In the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Star-Lord will finally meet his father, played by Kurt Russell. And we now know what it will look like!
It is a bit the one that everyone is waiting to discover with impatience in The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 . Because finally, while he had been evoked in a very intriguing way in the first part, Star-Lord will meet his father . And if we already knew that it was Ego, the living planet that has the capacity to introduce its consciousness into humanoid bodies , and that it will be embodied by none other than actor Kurt Russell , we did not know yet what it might look like, even if we had some clues here and there. But this weekend, the company Entertainment Earth has finally totally lifted the veil on the costume of the latter. The Guardians of Galaxy 2: A Journey to Earth to Foresee!

You thought you would not be visiting Earth in The Guardians of Galaxy 2? Well, it would seem that our beautiful planet makes an appearance in the film!
As its title suggests, The Guardians of Galaxy 2 is happening … in the galaxy. So in full space, in the middle of the stars, where one crosses extraterrestrials all stranger than the others. But very few, of course. Indeed, James Gunn did not long hold the mystery that human beings would be absent (or almost) from the Guardians of Galaxy 2 and that the film would unfold exclusively in space. What is more normal in fact, if one thinks about it, since part of the charm of the first opus came precisely from all these different worlds that were visited during the adventure. So, because of all these statements, it was really thought that The Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would not take the time to make an incursion on Earth. Except that apparently, we were mistaken! Because, yes, the meltynauts, it would seem that our beautiful planet makes a small cameo in the film . And this little detail is Kevin Feige, the boss of Marvel Studios who unveiled it to us!
It was at the Cinema Blend site that Kevin Feige released this piece of information. It has indeed teased: ” We see a little bit the Earth in this film, but it is not these characters who go there .” And by ” these characters “, he certainly hears the Guardians themselves and their new / old companions / enemies – become allies such as Mantis, Nebula or Yondu. They will probably be too busy fighting Ayesha and Taserface, the villains of this second installment. So no, unfortunately, we will not see Drax confront an Avenger in The Guardians of Galaxy 2 , as Dave Bautista hoped. Bummer ! But if our heroes do not go to Earth, then who is it? We obviously think of Ego, the father of Star Lord and the living planet . After all, this character did indeed go on Earth (and not that with good intentions) in the comics. And as it can travel in space easily, it is still best placed to travel to our solar system. Unless of course it is Thanos, who embodies the big bad of The Avengers 3: Infinity War , which could make us a little cameo. But we do not believe too much, James Gunn having warned that the Foolish Titan would not appear in The Guardians of the Galaxy . Will Star and Ego, his father, come to an understanding in The Guardians of Galaxy 2? What is certain is that their relationship is likely to be (very) complicated!
Here, in a few months, Star Lord will FINALLY see his most cherished wish come true! After spending years in space and being raised by Yondu and pests, it will be able to get to know his real father . Ego, the living planet, embodied by Kurt Russell. Well, for sure, he might be a little surprised! At least Ego is it not the villain of the film, as confirmed by the end of the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 scenario that has leaked on the internet . But will our hero really succeed in getting along with his father? For although he has sought for a part of his life, he knows nothing about Ego and the latter probably has no idea who his son is either. In short, the encounter between Peter Quill and his father will not fail to raise contradictory emotions, in one as in the other. Besides, James Gunn tease recently that the relationship between the two men would be a complicated ( Obviously ), especially as Star-Lord will slowly understand who is really his father.
In an interview to USA Today, the director of the Galaxy 2 Guards spoke that Star-Lord would feel throughout the film: ” He will go through a range of emotions, first trying to understand why his father was missing before quickly come to idolize him, then he will understand at the end of the nature of their relationship and will compare the man who raised him and who begot . “.
