes No Difference, the first single off of the canadian team, has been broadcast for the first time, after its launch on June 12, 2000.

Bassist Jason “Cone” McCaslin has not forgotten this time.

“We were in Mississauga in the process of recording the album All Killer No Filler, when the manager phoned us to tell us the news. We were very surprised when he told us, Chicoutimi, Quebec. It was amazing and unexpected, ” quipped the musician, in an interview.

The bass player does not remember, however, the Bunker, on the Boulevard du Saguenay, where the training occurred on march 9, 2008, during the tour Underclass Hero.

I have memories of having played in Chicoutimi, but not this place. It’s been ten years, ” he dropped it, laughing.

For the show to Friday, that Sum 41 will give the Big Parties Telus in Rimouski and Saturday, at the Festival des Bières du Monde de Saguenay, the quintet originally from Ajax Ontario, pigera throughout her discography.

The training consists of Dave Baksh, Jason McCaslin, Tom Thacker, Deryck Whibley, and Frank Zummo, back from a tour of 14 concerts in festivals in Europe and another in the United States, company in the month of April.

“There are a few things that we rehearsed and that we’re going to do for the first time in Rimouski, and Chicoutimi. It also has some elements of production that we had in the United States and in Europe and that it has ever yet been presented in Canada, ” said the bassist, without, of course, to sell the wick.

A gust of wind

Sum 41 will begin its 21st year after having seen the day, in 1996, under the name Kaspir.

At the end of a long tour, “Cone” McCaslin, said that the group still has a lot of energy on the boards, but that long tours are a little more difficult.

“We are today as a couple and have children. It is different from the friends that we had in 20 years. We have wives, houses, real families, and it is more exhausting mentally than physically. One feels more evil country than when we were young adults, ” he said.

The bass player, 36-year-old explains that the last 20 years are spent in the gust of wind.

“When we started the group, while we were in high school, it was not looking further than a month ahead of us. We had fun and we didn’t think about a career. This is when we began to make albums, and that one has been signed that we began to say that we could earn our living with it. And here we are, 20 years later. It is a hike amazing and I think that we are ready for another 20 years “, he launched.

Jason McCaslin will definitely try some of the products of microbreweries at Chicoutimi.

“I am someone who is very hard on the beer. I don’t like ones that are dark, like Guinness. I am more a guy of Lager and Pilsner “, he remarked.

After Rimouski and Chicoutimi, the group will have a few weeks off before jetting off to Asia, where he will participate in the Festival Summer Sonic, and will give some shows in the surrounding area.

“We should be on leave during the fall and, then, the process of writing our next album “, he stated.

UPDATE

Look at this article

Nearly 35,000 people gathered Wednesday night at the Parc Jean-Drapeau, to attend the spectacular concert of Metallica, as part of their tour “WorldWired”Tour.

From the first notes of “Ecstasy of Gold”, accompanied by a clip of western on a giant screen, the audience was in a trance, shouting, raising their arms in the air. Already wet and hot, and the rest of the evening promised to be especially explosive.

Arrived on stage to the cheers of the crowd, the four guys of Metalllica were immediately started with “Hardwired”, followed by the percussion “Atlas Rise!”.

“You just came from, who you are, what you will eat or that you do not eat, we all have a common point, has launched the singer and guitarist James hetfield didn. Our point in common is that you all came to celebrate life with us!”

For his stop in Montreal, Metallica arrived with all the heavy artillery of his tour. A huge stage, a height of approximately 12 metres, with a background that unfolds in the manner of a fan and which serves sometimes as a giant screen, sometimes of canvas, throw when necessary. The pyrotechnics and the lights are nothing next to the ton of decibels they send, and that makes vibrate the body when it is too close to the stage.

With “Now That We’re Dead”, four huge drums make their appearance on stage. Hetfield didn, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Robert Trujillo, who wears strange braids, will begin to strike the drums in unison, quickly joined by the drummer Lars Ulrich. A beautiful moment of communion.

On “For Whom the Bell Tolls”, a movie clip especially successful is screened in the background of the scene. Californians have continued with “Fuel” and “The Unforgiven”.

In the middle of the process, the group has accelerated the pace – if that was still possible – by linking the heavy weight of their repertoire, such as “One”, “Master of Puppets”, “Fade to Black” or even “Seek and Destroy”.

Several big success stories of Metallica, such as “Nothing Else Matters” or “Enter Sandman”, were still expected for the end of the concert, nearly 2 hours after their arrival on scene.

Metallica didn’t come to Montreal since 2014, while they were the headliner of the first day of Heavy Montreal. They were not to be disappointed to be income, Wednesday, saw the triumphal welcome that the public has reserved.
The post Montreal celebrates Metallica first appeared on The Siver Times.
