David Pujadas and his Cup of Playmobil will experience this Thursday night on the occasion of their last JT. Attached to the universe of series, the task is so hard, that chains and unscrupulous producers try to continue the adventure despite the departure of the hero . While it would often have been better to unplug everything …
JD in “Scrubs”
Do not piss me on trying to make me believe it’s raining. Scrubs without Zach Braff, the soul and marrow of the series, is an insult to all the fans who have made Josephine their distributor of happiness for 8 seasons. Yet, ABC still tried a new formula starting in the 9th season, with a group of youngsters (including Dave Franco) . It seems Bill Lawrence, the creator, wanted to change the name of the series but that it ran into the refusal of the channel. Result of the races: a critical failure, despite some appearances of our national JD in this season without flavor, which served as an end clap.
Charlie Harper in “My Uncle Charlie”
“My fans may be watching TV for a minute, but in the end no one has anything to do with your bad show without me . It is little to say that Charlie Sheen had bad when he learned that he would be cleared of his series. At the same time, how could it be otherwise seen all that he swung on the face of the showrunner Chuck Lorre? Selected piece of his famous letter on TMZ: “I have moved my ass eight years to give life to your vision, your dream, in exchange you give me a nightmare, poor stupid idiot, dirty ass hole” . Fired by CBS because of his words, but his addiction problems, the Actor saw Ashton Kutcher take his place in the No. 1 sitcom in the US at the time. The first episode of Mila Kunis’s boyfriend has broken the record audience of the show, with 27.8 million viewers, before the audience tires but surely …
Eric Forman in “That ’70s Show”
A nugget alas well too little known on this side of the Atlantic. “That ’70s Show” is an unnamed killing, tinged with sarcasm and eph’ paws pants. With the clumsy and endearing Eric Forman at the center of the game. Finally, that was before her performer, Topher Grace, was barred to other heavens after 7 seasons. The scriptwriters pre-empted a departure to Africa to explain his departure and replaced it with an ersatz, Randy (Josh Meyers). An anguishing thing, especially that the guy got infatuated with Donna, the girl of Eric (who is still alive eh!). A season later, the show put the key under the door. A bad for a good.
Mike Flaherty in “Spin City”
The return to business of Marty Mc … uh Michael J. Fox in the late 90s through “Spin City” was a total success. As proof, the Emmy Award crowned his performance in the right arm of the Mayor of New York. But in 2000, patatras: the guy announces his departure from the satirical sitcom, because of his health problems (he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease). He himself called on Heather Locklear (“Melrose Place”) to make the transition in season 4, before Charlie Sheen (still him!) Replaces him numerically as Mayor’s advisor. The hearings are going to be a good time, despite less enthusiastic critics, who have always regretted the departure of Michael J. Fox.
Elena in “The Vampire Diaries”
Nina Dobrev was the cornerstone of “The Vampire Diaries” through her different identities (Elena Gilbert / Katherine Pierce / Amara) . The one that made beat the heart of the series and Damon and Stefan. One suspected that his departure at the end of the sixth season – due to the calls of the foot of the 7th art – was going to take a serious blow to the show she vampirisait. It did not miss. Despite the sex appeal of the vampire brothers, the impression of a lack has never left the fans over the past two seasons.
Lucas & Peyton in “The Scott Brothers”
While their relationship between friendship and love was the main interest of the “Scott Brothers” , Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) broke after the sixth season where they still took the time to give birth to their Girl, Sawyer . Subsequently, the two actors have always refuted the rumors that they would have said stop for a sorrel. Hilarie Burton explained in an interview: “It has been six fabulous years, which correspond to the duration of my contract, and I feel really lucky to have participated in this series. So when I hear that ‘There are negotiations based on money, it hurts my heart because it is not the case.’ Life at Tree Hill went on without them in seasons 7 and 8, to the great regret of the fans. The prod has tried a nod with the return of Lucas in the ultimate season, but this one is far from satisfying the public …
Paul Hennessy in “Touche pas à mes filles”
Before the delight of fans of “The Big Bang Theory” and its banker, Kaley Cuoco started in another sitcom, a tad less known: “Do not touch my daughters” . Alas for the pretty blonde and all the teams working on the show – broadcast on M6 at the time – a terrible drama happened during the shooting of season 2: comedian John Ritter, Patriarch of the Hennessy family, is death. After a period of pause, when the series stopped, it finally came back with a special episode featuring the death of the character, as well as the integration of two new members in the mif (grand- Father Jim and cousin CJ). A vain decision: due to lack of hearing,
Michael Scott in “The Office”
We were all happy for Michael, that looser of love, that he finally finds the big love with Holly. But it was not a reason for us to take it away at the end of Season 7 as well. His replacement, Robert California (James Spader) was far from level ( The following season). The serial-gaffer Michael Scott missed us badly, Dunder Mifflin was his work! And what does the cute image of his little family matter in the final episode of the series, “The Office” should have stopped with the departure of “Prison Mike” and make it much shorter (“That’s what she said ! “) .
The post These series that tried to survive without their main hero first appeared on The Siver Times.

Sometimes when you watch a series, the magic operates from the first minutes and we find ourselves wanting to watch the barely finished pilot … And sometimes it’s a little the opposite, the first episode is slow, the characters are not Not very endearing, in short, we do not catch what. And yet, behind a failed driver often hide little nuggets next to which we almost passed . Many comedies are in this category since, typically, they are series based mainly on the characters, on their alchemy and their humor rather than on a thrilling plot. And it’s hard to appreciate them without attaching a minimum to them and finding them nice to laugh at their jokes, but it’s a complicated exercise in an episode, especially when it only lasts for about thirty minutes.
The Office US
A excellent series sometimes corresponds to a mediocre driver. Too close to the UK version, the very first episode of The Office presents us a Michael Scott heavy and not very funny ( if it changes in the sequel ) with jokes falling flat . Add to this some characters who do not always feel comfortable – like Dwight – and you get an episode that does not really want to watch next . And yet, after a difficult season, it is only happiness.
The 100
The apocalyptic shows also have their failures. With its plot inspired by Kass Morgan’s books, The 100 had a good foundation but introduced us in a clumsy way to a universe not always coherent and especially to cliché characters as possible. Teenagers stereotyped and unbearable, dialogues flat and predictable … Everything was combined to flee this series . Yet after the pilot, but especially after the first half of season 1, the characters evolve – and reflect – and the plot catches us up, phew.
Agents of SHIELD
We adore Phil Coulson and the whole world of the Avengers, difficult to hang on to the pilot of Agents of SHIELD. And for good reason, between his intrigue a little too already seen and his characters too smooth, the pilot is certainly not the best episode of the series . All categorized in a rigid role, May, Jemma, Fitz, Phil and the others are far from expressing their potential that one ends up discovering in the following episodes and this for our greatest happiness.
The L Word
It must be admitted that the pilot of The L Word plunges us directly into the mood, but perhaps a little too directly justly. Bette, Tina, Alice, Shane and all the little lesbian group in Los Angeles do not take tweezers and are almost more graphic than most episodes . Moreover, to see all this from the point of view of the ingenious Jenny who discovers this world by opening his eyes is a little cliché and does not honor a series that shows much more subtlety and complexity in the sequel.
Parks and Recreation
Like many comedies, the pilot of Parks and Rec is not really a success and has difficulty to seduce us with his clumsy characters and her atypical heroine. Leslie Knope is not shown in her best light and it will take a few episodes before realizing her charisma and intelligence . Season 1 is not the best but the rest of the series shows us the real source of inspiration that is Leslie, surrounded by a team as endearing as funny.
To these series which have not been helped by their pilot one can also add How I Met Your Mother with his laughs recorded which has passed as a pale copy of FRIENDS , or even FRIENDS herself who had not Quite seduced the critics at the time. Seinfeld suffered the same fate, as did 30Rock and his rough pilot. In short, we do not always succeed all at once, but it is not a reason to give up, a beautiful lesson that works both in life and for series! And you, which pilots did not convince you?
The post The first episode is bof but these series are worth gold first appeared on The Siver Times.

We all know FRIENDS, but it is far from being the only comedy that is worth the detour!
No, on TV there are not only dramas or police series that repeat the same pattern until cancellation. Comedies are not what are missing and some of them are clearly worth the detour. Because a good comedy is not just a few jokes, laughs recorded and a development of characters almost non-existent. No , a good comedy is the one that knows how to make cry as well as it makes laugh and that has characters so endearing that one has the impression to find friends as soon as one begins an episode . Of course, there are too many to quote, but we offer you some of our favorites to which you can add yours in the comments!
The Office US
Initially Anglo-Saxon then declined to the American, The Office US is a true blow of heart for so many reasons that it would take too many lines to quote them all. So we hope that you trust us enough to believe us when we say that this series on a company that sells paper with an embarrassing boss at its best is one of the best comedies that we have ever seen .
This is Netflix which offers one of the best comedies of the small screen created and produced by Tina Fey, if it is not already a guarantee of quality … Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt has an original pitch – Kimmy return to normal life in New York After 15 years imprisoned in a bunker – which seduces quickly but especially a cast 5 stars and jokes as funny as relevant. As in her other 30 Rock series , Tina Fey uses the political and cultural world as a bottomless reserve for well-founded jokes that always make you laugh after seeing the episodes 4 times, fan word.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
Unlike her sexist title, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a condensed feminism and good humor, all linked by incredible songs that remain in mind whether we like it or not. The heroine Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom, also co-creator of the series) puts everything to go to live in California and find his love of youth with the hope of regaining it . This relatively ordinary pitch is relieved by the solar personality of Rebecca and all the characters who cross her path. All episodes have their little dose of madness and truth about the world around us, all told in music. What to combine useful and very pleasant laughing a good shot!
Veep
Attention, sensitive ears refrain. By following the (political) adventures of Vice President Selina Meyer, Veep gives us the opportunity to realize how politics can sometimes be absurd. But most of all, it’s THE series to hear the best parts of the whole screen . The flourishing and inventive language of all the characters – but especially Selina – gives us incredible burns, unpublished and often very imagined. What to congratulate the screenwriters who write the dialogues and ask what would happen if Selina was as talented in politics as in comeback …
Community
We end our small list by the masterpiece that is Community . By bringing together a group of friendly and engaging students who are studying together at Greendale, Community could look like any set of teenagers. Except that it’s just the reverse: with its students of all ages, its colorful characters – especially the Dean – and its incredible intrigues, Community is a bit the mindblowing series that surprises each episode and up ‘In the last season .
As has already been said, it is impossible to cite all the comedies that are worth the detour. We have not forgotten the cultist Seinfeld , the excellent Master of None , Parks and Recreation, That 70’s Show, Black-ish, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and more and better. Whatever it is proves that one always needs to laugh, and fortunately that the series are there for that. And you, what are your favorite comedies?
The post We rarely encode them, but the comic series is heavy first appeared on The Siver Times.
