Reign Season 4: Episode 14, a new tragic death, our critic

It is still a dirty episode for our favorite queens … As we get closer to the final series of Reign , nothing makes life easier for Mary or Elizabeth and it is with surprise that we Discovers that it is Narcissus who causes them all this pain. In Scotland, episode 14 begins while Mary takes back her castle with the help of her allies and has executed one of the people responsible for the rebellion and death of Rizzio. Unfortunately for her, the two most important traitors are also those who are untouchable: John Knox and Darnley . The latter poses difficulties to Mary since the beginning and the queen of Scotland no longer knows whether he is an enemy or an ally. She keeps changing her mind about him, much to Bothwell’s displeasure. Finally, After discovering the horrors made by Narcisse during the episode – a big thank you to the director for not showing us what was in the box … – Mary decides that she must present a unified front if She wants the wave of vengeance to calm down. Unfortunately for her, it is discovered that Darnley is still plotting against her, but also that the king of Scotland is most certainly crazy.
Moreover, what Elizabeth saw in England during this episode of Reign is much more tragic. The Queen of England still faces the same dilemma: she loves a man she can not publicly marry. She believes she can make the best of her situation by marrying the Archduke and keeping Gideon near her at the court. However, when Gideon discovers that she has already slept with the Archduke and agreed to banish him, he realizes that he refuses to share the one he loves with another. Listening to her heart, Elizabeth then breaks off her engagement with the archduke and unites with Gideon in an abandoned chapel. While the two lovebirds enjoy this moment of happiness, Gideon collapses. Narcissus not only castrated John Knox to avenge Lola’s death.
The French plot always remains to our eyes the least interesting, especially since at the moment we do not see at all how it will be linked to the other two intrigues . However, there is still quite a lot of stuff in this episode 14 of Reign’s season 4 , started with a little deepening of the character of Henri. Since his arrival, he is only seen as an arrogant young man, and there it is discovered that he likes to dress as a woman, that he feels himself more powerful. It helps us to have a lot more empathy for him. For his part, Luke asks Charles to grant to him and Claude a cancellation of their marriage because, in spite of the feelings that it has for her, the heart of Claude still belongs to Leith. Ah, nothing is ever easy for the characters of Reign , whether in Scotland, France or England, each queen has to face disturbances, even new enemies. Episode 10 of Season 4 of Reign is still very pleasant to follow and there is so much going on that you never have time to get bored – this is surely the advantage of having three places Different actions . In Scotland, now that she is married to a possible heir to the English throne, Mary is determined to do whatever she can to dethrone Elizabeth and reign over England and Scotland. To do so, she meets a certain Hamilton, a Scottish and Protestant nobleman, very close to John Knox and an enemy of the Darnley family. You would have understood it, Nothing is simple to ensure an alliance with Hamilton and Mary goes so far as to offer him a place in the private council. Everything seems to be going well, but it was not counting on the revenge of John Knox. Since he learned that James had used his sister to spy on him, he is determined to take revenge and he takes advantage of it to sabotage the future alliance between Mary and Hamilton.
In order to save face, Mary is obliged to banish James from Scotland and this scene has broken our hearts. Once again Mary must make sacrifices to protect her throne and Greer does not fail to remind her of it. Is Mary not making a grave mistake in removing the only one who has always been there to protect her? And where is James going to go? Meanwhile, in England, Elizabeth enjoys the pleasures of being with Gideon. Decidedly, the latter soon changed his gun. But with the marriage of Mary who has just arrived, Elizabeth feels once again the pressure to find a husband and her birthday becomes the ideal moment for her to be courted. But as the last time, the man Elizabeth wants is not the one she should. She wants Gideon and he seems ready to live this secret love with her. Oh, it does not bode well …
Finally, in France, Catherine still lives with the fear that Leeza forces Charles to abdicate so that his younger, Henry, takes his place. Discover the confessions of Adelaide Kane, the star of Reign, with whom we were able to discuss Reign season 4, pay attention to the spoilers!
Last Monday, we had the chance to meet the actress Adelaide Kane, star of the series Reign and therefore the interpreter of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots to show the CW. What can you tell us about Season 4?
Adelaide Kane: It’ll be great! Season 4 is great. I think this is our best season. […] It’s very fun, the occasion was to see her live this. So there will still be a lot of deaths, but it will not be as devastating as in season 3.
If you could bring back one of the characters of death, who would it be?
Adelaide Kane: Francis. Of course Francis! My new husband would not be here, he would disappear in a mysterious way! (Laughs)
If you could play in another series now, what would it be?
Adelaide Kane: Westworld or Outlander. […] I watched the first season of the plane and Westworld Westworld is great, so fascinating! Yes, I’d love to play in Westworld, fingers crossed (laughs) !
What can you tell us about the new characters?
Adelaide Kane: For the Scottish Court, we Will Kemp who plays Lord Darnley, my second husband and this is a very fun but also very problematic relationship, and Will’s great. It’s a fantastic Darnley, like the little dirty boyfriend you want to hate but you like anyway. And then we also have Adam Croasdell playing Bothwell, who is also very nice to work and very fun even if we could not take this plot as far as we would have liked it because the series ends. We would have explored this more during Season 5 if we had been renewed. We also have new characters at the Court of France, and plenty of interesting new intrigues in this new season.
Did not you have to work with Megan Follows?
Adelaide Kane: Yes! I missed working with Megan. But her character makes a trip to Scotland, I would not tell you why, but she comes to Scotland so we could work together for some scenes, which was very nice. But I really do not want to work with her because she is such a good actress and I feel like I have always learned so much from her side. But, she’s in France, I could not steal her!
What can you tell us about the series you’ve never said before?
Adelaide Kane: Someone gets sick. Someone, in the new season, falls ill and goes mad, just like King Henry II … I can not tell you who else, I’m going to have problems, but someone gets crazy, really crazy.
Can you tease Mary a bit in this last season?
Adelaide Kane: I think Mary is growing very fast in season 4. She is desperately trying to follow the choices she has made. Some of the choices she made are not the wisest and she will be questioning again. There will be a sort of power struggle between her and Lord Darnley and even more than before the difficulty of being a woman in power with men who try to take him [will be emphasized, note] . Last night, Emma found herself in a completely different life than his own in the Midseason Finale of season 6 of Once Upon A Time . But she managed to defeat the Evil Queen? This is the future Gideon who became wicked! In the Enchanted Forest, Regina and Emma are getting ready to go when Robin shoots them. Regina troubled to see his “True Love” leaves the gate closed and the two women remain blocked. Here are two twists we did not see coming, worthy of a Midseason Finale because they make us ask ourselves many questions. This episode was quite good and offered a lot of suspense and intrigue. We can not wait to see more! However it was not until March. To wait until then also see if Eion Bailey aka Pinocchio will soon be back in Season 6 of Once Upon A Time .
