Gray’s Anatomy Season 13: Our Mixed Record of the Season

Check out our record of season 13 of Gray’s Anatomy, which ended May 18th on the American channel ABC.
After a twelfth season at the top, we were expecting a lot from Gray’s Anatomy season 13 and unfortunately, we can not say that it lived up to our expectations as we emerge from these 24 episodes with a mixed impression. What is most regretted most is that the development of the characters seems to have taken a secondary place in order to put surgical operations back on the stage. If it’s always interesting to keep up with the work of the Gray Sloan Memorial doctors, it’s their lives that we’re most passionate about. And, to add to this, many of the proposed intrigues have either had a taste of déjà vu, Or they were left in suspense for several episodes – even until the end of the season – giving the impression that the writers were writing without worrying about what had been done before. The main victims of this are obviously Owen and Amelia who find themselves trapped in a more than wobbly, repetitive and irresolute intrigue . While the pregnancy of Caterina Scorsone was a problem for the screenwriters, we remember that they managed the situation better last year with Jessica Capshaw for example. Owen and Amelia are unfortunately not the only victims of a lack of deepening of the intrigues this season, as the couples Jolex and Japril have also largely paid the price . For the first, it is certainly once again the pregnancy of the actress who creates complications and shows a lack of imagination on the part of the writers, but for the second one is always wondering what happened . The series offered us a beautiful episode centered on Jackson and April in Montana – which is certainly one of the episodes we’ve chosen this season . And we never had a follow-up or a conversation between the two characters, especially with regard to the fact that they had reconnected together and what it meant for them.
Moreover, the series seems to struggle to renew its casting, since the new characters often have a very low sympathy capital and it is really difficult to attach, certainly because the friendly interactions between the characters are less and less present. Besides, we were wondering if Gray’s Anatomy did not need some new blood for season 14 . However, everything is far from being thrown in this thirteenth season of Gray’s Anatomy which nonetheless offered us high moments in emotions or under high tension . These include the episode in Montana, where Meredith and Nathan are on a turbulent plane, visiting Jo, Bailey and Arizona in a prison or the last two episodes of the season, Offering a beautiful outing to the character of Jerrika Hinton. Gray’s Anatomy will always be dear to our hearts no matter what, but we really hope that the intrigues of season 14 will be more innovative and especially less disjointed. What do you think ?

Representation is good. Good performance is better! A short guide to LGBT friendly series that do good.
Representation is a concept that looks simple enough but that, apparently, is always as hard to apply for some showrunners. As they say, it takes everything to make a world and see lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters in the series, it always brings a certain touch of realism and open-mindedness some of whom would do well to take inspiration . Yes, the series with straight white men in lead is nice, but it feels good to see something else also not? We propose you a small list of LGBT friendly series in which the representation is not only there, but more importantly, realistic or happy or better: the 3 at the same time.
Gray’s Anatomy
In Gray’s Anatomy , everyone is treated the same way and that is his strength. Airplane accident, amputation, car accident, risky childbirth and other horrors that the fans know well … The characters can be straight, bi, gay or other, Shonda Rhimes does not give anybody a gift and it’s nice to see – finally Way of speaking . Yes, via Callie, Arizona or even couples of patients of the same kind, the series shows us that it is possible not to define its characters by their sexual orientation , without passing it over in silence. Thanks Shonda!
The L Word
Everything is in the title but since the word is still a bit scary today, it is said with you: lesbian – but it also works for love, lust and other themes according to the interpretation of each . Completed for several years – is also expected over – The L Word we sometimes delves with great detail in circles lesbians in Los Angeles with Bette, Tina, Alice, Shane, Dana and others. With Amy discovering her bisexuality and her nascent love for her BFF while rejecting the labels, Shane who assumes her colorful homosexuality, Lauren who educates on her intersexuality and Noah, discreet transgender, the representation there is at the top and all delicacy. In short, it is only pleasure.
Transparent
Despite a major negative point since the transgender character of the series is not a transgender actress, Transparent remains a small nugget to be enjoyed with pleasure. His freed and sometimes a bit crazy characters have something out of the ordinary and show that there is really no shame in being a different hair.
Looking
All the good things have an end but Looking’s was perhaps a little too premature and this is his biggest flaw. With Jonathan Groff charming as Patrick as possible , Looking takes us on a tour of the gay community of San Francisco and his love dramas, mixing humor and touching scenes.

One only has to look at a few episodes to realize that Sense8 is THE definition of self-acceptance and love for all . Tolerance and solidarity are at the heart of the Netflix series and there is nothing to say, nothing to see the sensates pick up with a single voice “What’s Up” to warm your heart on days of great sorrow ( And the others). All we have to do is to hope that, like them, we all one day come to put our differences aside and retain only the essential. Yes, we can always dream …
Obviously these are not the only series that include LGBT characters in their stories in an adroit way since Queer as Folk is also a cult of the genre, How to Get Away with Murder proves that network chains can show a lot if the will is there . And Shameless US , Orange is the New Black , Wynonna Earp and others still extend the list, do not hesitate to share your favorites! So, what do you think ?

Gray’s Anatomy Season 13: Episode 17, Maggie discovers the truth, our critic

Last night, the American channel ABC broadcast episode 17 of season 13 of Gray’s Anatomy. Then discover our review of “Till I Hear It From You”.
If there is one thing that we can all agree on in this thirteenth season of Gray’s Anatomy , it is that an episode happens without a character irritates us strongly. This week, it is Amelia Shepherd’s turn to win the palm of the most horrifying character. She takes the torch after Jackson. Amelia is officially back in the hospital in episode 17 of season 13 of Gray’s Anatomy and it’s not necessarily for our pleasure. If it were thought that his return would be synonymous with reconciliation and communication with Owen, this is far from the case. Both spouses find themselves working on the same medical case and instead of bringing them together, this will create new tensions. Owen does not understand Amelia’s behavior, and Amelia blames him for stifling her and categorically refuses to tell her the truth about what happened to her . Amelia goes so far as to mention Cristina, which, between us, is really a low blow on her part.
This plot always sounds false, especially because Amelia went from “I absolutely want children” to “oh my God but you put too much pressure on me with your baby, Owen,” and we can not wait for the two Characters move on to something else. If all seems lost between them during the episode, the look they exchange at the very end is perhaps a warning sign that they can still repair the broken pots. Meanwhile, Maggie still does not understand why her mother wants to make a breast augmentation. Her behavior with her is really hard, especially when you know the real reason for her coming to the hospital. Diana still refuses to tell her daughter the truth, Preferring to tell him after the operation so that this story of cancer is more than the past. Fortunately, Jackson insists and, as might be expected, Maggie is totally upset when her mother tells her everything.
Meanwhile, Meredith tries to find out if she wants to try something with Riggs or not. Vulnerable, endearing, unsure of himself, he makes a nice statement to Meredith to prove to him what he feels for her . This moment will unfortunately soon be interrupted by Jackson who comes to look for Meredith because Maggie needs her. Her mother’s cancer is more aggressive than they thought and Maggie is going to need the support of her sisters. Will this put a stop to the perhaps nascent relationship between Meredith and Nathan? Finally, This episode had very good things to offer, although we still regret the very annoying behavior of Amelia which forces us a little to scream on our screen. Sad news for the fans of Gray’s Anatomy! One of the actors will bow to the end of this season 13 …
While the 13 season of Grey’s Anatomy in full swing, a new beginning will soon hit the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital hard. After Sandra Oh (Cristina), Patrick Dempsey (Derek) or Sara Ramirez (Callie), it is the turn of Jerrika Hinton (Stephanie) to say goodbye to the series . Decidedly, the departures follow! Yet nothing seems to stop the quality and success of the show Shonda Rhimes . One will not without the other, they are almost inseparable and are present every day for support. They passed through so many trials that their relationship is all the greater and virtually indestructible. We are convinced that in future episodes of the season 13 of Grey’s Anatomy, Meredith and Alex will end up as a couple, even if the fans are rather mixed by this choice of Shonda Rhimes. The fate persists against Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy but life does not present to Matt’s The Vampire Diaries. Which of the two characters is the unluckiest?

Meredith poor! The heroine of Grey’s Anatomy is often cited as being the most unfortunate and unlucky TV character .
