While waiting to know when the series will return, let’s back on 5 key moments of the season 4 of Vikings!
Highlights! While we were wondering when Vikings season 5 would start , on the American cable channel History , it’s time to go back with the 5 key moments we were offered to see in the latest episode.
THE BOND IN TIME
We had not seen him coming, yet the final midseason ended in an impressive leap in time. This one is of capital importance in the second half of season 4 of Vikings since the cards are redistributed. Ragnar lost his prestige, Bjorn rose as the true leader of Kattegat, governed by an Aslaug carried on the drink. He also allowed us to get acquainted with the four sons of Ragnar so each one presents a facet of the personality of their father. This leap in time has changed the course of the series’s history and we just regret not having had an episode focusing on Ragnar’s experience during the past lapse of time .
LAGERTHA TAKES POWER ON KATTEGAT
Although we may wonder why she waited so long to take action, Lagertha finally takes power over Kattegat, killing Aslaug in passing. Her revenge is accomplished and she finally has what she believes to be her own. This takeover had consequences on our perception of Lagertha, but also on the Viking city since it has great ambitions for Kattegat. It puts in place the construction of defensive fortifications and these new stakes evidently bring about new confrontations. During this half-season, Kattegat has gone from being a simple village to a central character and we expect major events to take place there.
THE FIRST APPARITION OF HEAHMUND
The first scene where we discover the character played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, on which we told you more and which will be at the heart of season 5 of Vikings , is not transcendent and does not teach us much, if it Is that this religious has an impressive sword and that he does not respect his vow of chastity. However, we know that Heahmund will deliver impressive fights against our warriors and that he will be their main enemy in the next episodes . We strongly urge him to take action.
THE DEPARTURE OF FLOKI
This event only takes place in the final season, but it is important for the future. Indeed, it is a journey of a new kind that will be offered to the character, an initiatory journey where he will be carried by the waters to an unknown destination. Thanks to Floki, we should meet new peoples, new cultures and new religions . Before finding our warriors, Floki must find peace and this path promises great moments.
THE DEATH OF RAGNAR
There have been many deaths throughout the season and all are important, nevertheless that of Ragnar is major since it marks the end of an era. We knew it would happen sooner or later, but we did not expect it at that time, not half the second half of the season. Although incredibly well directed and almost poetic, the death of Ragnar was a difficult time . His body was not found by his sons, the actor assures him that he will not return, but we always hope to see his spirit, beyond his voice that often resonated after his death. Ragnar is dead, but he remains the hero of Vikings through his most beautiful legacy: his sons! What are your 5 key moments?
The post Vikings season 4: Back on 5 key moments! first appeared on The Siver Times.

Michael Hirst, the creator of Vikings, tells us more about the deaths of SPOILERS, about the new character and about the end of the series!
He says it all! While the promotion of Vikings’ season 5 begins and we are telling the 5 things to remember from the first video promo, Michael Hirst has made many revelations about the sequel in several interviews! First of all, there are many who wonder about the intrigues involving Rollo and Floki. Did the characters come to the end of their adventures? “No, no, they did not leave at all, they will be back, absolutely!” The good news is that the story of Rollo ended without any great brilliance. Other characters will not return like Helga, embodied by Maude Hirst, the creator’s own daughter. Michael Hist is particularly income on when it was announced that her character would die: “It was pretty exciting to talk to his death Maudie This is not an easy thing to do as it was the end.. Correct and inevitable of the plot, but it was not easy. This is Vikings, so you know that many people will die. This is often difficult to deal with the death of major characters anyway. Was quite traumatic to portray Ragnar ‘s death, but it’ s different when it comes to my own daughters, so we survive and die, but I have to be as objective as I can be. was the end of a scenario where I took this character as far as possible. as a father, writer and producer, I had to make the right decision ” .
This death will certainly serious consequences for the character of Floki and it tells us a bit more: “It will definitely travel, as alluded He says his life is over, or that the life he has. He has lost all three people he has loved most in life: his daughter, Ragnar and his wife, and he will submit to the will of the gods, and we know that he is a pagan fundamentalist. Has finished the life he has lived in. He will submit to the gods and if it is the will of the gods that he will die, he will accept it, of course. He will also submit if they have a purpose for him, if his destiny is to do something else. Basically, he will build a small boat for himself and let him sail to the unknown, before discovering what it means I spoke with my historical advisor, Justin Pollard, and asked him what he thought, and he told me it was not stupid because at that time many Christian missionaries were doing the same thing . Of themselves, they boarded small boats, believing they were guided by the will of God. They crossed the oceans, I guess many of them died, but some of them have landed in extraordinary places around the world. And so it was not such a crazy idea after all ” .
Michael Hirst also returns on the controversial death without historical accuracy, Sigurd: . “Obviously, this is not a documentary, I’m not saying it happened, we know that many of Ragnar son perished in various ways Thus, as a writer, I feel free to consider their ends in different ways and still be realistic. The main point is to be plausible, realistic and truthful, not to be We can not be accurate because we do not know, so Ivar killing his brother just seemed something Ivar would do. “Ivar is quickly becoming one of the major forces in the series Alex Hogh is a wonderful actor; character is amazing because you never know what he’ll do next. And that’s what I wanted to show is that with Ivar you will never know what he will do next ” . So is Ivar completely unpredictable or does he know what he’s going to do next? “He’s in conflict, we should all have a lot of sympathy for Ivar because it’s the way he grew up, he’s disabled and he’s been disadvantaged, I do not want the public to ever disagree with Ivar He is an extreme, almost bipolar person, so he gets angry and defends himself, he was disadvantaged so he had to try hard to be equal to his brothers and it made him aggressive in some Situations, his brother can push him too far and Ivar has no moral control, he does not know when it is appropriate to stop or when it is appropriate not to do anything. He did that when he was a kid If you remember, he killed a boy because he was frustrated and angry, the same Ivar, and as a writer he is exactly the kind of character you want to write, as a writer, you do not necessarily know what he will do next ” .
Next season we will see Ivar confront Heahmund , Michael Hirst says their relationship: .. “He and Ivar have a very complicated and interesting relationship Heahmund is a real person, there was what was called a warrior bishop C ‘ Is a new interesting character as someone who could stand up to the Vikings, it was wonderful when we chose Johnny to play this role because these guys are strangers. Templars, they were completely mad, Johnny is the forerunner of this, people fighting a holy war against the pagans, we have just introduced this character who is a devout and Catholic Christian but also passionate. very confrontational, passionate, a confident. it leads the first in a conflict and then into a deeper relationship with Ivar. it’s an extraordinary relationship that develops ” . Another central point of season 5 will Kattegat: “Kattegat is a very attractive trading station for other Vikings and other kings and so it will remain at the heart of the series Construction began at the bottom of the studio in Ireland with three. The real Kattegat has grown and will always be threatened, and the sons of Ragnar will always fight for it because it is the true spiritual home of their family. king or queen has a huge share of the legacy and spirit of Ragnar. in season five, people are still fighting for it. It’s still an important place for us ” .
Finally, he came back on the changes made as each season now has 20 episodes instead of usual 10: “This is a new challenge for me the first time we filmed during the winter and although the. Ireland has a temperate climate, it is cold and it is raining Ragnar’s death has been turned into the worst conditions I’ve ever seen on a shoot: making 20 rather than 10 puts enormous pressure on me sometimes because I work with three Different directors on six or eight different scripts simultaneously, we all feel that the series is getting bigger and better, we are now the ninth world series and the audience is growing. feel defeated by the challenge of making all those extra episodes, it is a fact privilege ” . However, the end is prepared as he reveals: “I know the end of the series I was in New York last week and I unveiled the end of the series History MGM and I think we can.. move forward with confidence towards the end of the series I always imagined, and that will be a huge surprise ” . So will season 5 be the last? “No. All I can say for now is that we’re filming season five, but we certainly have a sixth season” . We can hope for another 40 episodes! Lately, we dévoilions you when Season 5 will air the Vikings! What do you think of the creator’s comments?
The post Vikings season 4: Deaths of SPOILERS, new character and end of the series, the creator says it all! first appeared on The Siver Times.

While we have just discovered a first video promo for season 5 of Vikings, here are the 5 things to remember!
That promises to be heavy! While we were wondering when would be broadcast season 5 of Vikings , the US channel History offers us to discover a first trailer that we learn a lot about what future episodes will offer us and offer us some revelations expected. Here are 5 things to remember about the first pictures of the next season:
TORVI
The first of these concerns Torvi. The last time we saw her, we might have thought she had died during the attack on Kattegat. Obviously, this is not the case and Bjorn’s wife will always be one of the faithful warriors of Lagertha in the next episodes. It should certainly end up in the middle of a love triangle if Bjorn continues his affair with Astrid.
LAGERTHA / UBBE
We had already perceived the trouble of the queen of Kattegat against Ubbe, whose physical reminds him enormously young Ragnar. A memory that could make her reproach him, so similar to the only man she has ever loved. In the promo video, we discover them very close, as if they were plotting together. Are we going to their budding love or Ubbe will he ally with Lagertha to avenge the death of Sigurd by attacking Ivar?
HARALD
As we know, Harald’s ambition is to put all of Norway at his feet. We have every reason to believe that he is the one who ordered the attack on Kattegat, led by Egil. Now it remains to see how he will gain more power and if he will eventually do harm to our heroes. The one who has always been an ally of Kattegat, not without hiding his own ambitions, could he become one of the main rivals of Bjorn and Ivar? We have every reason to believe in the sovereign sit seeing in the trailer, and imagine that it is splitting that will create that will lead to the decline of the Viking empire!
WRATH OF THE GODS
Religion may be more important than ever in Vikings season 5! So far, we have had stories involving religion and others involving battles. In view of the trailer, we have every reason to believe that these two subjects will be one with the emergence of the character of Heahmund. This religious warrior, member of a faction precursor of the Order of the Knights Templar, will attack our heroes. We see, violence should go up a notch, the blood flowing in the dead be many and our heroes be in great danger!
THE BEGINNING OF THE END
Finally, we have a disturbing statement by the light: next season will be the beginning of the end! With the death of Ragnar, we knew that the series would be enormously interested in his son Ivar, another Viking legend. Ragnar’s story has occupied 45 episodes of the series, so we can hope that it will be the same for Ivar, which would lead us to a season 6. Waiting to know if we saw right, while treating Of the rise of the son of Ragnar, it is the decline of the empire vikings that will be question! The end has never been so close. Should we prepare ourselves to say goodbye to these warriors of another age? Between shooting, intrigues, spoilers … we told you everything we knew about the next episodes of season 5 of Vikings! What were the moments that marked you in the trailer of season 5?
The post Vikings season 5: 5 things to remember from the promo video! first appeared on The Siver Times.

A few weeks ago, it was learned that the series Vikings, whose History channel is now broadcasting the fourth season, was going to add a little more to its cast by welcoming the Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. His name may have told you nothing, but his face is not unknown to you, it was especially the main character of the film Match Point directed by Woody Allen , in which he shared the stage with Scarlett Johansson. But fans of TV series also know him as King Henry VIII in The Tudors or as Dracula in the eponymous series. While the role of Jonathan Rhys Meyers in season 5 was unveiled Vikings with a first photo , it is expected that this pretty face does everything except the numbers in the series. But it is still necessary that its role allows it.
And yes, we know that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will incarnate a bishop named Heahmund, who will be the right arm of Aethelwulf, the son of King Ecbert. Historical figure that really existed, Heahmund is hardly recognized as having played a primordial role in the war against the Vikings. Above all, most fans had rather relied on the fact that Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays an adult version of Alfred, or even of Magnus the son of Queen Kwentrith. Should we be disappointed, however? Well no ! Indeed the creator of Vikings Michael Hirst recently described Heahmund as one of the forerunners of the Templar Order. To make it short, the Templars had in their ranks of warrior monks, not really followers of nonviolence . We must therefore expect to see our friend John participate in several confrontations we imagine already epic against Ivar or Bjorn, who are vying to become the worthy successor of SPOILERS Vikings in season 4 . He will disembark from season 4, in his final season. Quickly!
The post Vikings season 5: What place for Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the series? first appeared on The Siver Times.
