“Eeny meeny miny moe, catch a tiger by the toe …” . It is impossible not to associate this song to The Walking Dead and its emblematic villain, Negan. Yet, if you open a history book (aka if you go on Wikipedia), you will discover that the origin of the nursery rhyme is very far from the playground. Basically , the word “tiger” was replaced by “nigger” . Charming. There is no question of choosing who will get the last chocolate bread here, but rather a totally racist song that dates back to the last century. This is why some consumers have not enjoyed a certain T-shirt offered by Primark .
Accused of racism, the British giant has decided to withdraw the product and apologized: “The T-shirt in question is a derivative of The Walking Dead series The quote and picture come directly from the show all wrong.. Caused was totally unintentional and we sincerely apologize. ” .
