A few weeks after the end of the season 7 release of The Walking Dead, we return to the problems that have led to a general decline in popularity.
First and foremost, we would like to point out that The Walking Dead remains a quality series that we like to watch, and you are free to tell us what you think about it in the comments below . However loving a series does not mean being blind on the negatives and there are very few series that have none. For the series of zombies that we are following now for 7 seasons, it is in particular some differences with its beginnings that we regret. The first thing we think is a problem, Conversational aspect of the series. For some time now, the characters have been talking only about essential and factual things. Everything revolves around survival and most dialogues can be summarized in “we do this to survive” or “that’s how things are now”.
The first seasons offered us more dialogues, debates between the characters – especially between Dale and Andrea – lighter and more “normal” sentences that made it easier for us to identify with the characters. How long has Rick had a real conversation with Carl? Season 7 has further accentuated the fact that most characters speak to the same people and the dynamism of the series suffers . The first seasons, which had a smaller but still important group, showed us more fluid conversations that allowed us to better understand the mood of the characters. In short, we would like The Walking Dead to actually speak his characters, sometimes even ” The Walking Dead sometimes becomes too much an imitation more than an adaptation and therefore lacks rhythm, explanation and fluidity. Obviously the plot is primordial but the mode of narration on television is not the same as in writing and where the reader is accustomed to fill the spaces between the boxes of a comic, the viewer would like to him A little more binder. The Walking Dead sometimes becomes too much an imitation more than an adaptation and therefore lacks rhythm, explanation and fluidity. Obviously the plot is primordial but the mode of narration on television is not the same as in writing and where the reader is accustomed to fill the spaces between the boxes of a comic, the viewer would like to him A little more binder.
The last episodes of Season 7 were a blatant example of the lack of coherence in the sense that many things went off screen to the point of making us ask if we had not missed scenes. The absence of Sasha’s arrival at the Sanctuary, the encounter between Rosita and Dwight, the start-up of Jadis or even a simple discussion between some members of Rick’s group after they saw that Ezekiel Had a tiger (!) Are all things that we would have liked to see on the screen. To leave a certain part of the “work” to the viewer is essential and allows us to continue to create the universe of the series that we love so much in our head . But one can not help but feel like a ” Have too many missing pieces in the puzzle. The balance between the plots and the characters seems to have suffered lately and it is hoped that they will return to the front of the stage to look a little more human.
Finally, the third thing that has been noticed concerns rather the form than the background. The Walking Dead remains a neat and beautiful series to watch, but Season 7 did not have the graphic look that was expected from the series. The plans seem less worked, the music is sometimes too ubiquitous and encroaches on characters who sometimes already too much in the background compared to the plot, and the magic of the first seasons is missing us a little. Again, to note certain changes – inevitable since it seems normal that a series evolves during the seasons – does not mean that one does not appreciate the series . On the contrary, as inveterate fans, one feels these things since one would like magic to work again, To meet before powerful and intense scenes saying “Damn, well played The Walking Dead” . And of course, the series had scenes like that and offered us beautiful things in the last few seasons. But the balance to be found in an adaptation is difficult and Season 7 simply gave us the impression that it had been even harder to find lately. While waiting to know if the series will return a little to its roots in the suite, you were offered a recap of all the dead of season 7 of The Walking Dead . And you what do you think ? The series had scenes like that and offered us beautiful things in the last few seasons. The long wait until this fall has begun and we have already offered to discover what was going to happen in season 8 of The Walking Dead to wait until then. Today it is in season 7 that we will take an interest to draw up our balance sheet. Do not hesitate to tell us what you think about it in the comments and attention to the spoilers if you have not seen all the episodes. We start with the rhythm of the season which, as for some of the previous seasons, remains problematic in the series . The Walking Dead continues its schema with two different tones and moods between the first eight and eight last episodes, and four strong episodes that stand out: season premiere, mid-season finale, Mid-season premiere and season finale – between which we find episodes softer and not always very captivating. This problem seemed particularly blatant in a season 7 to the overall wobbly consistency despite a certain turnaround between the first and second half of the season. Some delays were noticed in intrigues not necessarily primordial to the story – although interesting – while the deadlock was made on other scenes that could have been key if they had been shown.
For example, the arrival of Sasha at the Sanctuary, then his capture, or the meeting between Dwight and Rosita, or the coordination of the Kingdom and Hilltop who arrived at the right time in Alexandria. So many things that we really liked to see on the screen and which sometimes gave us the impression of having missed scenes. In short, and to finish with the negative points of this season, it was more, in our opinion, a transitory season supposed to delay the beginning of the war between Rick and Negan . The first direct confrontation took place in the final season and marks the beginning of a new era for the characters. As for the things we liked, we can notably mention the few episodes centered on characters in particular.
The discovery of new communities, and therefore new characters, was also very sympathetic, although this obviously means that the plots were once again split up and that there were sometimes 3 episodes without news from a group particular. Another positive point: the evolution of the characters. It has been quite obvious for some like Carl, Maggie or Rick since the beginning of his relationship with Michonne. After a terrible first season, Carl continues to harden and become the archetype of a survivor who has only known the apocalypse as he grows up . His determination and his courage, which sometimes borders on imprudence, have made him a fascinating personage whom we are anxious to see flourish in this new world. Whether it is he, Maggie, Rosita or Eugene, each character showed us a new facet of himself by reminding us why we are so attached to The Walking Dead and all its protagonists, good and bad. Finally how to talk about good points without mentioning the incredible Negan, played to perfection by a Jeffrey Dean Morgan sometimes charming, sometimes terrifying. Good things and a little less, the series signed AMC is still good enough to ask for more and waiting for the sequel, you have already been told more about the date of broadcast season 8 of The Walking Dead . And what is your record of Season 7? Each character showed us a new facet of himself by reminding us why we are so attached to The Walking Dead and all its protagonists, good and bad.

A few hours after the last episode of season 7 of The Walking Dead, we are interested in what will happen next season.
What will happen in season 8? We offer you our predictions and speculations, which will be based in part on the comics published in the US, so you are warned against spoilers and those who do not want to know their way. The last episode of season 7 has finally marked the beginning of the war between Rick and Negan and so it is above all what one can expect . With the help of the Kingdom and Hilltop, Alexandria is now the weight in front of the Sanctuary and it is a safe bet that this first confrontation is followed by many more violent ones. For example, With Dwight’s help, Rick and his group set out to attack the Sanctuary before Negan could return. This would allow them to avenge the death of Sasha since they do not know that she committed suicide to save them, and finally to take their revenge – and possibly settle their accounts with Eugene.
It’s not just the Saviors who might have a surprise visit, since it’s possible that Rick and his allies go to see Jadis and the Scavengers to clear things up. Season 8 should also mark the arrival of a community well known to the readers of comics: the Whisperers, alias Whisperers in French. With Alpha at their head, this group of ruthless survivors is expected to complicate matters a little more for Rick. The Whisperers disguise themselves as walkers by wearing their skin to go unnoticed and it is a group behind many intrigues in the comic strip on which is based The Walking Dead . Indeed, it is notably because of Whisperers that Rick and Negan will eventually find a land of ” Agreement after Rick captured the leader of the Saviors . Because yes, if the series continues to follow the comics, Rick will eventually defeat Negan and finally take over. But he will not be at the end of his sorrows for all that, and he may well lose many of his friends afterwards.
According to the comics, it is among others Father Gabriel, Rosita and Ezekiel who should die in season 8 of The Walking Dead, killed by the Whisperers to finish with their heads on spears. Moreover the fate of many characters who do not exist in the comic or whose intrigue has been changed remains a mystery. If Daryl’s chances of survival are rather high given his popularity, can we say the same for Carol? In any case, it is hoped that her plot will be more interesting later and that she will stay in Alexandria to reconnect with her after a whole season of absence. Maggie will surely return to Hilltop to continue training her residents and prepare for the coming war. After many separate intrigues, We would like to see the maximum number of characters in the same place to see them interact more. This gives us an idea of what can be expected from the sequel. To wait until then, we have listed for you the 5 key moments of episode 16 of season 7 of The Walking Dead . And you, what do you see in Season 8?
The post The Walking Dead Season 8: What’s Gonna Happen? first appeared on The Siver Times.

An act of bravery! And yes the meltynauts, if we knew that the talented Sonequa Martin-Green was in danger of leaving the AMC flagship series since it was announced to the Star Trek Discovery cast , we had not imagined a single second that the character of Sasha would leave so heroically . But that’s not all, since this Season Finale was also the occasion for our fetish characters to finally pull back Negan. While Melty’s editor suggested discovering the cast’s confidences on Sasha’s unexpected death scene in Season 7 of The Walking Dead , let’s get back to the five key moments of the Season Finale.
The death of Sasha
If his disappearance should sadden the fans, they can at least be consoled with the beautiful exit door that the writers have reserved for him. Sasha has never let us down, and it took some bravery for her to take the famous poison of Eugene . Without the least weapon at her disposal to kill Negan, she decided to turn herself into a weapon. And even if it failed, it saved the life of Carl and the people of Alexandria. A heroic sacrifice that reminds us why we love The Walking Dead so much.
The Return of Abraham
If the scene was terribly painful to the heart as it played with our emotions and especially with the possibility that the strong man in the series could listen to Sasha instead of following Rick and moving towards her death she allowed us to see How much he loved Sasha. Much more serene than at the beginning, he had not lost his ardor or his courage. Two qualities that we also found happily with Sasha at the dawn of his death. More than ever, the shadow of Abraham and Glenn reigned over this episode when their vengeance finally began!
Dwight’s loyalty
Even if the fans of the comics knew that Dwight would decide to change camp, one can never be completely sure with the series. Fortunately, this Season Finale showed us that Dwight was on their side. With an Inside Man able to inform them of Negan’s smallest decisions, Rick and his allies can now concoct a plan much more serenely . Hopefully it will not get burned in the first episodes of season 8!
The Hill, The Kingdom and Alexandria united against Negan
We waited for that moment for the entire season. And it was perfect! Even if we do not quite understand how their timing can be as exceptional, this scene finally got the better of Negan’s eternal assurance. For the first time since the start of the season, it has receded against the strength of the three communities combined . A real happiness so much we were already emotionally reached by the death of Sasha and the betrayal of Jadis. Hopefully the pace will pick up in season 8.
The Tribute to Glenn
Maggie’s speech was as heart-rending as it was magnificent. So much has happened since the show’s first season that we sometimes forget that it’s Glenn’s decision to save Rick who started it all. Central and terribly human character, Glenn misses us enormously but he is saving to know that he will live eternally in Maggie and their child . He is the one who made our survivors a true family and we can never erase it from our memories. Waiting for more info, discover our review of episode 16 of season 7 of The Walking Dead on melty. No you do not dream, last night AMC has already broadcast the last episode of season 7 of The Walking Dead . “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life” has fulfilled its promises with action, a certain outcome and a strong foundation for Season 8 and we invite you to discover our criticism. Warning, the article will contain spoilers on the episode. As the spoilers had foreseen, it was a Sasha in the dark who listened to the music found in the opening scene and those who had read them knew what would follow: the surprise return of Michael Cudlitz under the Features of Abraham . Throughout the episode, Sasha and he spoke to each other and their tender and sunny scenes contrast sharply with the rest of the action, Episode in a sometimes strange way. She tells him that she dreamed that he was dead and the way it was shown made sure that it might as well be a pre-season flashback 7 in which Sasha was particularly perceptive that d A hallucination caused by what she knows.
Maggie is also very present in Sasha’s thoughts and the end of the episode shows us how important her character is later on, but we’ll come back to it later. Because in Alexandria, we are plunged back and forth directly – even a little too much – with Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Jesus, Rosita and Tara questioning Dwight who explains that he is there because Sheryl is gone. Denise’s death still hangs over Tara who encourages Daryl to kill him but the war against the Saviors prevails and Dwight is a definite advantage for them. Meanwhile at the Sanctuary and since the scenes of Sasha in the dark are actually flashforwards, Negan gives her a visit and ends up signing a deal with her: only one person will die to get the message out to Rick . We can already see in Sasha’s eyes that she decided who would be the unfortunate victim and it is therefore not surprising that she is seen taking the pill of Eugene once installed in the coffin that brings her back to Alexandria. At Hilltop and the Kingdom, things are moving and we regret that we did not see the organization of the different communities that had to happen partly off screen.
The gathering of the Scavengers of Jadis, of Hilltop of which Maggie took control and Kingdom is done quickly and creates at the beginning of the episode a rhythm a little jerky which gives the impression of having missed things. The episode still takes time to show us a scene as funny as unexpected when the arrival of Jadis who asks Michonne if it’s problem for her that she sleeps with Rick after the battle, normal . Rick and Michonne are equally uncomfortable with each other and the scene would surely have seemed more funny if Jadis did not end up shamefully betraying Rick once Negan on the spot. If the beginning of the episode seemed to us to take place in jerks, the last part caught up with all this. The arrival of Eugene and his speech, the betrayal of Jadis and the new deal of Negan: Everything goes together perfectly. And things accelerate when Negan opens the coffin and discovers a zombified Sasha throwing himself at him, the only major death of season finale season 7 of The Walking Dead . We suspected that she could not kill him but we admit that we dreamed a little bit of it for a few seconds …
Carl takes advantage of the surprise effect and pulls the first, triggering a disorganized chaos during which one wonders how the survivors manage to distinguish their friends from their enemies. The attempt to attack eventually failed and ended with Rick and Carl on their knees before Negan, and a new promise: Carl’s death. Rick’s reply has less effect on Negan – and on us – than in the first season, and we thank Shiva for making a shattering entry . The special effects team went out of their way to show us the tigress devour some Saviors and we hope to see a little more in the sequel. The arrival of the Kingdom, followed by that of Maggie and Hilltop change the situation and allow our heroes to regain the upper hand and make flee a Negan who has the nerves. The season ends in a very nuanced way, on a half-victory for Rick but with the loss of Sasha and a betrayal that hurts. Yet Rick and Maggie’s speech that accompanies us to the last few seconds proves that Glenn’s soul is still present in the series and stresses that hope is reborn and that it is ready to fight that we will find them all in The season 8. AMC offered us an episode with the strange rhythm that catches up well on the end bringing us – finally! – the long awaited action and the beginning of a war that we are already looking forward to. And you, what did you think of the last episode?
