“The cinema killed me”.
The transition from paper to the big screen is necessarily a complex exercise that leads to mixed reactions among readers, but also among authors. For an esteemed saga like Harry Potter, whose cast has almost been different , a bunch of other films, often adored by critics, have been massacred by the brains behind the original work. Do not touch my book!
Stephen King – “Shining”
The master of the horror novel sees red as soon as he is told about Stanley Kubrick’s film, which would have totally distorted his work as he told Rolling Stone magazine: “The book is hot, the film is cold; Book ends in flame, the film ends in the ice ” . Among the main grievances is the lack of nuance in the character of Jack Torrance : “In my book, there is a narrative sequence where Jack Torrance tries to be good, and it is gradually that he arrives at a Stage of madness (…) When I saw the film, Jack appeared to me insane from the first scene ” . But the worst character remains according to him, that of Wendy, who would only shout from beginning to end (“a screaming mop”
Bret Easton Ellis – “American Psycho”
The author has always maintained that his novel was impossible to transpose on screen because he is interested in consciousness and “we can not really show the complexity of this sensitivity . ” The film would make the character of Patrick Bateman for a monster, when the novel “is much more ambiguous” . It was not more tender with the adaptation of “The Informers” in 2008, film on which he nevertheless worked the script but which made a real oven to the cinema. “This film does not work for a lot of reason, but I do not think any of these reasons come from me . ” The art of questioning …
Uderzo – “Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra”
Co-author of the comic strip with Goscinny (died in 1977), Uderzo is the one who still preserves the Gallic spirit of Asterix and Obelix. And it has long been said that the draftsman / scriptwriter had little taste of the 2nd opus released in the cinema, “Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra” . He reproached Alain Chabat for having distanced himself from the original work, with a much too much Canal humor, and secondary characters that erased Asterix and Obelix. Albert Uderzo, who was certainly cornered by the 15 million spectators who went to theaters, and the cult status of the film, now prefers to temper, assuring him that he is not angry with Alain Chabat: “I was just A bit annoyed because it is not what I ‘
Roald Dahl – “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”
It’s a constant: Roald Dahl hates all the adaptations of his books. With a fierce hatred for the most famous of them, the “Charlie and the Chocolaterie” of 1971 . Pell-mell, he said the film is “lame” , director Mel Stuart “has no talent” , and as for Gene Wilder – the actor who plays Willy Wonka – “it was pretentious and not dynamic enough for the role ” .
Ken Kesey – “Flying over a Cuckoo’s Nest”
Despite the 1976 Oscars (Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Script), Ken Kesey never wore the adaptation of Milos Forman in his heart. While basically, he was motivated by the project and had joined the trick, before slamming the door … two weeks later. He has long recounted that he had never seen the film, although his wife confessed after his death, that he was pleased that the feature was born.
Richard Matheson – “I’m a Legend”
For Richard Matheson, the cinema has lacked respect twice to his work. In 1964 first, where “The Last Man on Earth” did not really pack it: “I am disappointed by this film even if they have more or less followed my story . ” Although he appreciated it a lot, the main actor Vincent Price was “a casting error” . Same in 2007 with the Will Smith version which will make him say: “I do not understand why Hollywood is so fascinated by my book while nobody there ever takes the trouble to film it as I wrote . ”
Winstom Groom – “Forrest Gump”
Winstom Groom was downright bad. He is one of the few to spit on Robert Zemeckis’ film, which would have distorted his work, obscuring important moments of the book, as well as raw language and sex scenes. The choice of Tom Hanks appeared to him as fanciful since in his book, Forrest Gump measures 2m and weighs 110 kgs (he wanted the actor John Goodman instead). Although Winston Groom has not been revered for financial reasons, despite having negotiated a 3% profit on the Paramount, the studio did not spin it, as the film would have Lost money. He will sue them and win. Very well, he wrote in 1995, in the following of his novel: “Never leave someone”
The post Authors who hated the cine adaptation of their book first appeared on The Siver Times.

A simple acronym meaning: dodge plan. That is to say, it was better not to participate in the sombre project that presented itself. At random, a mathematics course. Or an evening can be.
Troy
To see for those who want to appreciate the beautiful Brad Pitt in skirt and yelling “Yeah, there is immortality waiting for us” with much less charisma than Gerald Butler in “300”. Finally, I say that … In short, to come to the fact, just before they turn the scene before the fort, this one was blown by a bastard hurricane . Vener, they had to rebuild everything. Then, it was the security guards on the board who were stealing tricks to round off the end of the month. Letting it be understood that the salary was too low and that it was necessary to find combinations.
Blade Runner
Based on the book “Do androids dream electronic sheep” by Philip K. Dick, the film had to wait a long time before possessing a square and clear scenario. A pack of writers and directors tackled it and broke their teeth, before Ridley Scott began filming. End of the galleys? Nope! The English filmmaker was constantly hammering with Harrison Ford, as well as with the film crews in general . So much so that these had printed t-shirts with the inscription: “Yes Governor my ass …”
The Conqueror
Well then we put it because it sticks to the theme but it is much less fun. For the moment, a little restraint … Bringing the story of Genghis Khan to the screen, the film was filmed near a nuclear test site . Under the advice of the government, like “go there guys, you are told that there is no galley!” Noone, so much so that 91 members developed a cancer thereafter, including 46 deaths … In the first row of which the director, the main actress and John Wayne himself. And you are spared other bad things.
Fantastic Four
Crash in full flight for director Josh Trank. The guy proudly announced that he was going to kill the game with phrases like “My movie will be better than 99% of the superhero movies . ” Except that the 20th Century Fox did not validate all his delusions, that he had to change and do a lot of tricks. So he was venerated. And some actors were then a little busy to return scenes, a big galley. In the end, Josh complained, still on Twitter, that the film released was much worse than it should have been . So hop, Star Wars project that passes under his nose and killed career.
The Shining
It was notorious that turning with Stanley Kubrick proved to be painful. Finally, under his orders, rather. Obsessive, unlimited, he always asked his actors more. Finally, demanded. Thus, every day, he changed the scenes, modified them, adapted them. And above all, it multiplied the catch! The scene where Wendy retreats down the stairs of the hall, with baseball bat in hand, would have been shot after 127 takes . The two main actors (including Jack Nicholson, the drunken drunk husband) were certifying that this was their toughest part of their career. And Shelly Duvall / Wendy suffered hair loss on the plateau due to stress.
Abyss
Stevie had an idea and he did not let go. His intrigue was in the water. It took a lot. Yeah, a lot. Genus 10 million galleons, in all. And not to dip, to the cool. People worked more than 70h / week to shoot the film. Ed Harris and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio have also cracked nervously, tired . A nervous breakdown, as they say. Ed Harris was so marked that he refused years of talking about the film for years. In traumatized mode, bad memory. Frankly, sometimes there’s way to crack anyway?
The post Turning a film is not always a sinecure first appeared on The Siver Times.

Sometimes it is easy to laugh at the slightest opportunity. Too quickly, for we can miss explanations that are there, under our noses.
Who loves well chatises as well. So we will take refuge behind this (very practical) expression to find an excuse and present this in a positive way. Because, yes, we have already criticized a film by accusing it of incoherence when it was simply us who ration a detail , a justification, a logical element. Better late than never, we can do our mea culpa here and now.
Star Wars: the awakening of strength
Leia leads the resistance, but against whom? Against what ? The Empire was destroyed so there is no longer any opponent to resist. Whatever ! The new senators of the republic look up at Leia … For they do not believe in the existence of the First Order, composed of the few survivors of the Empire . But this one will grow, and Leia has done well to set up a private military group.
Mom I missed the plane
In the beginning, we are told that a tree fell and damaged the phone lines of the house where Kevin found himself. And we see her mother galley to join her, from Paris. Normal. Then we see Kevin ordering pizzas, tranquillou. WTF? In fact, the tree could very well have made impossible the long distance links without doing the same on the local calls. The operator AT & T confirmed it, it was totally possible with the functioning of the time.
Batman VS Superman: The Dawn of Justice
Superman is supposed to be able to hear everything, to perceive everything. So why does not he use his super power to hear his mother, know where Lex Luthor hid it? It’s true brothel, it is con or it is con! In fact, if he had tried, he would have heard everything. All. So all the murmurs of the city, the complaints of everyone … So finally, it would be inaudible. And he would become mad, disturbed by all his voices. This is in any case the explanation of director Zack Snyder, who claimed to have shot a scene like this but have deleted it.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Okay it’s funny and it moves, but why did they leave the mine in the wagon anyway? ‘ Frankly, was not it simpler? Well, no, actually. If one looks carefully , when the released kid gets through the area caressed by the lava, he does it on a wooden board . However, it catches fire before the others can use it as well. Hence the roller coaster after, in the wagon!
pulp Fiction
We all remember the scene where Vincent tells that a bastard scratched his case. Voluntarily. Shocked, he does not understand that anyone can do that. We think this is a dialogue like that, just to fix a funny scene . Now, when you put the scenes back in chronological order, you understand that it was Butch who avenged himself, after their rather tense meeting at the bar.
Pacific Rim
What do they expect from God? Without dismay, if Mako and Raleigh had used the sword earlier, the problem would have been settled much more quickly and easily. But no, wait until the last moment … Stop: no, it’s not just to shit and the movie lasts longer . There is a reason given during the television news: the blood of the monster is toxic and will contaminate the water of the ocean. This is designated by Kaiju Blue. Who had not taken good and well all the time?
The post In fact these films are coherent and one should not have doubted them first appeared on The Siver Times.

Sometimes we wonder why. Sometimes you do not understand. At other times, we’re downright pissed off. In any case, there is always an explanation. Examples.
We simple spectators are ignorant. And that rhymes with addiction. We love a series, we like a character in particular and we want to keep it with us as long as possible. Mourning sometimes proves difficult, especially when you do not understand why the character should die . Because we do not have all the cards in hand. Here is what goes on behind the scenes and explains everything.
Sara Lance / Black Canary in “The Arrow”
Sister of Laurel, also a former conquest of Oliver aka The Arrow, Sara was given for dead from the beginning. Since the accident of Oliver’s boat, which had also made him believe it disappeared forever. In short, years later, the Black Canary landed and greatly helped Oliver in his taf to clean the city. Until she takes an arrow and falls from a building, dying instantly . Too bad, the fans loved it. Then the screenwriters and producers have brought him back to life, to tear it off, and it’s gone. Then they created a series called “Legends of Tomorrow”, around her. Big change of plan.
Rita in “Dexter”
Dexter’s girlfriend and wife, Rita was the ray of light of Dexter. As well as all the spectators. Problem: Dexter continued (as always) his small outings and ended up falling on a tough, trinity. Their mano a mano game ended dramatically, the opponent killing Rita, in his bathtub, when Dexter had eliminated him and thought he had escaped. Wrong. A death that was not necessarily planned for this character but that the producers saw as the best possible end in season 5 . And for the history of Dexter in general.
Stringer Bell in “The Wire”
Slowly but surely, the character has grown considerably. At Avon Barksdale’s base deputy, he becomes important when he finds himself in jail for a while. Then his intelligence makes the difference. He becomes the boss, he maneuvers everything behind the scenes, expands his network, fricots with the politicians … Fans love him too much . And this is what motivated the producers to kill the character, with the agreement of the actor, Idris Elba. They did not want and could not let the message pass that the life of a drug trafficker is noble, enviable, a success. The life of a gangster is difficult, risky, and ends badly. Omar had the same treatment, for the same reasons.
Kate Todd in “NCIS”
Then there, it is clearly the actress who wanted to be dezangled. Sasha Alexander was not ready for the rhythm of work required for the shooting of a series, long, constant, taking. Despite her extraordinary performance as a secret service agent, she did not hold the blow physically and nervously. Exhausted, she asked the producers to find a solution , that her character leaves the plot for good. So at the end of Season 2, she took a bullet and went away.
Lexa in “The 100”
Basically, we find ourselves a century after an apocalypse erupted on earth and some survivors live in an ark. After a while, they realize that their resources will not suffice forever and that we must return to earth, see if there is any way to resume their life there. So they send 100 young prisoners, minors, in designated voluntary mode, knowing full well that it stinks the suicide mission. Among them, Clarke, who will meet one of the few survivors left on earth, now formed into tribes, Lexa. These two women will then lead a romance. The actress Alycia Debnam-Carey who played Lexa was recruited in 2015 in “Fear The Walking Dead” . Question timetable, it was no longer manageable. She would have missed at least half the third season. Then the producers took the lead: after a scene of love with Clarke (long awaited by the fans), Lexa dies taking a ball to save her lover. A sudden but stupid death that made the fans crazy, to the point that they threatened to kill the showrunner Jason Rothenberg. How did you react to their dead?
The post The thousand and one reasons to kill a character in series first appeared on The Siver Times.

It is believed to know the whims and other slippages of some. Sometimes they were hallucinating, while others were right to insist. Examples.
Val Kilmer: “The Island of Doctor Moreau”
Basically, he had to play one of the main roles. Then he said he had better things to do, that producers had to reduce his share of scenes by 40% for it to be available. Already, it changes everything. Then, he did not stop questioning the choices of the director, Richard Stanley. Until the transfer to the project . Val, frankly … And it’s not over! To conclude, he demanded that the other actors see their lines modified or withdrawn, to leave all the light. The film will not be so bad finally, go for this time Val.
Crispin Glover: “Charlie and his funny ladies”
The pro of the negotiation. The guy gets the script, the bed and finds his replicas nil to shit. And not one or a few, all! So, rather than any change or leave the project, he has an idea: his character is mute . Finally, he does not speak, basically. McG agrees, go hop, forward the company.
Benicio Del Toro: “The usual suspects”
He was not yet known but was already showing character the rogue! When he reads the project, he understands that his character is destined to die first. Moreover, his take of words does not particularly influence the course of the story. Then he exhibited in Bryan Singer: “If you permitted me, I think you should let me try something .” Without imagining the trick, the director says yes. And Del Toro will play with an incomprehensible accent , mumbling, no one understanding what he says.
Mike Myers: “Wayne’s World”
It was a poker stroke. And he won. The memorable scene where he and his comrade shake his head on Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, you know? Well the producers wanted to sound of Guns N Roses, recent, coming out at the time . Except that Mike Myers refused, insisted on the sound of Queen and threatened to leave the film. They have yielded, and everybody loves this scene. Winning bet.
Faye Dunaway: “Acting Murder”
Passing for the bastard, no thanks! In the film, she plays Charlene Towne, working in an office where murders and incidents multiply. And she ends up being killed by the serial killer. Later, in the assembly, the director wants to change and make her the killer . She refuses completely, she will not return from the stage. Especially not for that. Finally, it will end as expected and the film will have its success.
Harrison Ford: “The Empire Strikes Back”
The famous scene where Leia tells him “I love you” and his answer, “I know,” comes from him. And unlike the rumors, he did not invent it, improperly. This is something he negotiated before, not at all fond of the original dialogue: “I love you, I could not tell you before it’s true” – “So remember in coach I will be back”. Ford had gone to negotiate directly with Keschner Irvin, who had liked the idea, without talking to Carrie Fisher , who was a little mouth that changes his sentences without touching a word. You would have cleared which without negotiating?
The post The whims of actors sometimes prove to be a good thing first appeared on The Siver Times.

First of all, pay attention to the spoilers! A script of the last episode of season 4 of The 100 would have leaked on the internet and you are told everything.
The season 4 of The 100 has just started – our review of episode 1 is still available on melty – the drama begins. Above all, we stress that the following information is to be taken lightly puisqu’absolument nothing has been officially confirmed . A few days ago, a twitter account titled “@the100leaked” claimed to have the script for the last episode of the season in hand and then gave information about what is happening in the final season, support. Obviously, and since nothing confirms that this is an official script of the series, all tweets are to be taken with caution in the event that it is only false rumors. Still, that according to these tweets, episode 13 of season 4 of The 100 would see eight survivors return to space for a period of 5 years with a rocket.
For this, Monty and Murphy would try to find a control panel on the island where ALIE was based and other pieces for the rocket. Bellamy, Echo, Monty, Harper, Murphy, Emori, Raven and Clarke, but only if she gets away with it. Indeed the situation would be very urgent since, always according to the tweets based on the script – official or not – the “death wave” would arrive in 49 minutes for the small group of survivors. As often, Raven would be in charge of launching the rocket and, with the help of Bellamy and Clarke, would try to launch it through the Ark. During their mission, Clarke and Bellamy would be separated and Clarke would be charged to take care alone of the source of power of the rocket by climbing a tower. After a moment she would realize that she will not have enough time to climb and then come back and say to Raven not wait . Thanks to Clarke and his sacrifice, the others would escape in a rocket to the wave of radiation that would kill Clarke. The tweets also specify that in the episode, Clarke would find the suicide note that Jasper wrote to Monty in the first episode, and that Bellamy and Murphy would save Monty from a danger.
As you can see above, the script in question would also explain that the image of Clarke covered with pustules that we saw in the trailer came from a vision of Abby and that it would then end up realizing itself. Obviously, all these are just rumors and it will be broadcast episodes to see if it is a fake or the script has actually leaked . Overall the plot holds and assumes that many characters would have died by the end of the season, which is quite consistent with the series. Moreover, it is possible that several purposes have been filmed and depend on the renewal or cancellation of the series. If The 100 is canceled, to kill Clarke on Earth after a second nuclear apocalypse by sending survivors representing the future of humanity into space would complete the loop. If the series is renewed, Clarke could survive and be ready for new adventures. In short, whether all this is true or false we can already expect a hectic end of the season and we still have all the time before us to speculate. While waiting to learn more, the promotional video of episode 2 of season 4 of The 100 is available on melty. So, what would you think of this end?
The post The 100 Season 4: The final season script would have leaked and SPOILER dies! first appeared on The Siver Times.

As much as to say that Marvel seeks to preserve very secretly the scenario of this sequence of adventures of the joyous troop led by Star Lord. Yet ScreenGeek claims to have got hold of a part of the script so if you want to keep the surprise and avoid spoilers, immediately stop reading now ! First of all, and it will not surprise you if you saw the first trailer, there will be a love story between Gamora and Peter Quill. Thanos yet seen in the first film, is completely absent here … a small disappointment for fans (if this is true) who hoped to learn more about the future great villain Infinity War. Another major absentee of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 : Stone of Infinity. ScreenGeek nevertheless states that the latter will be mentioned.
Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone will embody in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 famous Deans of the Universe. Superior beings which one of the most famous, the Grand Master, may be seen in Thor 3, the official synopsis has also been unveiled ! The characters that will be played by the two stars will entrust the Guardians with the heavy task of stopping Ego. And speaking of ego, ScreenGeek made a small revelation by announcing that no, it would not be the great villain of the film . It would appear to be Taserface, a character already announced and played by Chris Sullivan. The second villain will be Ayesha, an entity created by Doctor Strange (in part). Of course, to validate all these rumors around the script, we will have to wait until the release of the film on April 26th. What do you think of these rumors?
The post The Guardians of Galaxy 2: Part of the leaked scenario on the web! first appeared on The Siver Times.
