Place to the most kissing dads of the small screen to celebrate Father’s Day as it should be!
Two weeks ago, we presented you the list of mothers of series that we would like to have, so it is time to honor in their turn the best dads of the small screen. Between daddy cool, daddy hen or bad-ass daddy, the television landscape is populated by fathers of all kinds. And if we did not have a Patriarch like Frank Gallagher, Walter White, Stannis Baratheon or any other Dan Scott , there would be someone who could easily offer a “World’s Best Dad” mug . Here are those who for us represent the cream of the cream of the dads of the TV, those with whom one would have liked to grow:
Keith Mars – Veronica Mars
Already, having a private detective father is quite cool, but when you can also play spies, participate in the investigations and use them against the people roused around you, it’s still the class. Keith Mars had to raise his teenage daughter Veronica, alone, and despite a sometimes tumultuous relationship between the two, we always wanted to have a dad like him. Ned Stak did not last a long time in Game of Thrones , but Robb’s father Sansa, Arya, Bran and Rickon fought to the end to defend honor and truth. Hal – Malcolm

Of course, there are still plenty of fathers – or paternal figures – cool on TV that could have been added to this list. These include Rogelio De La Vega in Jane The Virgin , Phil Coulson (Agents of SHIELD) and Phil Dunphy (Modern Family), and Sandy Cohen and his bagels in Newport Beach . Knowing that we’ve already seen them, eh. One only wants to go back hours, with their characters and their delusions. In binge watching mode.
We are ready to pass on the outfits and haircuts, sign that we really like them. Because we are not going to lie either, it was a bit lollipop sometimes the 90s. But at least the guys were creative, inventing things. Whether it’s music (hip-hop, grunge), cinema (special effects), in our life (internet): quite a few devolutions took place in the 90’s. Here we focus on the best series, the ones we would look at again from beginning to end if they were to go back (completely and in the right direction, eh, not like the police series on TF1 at random) on TV or on Netflix.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
According to the credits that sends pate, she is the “elected” of her generation, she “will face the vampires, demons and force of the evil”. Aloooors, what are you gonna do? Yeah, you can get carried away when you’re a kid, deep inside. Today, we would be calmer, of course. But Buffy Summers, the high school girl who defies the vampires, and this series where we had a perfect mix : action, horror, comedy, romance, and even a fighting hair in martial arts mode.
Friends
No feint, no false suspense. It is a direct balance, and everyone understands why. How do you dodge the series we grew up with? While Ross, Chandler, Joey, Monica, Rachel and Phoebe were doing the same, in Manhattan? A sitcom like we love them, funny, lively, which makes us spend a good time. 10 seasons? Yes, and then, when one loves one does not count.
Angela, 15 years old
Only one season, but 19 episodes of 44 minutes. So not nothing, actually. A teenage thing, it’s clear, since you’re Angela (boom, the title is well done) and her states of fluctuating souls. The revivals, reboots and other spin-offs of cult series are raining! What if Buffy vampires turn back? SMG does not say no …
May 20, 2003, after seven seasons, Buffy finally kept his post and gave himself some well deserved rest. It must be said that after so many apocalypses foiled, Miss Summers surely needed to go green. Since then, the series has remained a sure value that is sometimes remade when it passes on the TV (or in DVD for the true fans of the show). A veritable institution, Buffy against the vampires reached cult status and remains a reference series, over a decade after the release of its final episode. In short, the show rocked our younger years and we give a lot to see Sarah Michelle Gellar put on his leather pants, kick back and greedy vampires out his sharp and sassy replicas … While a prequel would Charmed preparation , we begin to dream the return of Buffy . And we’re not the only ones!
Since the end of the series, Sarah Michelle Gellar – SMG – is rare on our screens. After a few movie roles and ephemeral shows ( Ringer , The Crazy Ones ), it is fully dedicated to his family and his culinary box brand, Foodstirs . While Buffy against the vampires will soon celebrate its 20th anniversary (it not really an upgrade!) And the revivals of cult series ( Gilmore Girls , Fuller House , Prison Break, which will return in March , X-Files …) multiply, Sarah Michelle Gellar spoke about a possible return of the show … and everything does not seem lost! Judge it.
