Then did the last chapter of the life of the Queen of Scotland convince us? Well, it must be said that our feeling is mixed with Reign season 4 , as with every season, there is good and not so good . In the worst case, we will note the intrigue which takes place at the court of France . Since Mary left France, we are not going to lie, we do not have much to do with what happens there. We adore the character of Catherine De Medicis, it is unfortunately not enough to make the whole interesting.
Fortunately, we did have the visit of Catherine in Scotland who finally put the character forward as it deserves. Megan Follows and Adelaide Kane are both very good actresses and they work really well together . Too bad his passage was only of very short duration, for it was a real pleasure to see them plot together again. Another point that was embarrassing, especially when you know Marie Stuart’s story quite well, is that you really feel that the plot was accelerated in order to slide the highlights of his life after his Return to Scotland: his second marriage, the death of Rizzio, Bothwell, the birth of his son, his death … Obviously, We suspect that the writers did not really have the choice on learning that the series was not going to get fifth season and it was then necessary to condense years of history in 16 episodes. It feels all the more in the final series where everything is linked very quickly. Too bad the series did not have more time to properly develop its intrigues.
Otherwise, we are still fans of the character of Mary who still shows himself as a strong woman who will not yield to the pressure of men. The feminist discourse is always present in the series and carried brilliantly mainly by Mary and Elizabeth, the two queens who are forced to hate themselves lest men steal their thrones from them . They both take the problems with their arms and do not shrink from any challenge and it is important to show strong women like them on the screen. In the end, we still really enjoyed following this last season, despite the lengths and our disinterestedness of the French plot, because the series always manages to entertain us and this remains its main goal. We laughed, we cried, We were shocked and amazed and we know that Reign will miss us next year. For consolation, know that you can always read or re-read our review of the final series of Reign , on melty. What did you think of this season?
The post Reign Season 4: A Successful Chapter? But when the life of the great figures of history is staged in a series it suddenly becomes the most addictive thing in your life and you sometimes even go to read what it really happened to try to Guess the sequel or establish theories . Well then certainly they are not going to serve you to pass your test of history at the Bac, but they are always welcome when you want to unwind after hours of revisions.
Reign
This series of the CW tells the story of Mary Stuart, queen of Scotland and temporarily queen of France, but in a funky and sexy way than in Secrets of History. Moreover, the series ended last night in the United States, we will finally be able to discover if Mary will also lose her head …
Vikings
Conquests, battles, seizures of power … It’s much more fun to follow with images and even more when it comes to bloodthirsty Vikings! And then, we were all fascinated by the character of Ragnar Lothbrok, as bad-ass as touching, who led his people with intelligence and bravery. If there was a quiz on him at the Bac, we would have easy 20/20 .
Outlander
Who would have thought that the revolution of the Jacobites in Scotland would be so exciting to follow? Thanks to the Outlander series in any case, we are downright. Maybe if our teachers resembled Sam Heughan, we’d be more attentive in class too, who knows!
The Tudors
Henry VIII of England is one of the most sulphurous monarchs in history and the series The Tudors is obviously in his image, thus A-DO-RE! Between betrayals, forbidden romances, battles for power … We do not miss a second before the series and, most, is that we do not need to remember dates.
The Crown
Much less sulfur than others, The Crown is nevertheless exciting to follow, especially because it is more contemporary and it is like discovering the greatest secrets of the Queen of England. Moreover, we are already looking forward with great impatience to season 2 which should arrive on Netflix in November 2017 .
These five series are by no means the only ones interested in different periods of history and there really is something for everyone, from Versailles to Downton Abbey , Mad Men, The Americans and The Borgias . Yes, often they take freedoms with the reality of the facts but it is only to make it more interesting, and they can always make you change your mind about history. What are your favorite historical series?
The post You listened to that slab in the course of history but you kiffes these series from real facts first appeared on The Siver Times.

You were then revealed who had not survived this final episode . Mary Stuart was expected to be executed under the orders of her cousin, Elizabeth. If this scene broke the hearts of all the fans of Reign, Mary nevertheless found peace. As for Catherine and Elizabeth, they were ready to begin the new chapter of their life and their ascension. Laurie McCarthy, the showrunner, gave additional explanations about the Reign Series Finale . She returned to the superb final scene where Mary finds her first love, Francis. “It was not the plan from the first day but at the beginning of their second season, their alchemy m ‘ Convinced that there would be no such great love for Mary … She faced so many conflicts, darkness and betrayal once she returned to Scotland. She was changed by more and more difficult events and choices, and knowing that the facts of her death were incontestable, I wanted to return to the joy she knew in her life and I thought she could mentally s’ Imagine there too. The idea and filming of the final scene came before Toby Regbo left the show, and long before we knew how many seasons would have. ” , She said. The idea and filming of the final scene came before Toby Regbo left the show, and long before we knew how many seasons would have. ” , She said.
Laurie McCarthy thought it was very important to give a happy ending to Mary even if it came after the death of Reign ‘s heroine . “We explored a very dark territory, played on things that are Really happened, a lot of things that would have happened, and some that happened later in his life or that are the subject of rumors. These scenes were hard to write and we all felt the pain of our character We wanted to feel her joy even in her last moments , “she explained. The showrunner also revealed why she had wanted to focus on the marriage of Mary and Darnley rather than jumping from events to events. ” Darnley was a complicated as well as faulty character, and I was so glad to have Will Kemp to play the role, so we gave everything for his second marriage and saw how the weaknesses of Darnley played in Mary’s downfall. But also, her marriage with Darnley was something daring that could have worked. It could have brought its power to England. It might have undermined Elizabeth in such a way that Mary could have unified the two nations … It was a strategic risk that also bothered Elizabeth and was part of her mistake. How can we not talk about it? “, She confessed. We then gave everything for her second marriage and saw how the weaknesses of Darnley played in the fall of Mary.
While the series Reign has not been renewed for a season 5, Laurie McCarthy would have liked to explore more in depth the life of the three Queens of the series . “I wanted to exploit everything: his third marriage, his flight … there would have been a western in another season, really, it would have been an interesting contrast with the machinations in France (a bloodbath, proportions we And I would have liked to see the rise of Elizabeth in England. However, there are undeniable economic considerations and the CW supported the show as long as it could of all Channel and studio were incredible partners, always opening the doors in a creative way, and I am deeply grateful for the time we had. ” , she confided. The showrunner also explained the fact that Catherine has finally chosen herself than her children. ” We the Prepared for her next chapter, when she had to manage her children fighting against each other, she realizes that some of them should never, never reign. It’s also worked like a Finale Series, as a highlight of a bow for it. At the beginning of the series, she would have done everything for her children (and for Francis she did), but as a hardened and surviving pragmatist she realized that sacrifices might not be worth it . “She concluded. The Reign universe is going to miss us a lot, but maybe Adelaide Kane could be back on TV as soon as Katherine Heigl from Gray’s Anatomy or Candice King from The Vampire Diaries. And you, what do you think of the revelations of Reign’s showrunner?
The post Reign season 4: Series Finale, the showrunner is explained on the end of the series first appeared on The Siver Times.

Predictably, Reign took us out handkerchiefs for his latest episode, and if we feel clearly that the plots have been accelerated this year and even more in the final series, it’s all very satisfied with this. If, as usual, writers take liberties with historical facts, the main lines of the fall of Mary Stuart are there . And even if we regret that everything goes so quickly, it must be admitted that Laurie McCarthy and the rest of the team did well to conclude their story in sixteen episodes after learning the cancellation of the show by the CW. Our three queens are obviously at the heart of the intrigues, And the feminist side of the series is once again highlighted through the speeches of Mary and Elizabeth in particular. After these general remarks, let’s go back to episode 16 of Season 4 of Reign , a little more in details.
In Scotland, it is a real jerk of fight to find the newborn of Mary and fortunately it is at this time that James is back to the court. It is he who will find the child and bring it back to his sister, who will decide to call her James in honor of her savior. Mary, who refuses to live in constant fear that Darnley can come back and hurt her child, ends up accepting Bothwell’s proposal and authorizes her to kill her husband, the King of Scotland . If the queen was not ready to go before the murder before, the arrival of her child changes the situation. Unfortunately, nothing happens as planned. First, the explosion does not kill Darnley and Bothwell is forced to finish it with his hands. But, The Scottish Lords turn against him and denounce his crime with John Knox to secure their rear. Bothwell and Mary are arrested for murder …
Meanwhile, in England, Elizabeth is faced with the consequences of her actions, concerning the Spanish fleet but also its connection with Gideon. After killing Jane with her hands, Elizabeth must find a way to get rid of the archduke who presented her with a new marriage contract, much less pleasant than the first. Then comes the letter that Mary wrote in Reign’s Season 4 episode 15 , in which she calls her cousin for help and vows her to give up the English throne. Without the pressure of Scotland and Mary on her throne, Elizabeth is free to remain single, no longer needing the support of Austria or a union with the Archduke. If Mary allows Elizabeth to retain her freedom and power, The Queen of England will not have the same attentions towards her cousin … We still remember the moment when, dressed as a soldier, Elizabeth joined her men, ready to lead her army against the Spanish armada . “I would not bow to any man ,” she chants to her troops and one can only think “YASS QUEEN” .
As for the rest of the season, the French plot is by far the least exciting of the episode and the end of Catherine’s storyline is strange to say the least. Magic, plan of three, a witch who does not die … Yes, yes, we are well in France! If Catherine finally managed to end the quarrel between her two sons about Nicole by asking Emmanuelle to eliminate it, it would seem that this would have unfortunate consequences. First of all, Emmanuelle wants to be paid via a three-way plan with Catherine and Narcisse which allows her to carry in her the child of the devil – apparently . Then she revealed to Catherine that the plan of her sons to destroy Spain would not work. Either she allows them to do so, and Charles will not long remain on the throne, Or she tries to stop them and will be blamed and killed – nice . For the first time, Catherine chose to protect herself rather than her children . Little thought for Claude who really does not have the right to a happy ending, because after losing Leith, she also seems to have lost Luke … Poor Claude, you deserved better.
Finally, the series ends after a jump in the time of 21 years, where we find Mary the day of its execution. Despite a last attempt on the part of his son James – who is now an adult and King of Scotland – with Elizabeth to stop the execution of his mother, Elizabeth makes him understand that she will not change her mind. Either he accepts the execution of his mother and becomes the heir of the English crown, which will finally unite the two kingdoms, or he can save his mother. After so many years, Elizabeth is always fearful of her cousin. Fortunately for our little hearts, we do not witness the execution of Mary and instead we find her in the arms of Francis! Mary has endured all this but death brings her together to her forever love. It is a bitter-sweet end that Reign offers us for his final series , with flashes of the life of the queen of Scotland that bring us balm to heart after this tragic end. In Scotland, episode 14 begins while Mary takes back her castle with the help of her allies and has executed one of the people responsible for the rebellion and death of Rizzio. Unfortunately for her, the two most important traitors are also those who are untouchable: John Knox and Darnley . The latter poses difficulties to Mary since the beginning and the queen of Scotland no longer knows whether he is an enemy or an ally. She keeps changing her mind about him, much to Bothwell’s displeasure. Finally, After discovering the horrors made by Narcisse during the episode – a big thank you to the director for not showing us what was in the box … – Mary decides that she must present a unified front if She wants the wave of vengeance to calm down. Unfortunately for her, it is discovered that Darnley is still plotting against her, but also that the king of Scotland is most certainly crazy.
Moreover, what Elizabeth saw in England during this episode of Reign is much more tragic. The Queen of England still faces the same dilemma: she loves a man she can not publicly marry. She believes she can make the best of her situation by marrying the Archduke and keeping Gideon near her at the court. However, when Gideon discovers that she has already slept with the Archduke and agreed to banish him, he realizes that he refuses to share the one he loves with another. Listening to her heart, Elizabeth then breaks off her engagement with the archduke and unites with Gideon in an abandoned chapel. While the two lovebirds enjoy this moment of happiness, Gideon collapses. Narcissus not only castrated John Knox to avenge Lola’s death.
The French plot always remains to our eyes the least interesting, especially since at the moment we do not see at all how it will be linked to the other two intrigues . However, there is still quite a lot of stuff in this episode 14 of Reign’s season 4 , started with a little deepening of the character of Henri. Since his arrival, he is only seen as an arrogant young man, and there it is discovered that he likes to dress as a woman, that he feels himself more powerful. It helps us to have a lot more empathy for him. For his part, Luke asks Charles to grant to him and Claude a cancellation of their marriage because, in spite of the feelings that it has for her, the heart of Claude still belongs to Leith. This little conversation gives Charles some ideas, Who is supposed to choose the future queen of France among Spanish contenders. As we know, the children of Catherine De Medicis like to make only their head and Charles announces before all the court that Nicole will be the future queen, which rages the Spanish ambassador. This decision should have heavy repercussions on Charles and France and it could lose the support of the Kingdom of Spain. What did you think of this episode? Episode 10 of Season 4 of Reign is still very pleasant to follow and there is so much going on that you never have time to get bored – this is surely the advantage of having three places Different actions . In Scotland, now that she is married to a possible heir to the English throne, Mary is determined to do whatever she can to dethrone Elizabeth and reign over England and Scotland. To do so, she meets a certain Hamilton, a Scottish and Protestant nobleman, very close to John Knox and an enemy of the Darnley family. You would have understood it, Nothing is simple to ensure an alliance with Hamilton and Mary goes so far as to offer him a place in the private council. Everything seems to be going well, but it was not counting on the revenge of John Knox. Since he learned that James had used his sister to spy on him, he is determined to take revenge and he takes advantage of it to sabotage the future alliance between Mary and Hamilton.
In order to save face, Mary is obliged to banish James from Scotland and this scene has broken our hearts. Once again Mary must make sacrifices to protect her throne and Greer does not fail to remind her of it. Is Mary not making a grave mistake in removing the only one who has always been there to protect her? And where is James going to go? Meanwhile, in England, Elizabeth enjoys the pleasures of being with Gideon. Decidedly, the latter soon changed his gun. But with the marriage of Mary who has just arrived, Elizabeth feels once again the pressure to find a husband and her birthday becomes the ideal moment for her to be courted. But as the last time, the man Elizabeth wants is not the one she should. She wants Gideon and he seems ready to live this secret love with her. Oh, it does not bode well …
Finally, in France, Catherine still lives with the fear that Leeza forces Charles to abdicate so that his younger, Henry, takes his place. Catherine is not ready to lose another son and she again asks Narcissus for help to protect Charles, while a group of Protestants took Catholics hostage. Narcissus discovered that Nicole was not interested in Charles but only by the frivolities of the court of France and also by him. Once it is not customary, Narcissus must play his legendary persuasion to convince Nicole that he also loves her so that she continues to have a positive influence on Charles. The latter then settles this story of taking hostages by sending the royal army to save the Catholics, a decision that will certainly please Leeza. But while Catherine is already rejoicing at this positive campaign in favor of Charles and the fact that her son has finally become himself again, she discovers that Henry has arrived at the castle . Henry appears to us as an arrogant prince and we feel that Catherine is not pleased to see him. It promises for the future! Let’s start with Scotland where we find Mary and Lord Darnley little by little falling in love with each other. However, Mary still refuses to let her guard down, despite the fact that they are now engaged. Their flirting was soon interrupted by Englishmen sent by Elizabeth in order to prevent their union. The danger is real for the two lovebirds, besides that defying Elizabeth would lead to a declaration of war. Moreover, once again, The latter shows how she is malignant since she takes Mary in her own trap by sending a man to kill Darnley in the place where he is supposed to be safe. If the latter comes safe and sound, Mary is upset and finally understands why she refuses to listen to her heart: she is afraid of losing him as she lost Francis . Finally, Darnley convinces her with the least reassuring talk in the world. Mary seems to like the idea of living dangerously by her side anyway.
Meanwhile, in England, Elizabeth has not only the assassination of Lord Darnley to orchestrate. She promised Gideon that she would do everything in her power to help him with her daughter, and she now has to prove that she has only one word. She then brought one of the best doctors to look after the little one. Everything seems to go perfectly, until the Queen of England discovers that this man is a charlatan and that he did not cure the illness of Gideon’s daughter at all. Elizabeth, still as formidable as she is intelligent, confronts the doctor and realizes that she will have to announce to her only friend that her daughter will not be able to heal. This plot greatly humanizes Mary’s rival and makes her character ever more complicated to hate .
In France, nothing has changed since Charles disappeared and left the kingdom without a king. Moreover, Leeza is back and we will have to explain again to him the suspicious absence of the monarch. If Catherine and Narcissus have a plan, everything will crumble when the men of Leeza find a young boy wearing a crown and announcing that a young man gave it to him no longer wanting. She then decides to regain control of the situation and this does not promise anything promising for Catherine. For her part, Claude is enjoying the benefits of the market she spent with her new husband with Leith. Whether between major announcements such as engagement Pippa Middleton or the formalization of the couple formed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, or travel, it has not been idle. It’s time to take stock of the highlights of 2016 Prince Harry, Kate Middleton , or the Queen of England. However, the last hours of the year were a source of concern for the entire royal family. For several weeks, the Queen Elizabeth II is suffering. Still weakened, it would be a “bad cold” that would not go down. Should we worry?
As we know, Queen Elizabeth II is a fighter. She has rarely broken her obligations since the beginning of her reign, to believe she would not be 90 years old. However, iron health of the royal grandmother of George and Charlotte, the children of Kate and William , is a real issue today. It has been almost two weeks since the Queen did not appear in public. His death was even announced on social networks. Obviously, these were mere rumors. Despite his New Year wishes, Elizabeth II missed two important events in recent weeks , the Christmas Mass and the New Year. We hope that the sovereign will quickly recover from this flu, which is fleeting hope.
The post Queen Elizabeth II suffers, anxiety rises! first appeared on The Siver Times.
