The Huawei Watch 2 spent two weeks in my hands. I was able to test this new connected watch which can do without a smartphone as well seems and here is the time of the verdict.
After seducing smartwatch enthusiasts with its Huawei Watch, the Chinese manufacturer decided to continue the wrist adventure connected in 2017. Equipped with the latest technologies, the Huawei Watch 2 regaled me . Light despite its thickness, independent despite its format, the new connected watch of Huawei throws. She successfully completed all the steps of my test . But is this Watch 2 truly revolutionary compared to its big sister? Does it bring real added value? I will try to answer it in the next few lines.
Aesthetically, Huawei radically changed its Watch 2, compared to the Watch Classic. If the first generation of Huawei’s connected watch was distinguished with its leather strap and metal dial, the new generation is more sporty, more masculine. Featuring a lightweight silicone bracelet and a metallic and plastic frame, the Huawei Watch 2 is easy to wear . But if the Huawei smartwatch visually gives the impression that the ring and the dial are not fixed, it is not. In reality, the crown does not move. Which makes it difficult to navigate the system, as you will see. To finish with the negative sides of the design of this new watch connected, I must mention its size.
The thickness of the Huawei Watch 2 has nothing to do with the finesse of an Apple Watch but this is due to the fact that all the components of this watch are housed in different places compared to other smartwatches. Weight level, the Watch 2 is even lighter than its elder who was nevertheless less muscular. And even if the screen of the Huawei Watch 2 is small enough (a strong impression with the big ring), Android Wear 2.0 draws the best from this connected watch . The icons are large and the information is clearly legible. To navigate the Huawei Watch 2, there is no question of using the ring that is fixed. No, everything is done on the finger. At first, I had a little trouble getting out but after a dozen interactions,
And thanks to its light sensor that adapts to all conditions, the Huawei Watch 2 adapts to all lighting conditions . The colors are glowing, the rendering is really wow. The new “dock” of the watch, which is accessed by pressing the first side button, allows me to easily access the apps and it’s really cool. And Android Wear 2.0 allows you to enjoy a drawer of quicker settings more accessible and organized. But what is really stupid on this connected watch is its independent side. Available in 3 versions, the Huawei Watch 2 is offered in a model that can be equipped with a nano SIM or e-Sim integrated. These two versions can push you to leave your smartphone at home!
As Huawei France’s marketing director summarized so well, “when you run with the Huawei Watch 2, you do not need your smartphone anymore . ” Even better, both SIM and e-SIM versions can send messages or make calls , even if your smartphone is not within reach. Basically, these versions of the Huawei Watch 2 turn into a kind of smartphone at the wrist. And the cherry on the cake, the autonomy of the new connected watch of the third smartphone manufacturer in the world is better than that of his big sister.
The battery lasts two days in normal use (like responding to SMS with short pre-recorded answers or, to use simple features like alarm). If you put on the watch so that it becomes the best ally for your sports sessions, its battery will not hold the day. But good, it can still do without charge for 10 hours . Let us hope that the next generation enjoys greater autonomy. Oh yeah, I was forgotten. The Huawei Watch 2 can also display the time, number of steps (and basta) in a “Clock” mode that resembles an extreme energy-saving spell.
The new Huawei Watch is still a beautiful kid but is making good progress on the sport. Even if it gets wet, it can accompany us from morning to night. A bigger screen would have helped to establish itself as a gadget that would make us crack every time. But personally, I’m already seduced. This connected watch is one of the best things I’ve tested. And it is not for nothing that she has already won several prestigious awards. If you want to get it , it’s by HERE that it happens .
The post Test: 15 days with the Huawei Watch 2, the connected watch that will push you to zap your smartphone! first appeared on The Siver Times.

One thought may spoil another. At a Huawei conference before analysts, the director of the Chinese giant revealed that he did not see the interest of watches connected . But the frankness of the boss of Huawei could hurt the Watch 2. Freshly presented, this smartwatch that passed by my wrist throws. Huawei’s watch, the best object connected to the Mobile World Congress 2017 , would probably have preferred to do without the statements of Eric Chu, one of the three co-CEOs of the company.
According to a report by Forbes , Eric Chu was reported to have ” never understood why we should wear watches connected when everything we need is on our phones . ” Totally autonomous since it is equipped with a 4G chip, Watch 2 seems to be muscular enough to support and exceed such statements. In the editorial, it is believed that the co-CEO of Huawei wanted to highlight the unstable and stammering side of the smartwatches market. But failing to have chosen the right words, he forced Watch 2 of his firm to release his muscles. So wait and see …
The post Despite the release of the Watch 2, the director of Huawei skimmed the watches connected! first appeared on The Siver Times.

Available in 3 versions including a 4G model, the new connected watch from Huawei is stand-alone. It can allow you to free yourself, definitely, from your smartphone. And yes, you will also be able to run without your mobile, while being able to be reached by message or even by telephone . Oh, is not it? The icing on the cake, this smartwatch Android Wear 2.0 is also compatible iOS. So, I tried it with an iPhone 7 and the pairing was done oklm.
Hardly twinned with the iPhone 7 via the Android Wear app, the Huawei Watch 2 recovers most of the apps installed on the headphone smartphone. This synchronization does not really happen at high speed V. But thanks to the new new Android Wear 2.0 operating system, the iPhone 7 “easily” accepts the connected watch from Huawei. The new “dock” of the watch, which is accessible by pressing the side button, allows for easy access to the apps and it’s really cool. And since the connected watch from Huawei offers fitness solutions and optimizes training , I look forward to swallowing the first few kilometers with my wrist connected . After having had the opportunity to test the Huawei P10 , I will now tackle the Huawei Watch 2. Already, with my first watch signed Apple, I felt like James Bond. So, imagine my kif when unpacking this watch under Android Wear 2.0! On my wrist, the Huawei Watch 2 throws. But if you hope for a small discreet watch, it’s dead. The Chinese giant sees the big picture.
12h : Aesthetically, Huawei has radically changed its Watch 2, compared to the Watch Classic. If the first generation of the connected watch from Huawei stands out with its bracelets, the new generation is more sporty, more masculine. Featuring a lightweight rubber strap, the Huawei Watch 2 looks visibly easy to wear.
12h30 : Hardly twinned with the P10, the Huawei Watch 2 recovers most of the apps installed on the smartphone. This sync is done at high speed V, thanks to the new Android Wear 2.0 operating system. The new “dock” of the watch, which is accessible by pressing the side button, allows me to easily access the apps and it’s really cool.
13h : In addition to having changed design, the new connected watch from Huawei has been transformed inside: it is now waterproof . She can now accompany me in the shower or during my sessions at the pool since she is certified IP68. For the dolphins, we’ll see later … In short, I decide to go under water and fortunately for me, the watch always walks oklm.
14h : By becoming waterproof, the Huawei Watch 2 decided to show its muscles . The connected watch now uses multiple sensors with complex algorithms, offers fitness solutions and optimizes drives. These integrated sensors collect comprehensive data on user activity, distance, speed, number of steps, heart rate, heart rate, calorie count, pace, route, etc. Doing sports has never been so crazy for a geek.
14:30 : But what I really like about this watch is being able to detach myself from my Huawei P10, whenever I want. This new smartwatch embeds its own modem of the blow, it is autonomous . I can finally go out running without my smartphone, while being able to be reached by message or even by telephone. Since I had the slab, I decided to test the GPS built into this watch (a real novelty) . I literally could give up my P10 to the editor and geo-locate with my watch.
16h : The Huawei Watch 2 is a true formula 1 compared to its eldest. It’s a bit like “Flash” smartwatch version. Navigating between the apps is a real happiness especially when compared with the slow hell imposed by his big sister. And cherry on the cake, its autonomy meets all my expectations . The battery lasts two days in normal use, up to 10 hours in “training mode ” and up to three weeks in “watch mode”.
Appraisal :
The new Huawei Watch is still a beautiful kid but is making good progress on the sport . Even if we get wet, she can accompany us from morning to night. A bigger screen would have helped to establish itself as a gadget that would make us crack every time. But personally, I’m already seduced. If you want to get it, it’s by HERE that it happens.
The post A day with the Huawei Watch 2, the connected watch that is independent of the smartphone first appeared on The Siver Times.
