As every year, choices have had to be made and some series have therefore been set aside since it is impossible to select absolutely all series . A short tour of the series that did not participate but that we adore nevertheless.
Shameless US
The Shameless series in the American style is still not part of our competition but it is not for lack of love. The Gallagher family continues to make us laugh and cry with their adventures and we are already looking forward to Fiona, Lip, Debbie, Ian and the others in the next season . Adapted from the British eponymous series, Shameless tells of the galleys of a large family whose parents are not exactly models. But their trials bring them closer together and always show a sense of solidarity as powerful as it is touching despite all their disputes. Even if she can not win the competition, Shameless has already won in our hearts.
Supergirl
Superman’s cousin Superman is not part of the competition but everyone knows her legendary strength and merit. Supergirl never ceases to amaze us by continuing to fight against all the assailants of National City and season 2 has ended on a grand episode . With her sister Alex at her side and gifted and courageous friends, Kara is there to repel all threats and we hope to see her continue on the CW for many more years.
Orphan Black
Sarah Manning’s clones also deserved to be part of the 2017 World Cup and you can testify to your love for Orphan Black in the comments below. The series that blends thriller and science fiction to perfection continues to amaze us with its ever more intensive and mysterious intrigues. Cloning, women’s rights to their bodies, genetic evolution … All these fascinating themes are highlighted thanks to the talent of the incredible Tatiana Maslany, who alone composes at least half of the cast.
sense8
Despite his too early cancellation, Sense8 would deserve to win all the competitions. His intrigue around eight mind-connected sensates that are fighting an organization that wants to dissect their brains is as original as well-conducted. Filming around the world, casting as talented as diversified, the message of tolerance and love that it transmits … We miss everything, but above all the cluster that we have come to know and love through the Two seasons …
Suits
Suits’ Season 7 is back this summer, July 12th, but for our Summer Series group too, we had to make choices. Yet even if it is not in this category, it does not mean that we forget it. It is always a pleasure to continue to follow the adventures of Mike and Harvey, and even more so since Mike finally became a lawyer . We can not wait to see him rework at Specter & Litt despite his sometimes heated relationship with Harvey and know what awaits them in the next season!
The Handmaid’s Tale
She arrives very quickly on OCS – June 27 more precisely – and we can only advise her: The Handmaid’s Tale offered us a first masterful season that takes to the guts. By plunging us into a dystopian future where women no longer have any rights over their bodies, the adapted series of Margaret Atwood’s novel shows a frightening world of realism . Elisabeth Moss (Mad Men, Top of the Lake) shines in the title role and the rest of the equally talented cast only adds to the intensity of the entire series.
Gotham
The DC series may well be out of competition this year, that does not mean that we put Gotham aside to forget it. Season 3 has just ended on the FOX but she has not been selected to be part of the Summer Series in the 2017 World Cup. Yet the adventures of James Gordon are still exciting to follow And we hope to continue learning more about the Wayne family’s past with Bruce . In short, the FOX has offered us a lively season which makes us look forward to seeing the sequel in September.
Here is a quick tour of some of the series that were not in competition but still deserve all our love. We have also not forgotten This is Us, Nashville, The Leftovers, iZombie, Big Little Lies or House of Cards that we also carry in our hearts but we had to make choices. And you, what series would you like to see in the competition?
The post Shameless, Sense8, Orphan Black: Series that did not participate in the 2017 World Cup first appeared on The Siver Times.

The month of May is always loaded in terms of series, with all the final seasons going on and some summer series starting. Not to mention the Netflix series that land every month and come to shake everything up. This month of May was another emotional month, between tension episodes, the tragic deaths, the couples who make and break and of course the fact of having to say goodbye to certain shows the time of the Summer – or even forever . As at the end of each month, the editor of melty offers you to discover the 10 series that have marked the last 31 days . And since we can not see everything and we all have different opinions, we invite you to share your Top Series of May in the comments.
9 – Scandal
It was known before the release of the double episode of season finale, the season 7 of Scandal will be the last , making the end of season 6 even more important since it sets up as pawns for the latest chapter Series. If we found the first part of the final season a little slow and a bit too quiet, everything was played in episode 16 and all the cards are now redistributed in order to offer us a totally different last season. Olivia Pope has embraced a little more her side “dark” , no longer hesitating to eliminate people who get in the way of his goal. Despite some mistakes, we were pleasantly surprised by this end of season.
8 – The Flash
The Flash concluded its third season last week with a rather touching yet predictable episode. After a season that had some problems with the plot, The Flash is doing pretty well with this final season which already puts in place the bases of season 4. If, not surprisingly, Iris is not dead As had been predicted, his character played an important role in this end and it is no worse. Despite some predictable intrigues and springs, The Flash fulfills his contract and offers us a end of the season full of action, twists and turns and where we even had to take out the handkerchiefs!
7 – Jane The Virgin
The CW series is one of those underestimated series – to go hand in hand with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend – especially because of the channel on which it is broadcast. And yet, it’s still a beautiful season that Jane The Virgin offers us with an end to the top. The series always mixes humor and emotion, and it was once again a real emotional roller coaster that follows the adventures of Jane and all the other characters in the series. Despite its very low audiences, the series was renewed by the CW for a season 4 and we are already looking forward to discovering all this because Jane is missing us already!
6 – Supergirl
The second seasons are often a bad time to play for the playoffs, but we can say that Supergirl is doing pretty well, especially with its final season as exciting as it is moving. Admittedly, the season has seen ups and downs, especially in the middle of the season, but it has caught up well on the end, putting her heroine back at the center of the action. With the final season, the different female characters were highlighted and the return of Cat Grant was only the icing on the cake . What a pity that his character does not come back for season 3 … The series has been bold on the end and we really hope that season 3 will be to this image.
5 – Gray’s Anatomy
We all agree more or less to say, this thirteenth season of Gray’s Anatomy is far from perfect and some intrigues have really left something to be desired. However, we can not deny that the last two episodes of season 13 have largely raised the level giving us really want to discover the season 14 . Not only was the final season disaster, which was enormously teased by the production, offered us cold sweats – or hot rather – with this fire, but it allowed to give a very beautiful end to Stephanie Edwards. Indeed, Jerrika Hinton leaves the series and it is a true heroine that his character bids us farewell.
4 – Agents of SHIELD
Agents of SHIELD closed its fourth season as brilliantly as it did, with Ghost Rider returning to close the loop. The characters have yet to face new challenges – some of which will change them forever – but whatever happens is that they can always count on each other and that’s what they Helped defeat AIDA. If one adds to the well-structured intrigues, the dialogues that make flies and the development of characters always well conducted, the political subtext of Agents of Hydra, one really faces one of the best seasons of 2016-2017 .
3 – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt / Master of None
We plead guilty! We were not able to decide between the two Netflix comedies, both of which were released this month on the SVOD platform. Both are hilarious, but they are very different but we love them as much. It is always a pleasure to recapture the sarcastic and ultra-referenced humor of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and his colorful characters. Season 3 plays the card of feminism, while still offering wacky and offbeat plots. As for Master of None , we must say that magic always operates with this second season which is just as good and funny as the first. These two comedies are very original, each in their own way, and if you have not yet watched them, go for it!
2 – The Handmaid’s Tale
Last month we discovered Hulu’s brilliant but glittering The Handmaid’s Tale and since then we have to admit that our fascination with this series has not diminished. We know that it will make us suffer, yet every week we are eager to discover the new episode before which we will be hypnotized. His subject is always as strong and multiplying the points of view and the flashbacks on the different characters allow to enlarge the history and to understand a little better all the protagonists. The Handmaid’s Tale is undoubtedly one of the best new releases of 2017 and we are looking forward to seeing how the season will end.
1 – Sense8
After many months of waiting, Sense8 offered us a second season at the height that gives us already looking forward to seeing the continuation . Closer than ever, the sensates continue their struggle against the terrifying Whispers and the BPO organization by discovering more and more information about their past and their powers. The universe of the series has expanded to our delight and there are still many touching and intense scenes that we have been able to discover . We regret a bit the rapidity with which the plot resolves in the final season but what we regret above all is to have to wait for months before we can find Nomi, Capheus, Lito and the others. We cross the fingers and toes so that the series is renewed and, in the meantime, know that you can find our verdict on season 2 of Sense8 , on melty! What is your Top Series of May 2017?
The post Gray’s Anatomy, Master of None, The Flash: Our Top Series of May 2017! first appeared on The Siver Times.

On this sunny day, I find you for probably my most personal chronicle. If I have already mentioned with you my love for the series, I have never confided in what led me on this path. And to be totally frank with you, I think I’ve been overwhelmed by this kind of television since I was 6 years old. When you are a child, you sometimes have to deal with events that are difficult to manage. If some of them throw themselves in the sport, in an artistic activity or in books to exteriorize and escape for a few hours, my salvation came from the series. If their primary vocation is of course to entertain, I have always considered magical the faculty with which I could project myself into the world of someone else for 40 minutes. So absorbed in the adventures of one or several heroes, I came to forget what made my daily life, to find that light at the end of the road and that hope that led me to be the person that I am today, Hui. In reflecting on this chronicle, it seemed indispensable to me to speak to you about the first series of my existence, those which convinced me to one day make my profession.
The first of a long list is none other than Charmed . I was terribly young when the pilot was broadcast so much that I keep a rather frightening memory (which makes me laugh today as the driver is badly tied up). But magic fascinated me enormously at that time. Between Sabrina the Apprentice Witch and Charmed, I missed no episode of these series where strong and endearing women devoted their lives to trying to conquer the evil and this, even if it encroached on the future that they had imagined . I remember rushing to record the new episodes on four-hour tapes to the point that all my pocket money went into the purchase of blank tapes.
It’s Dawson’s Creek has absolutely changed everything. I have an unconditional love for this series which has simply transformed my life. I know that I seem a little silly in writing these lines but I do not want to underestimate its importance in my eyes. If the criticisms were fired when it was broadcast for the first time in the United States, I keep a magical memory at the same time melancholy and reassuring. I wanted to write while listening to the wonderful replicas of the characters. Obviously, none of them was of the age for these dialogues to be credible, but they carried a real message and an exceptional authenticity. It was one of the first series to dare to evoke the drug, Sex or even homosexuality with a correctness and a realism that I hardly describe . And above all, she has brought Pacey Witter into our lives and just for that she has something to mark us forever. Let me tell you, for me, Pacey is the best serial character. EVER. And her couple with Joey is my favorite. Dawson’s Creek made me dream, grow, change. And it was she who launched me into the world of television series.
It was then Newport Beach that was established in my life. I speak to you with emotion because it is the first show I discovered at the age when I was truly able to understand everything. Between well-written characters, intrigues full of surprises, superb dialogues, an amazing soundtrack and a dream setting, there’s nothing I did not like in Newport Beach as she knew how to handle drama and humor with a Ease never equaled in a teen-show . The first season is, in my opinion, a true masterpiece. Although I have seen the episodes a thousand times, they continue to give me the same emotions. I am simply admiring the work of the writers who knew how to plunge us into the world of the characters without making the slightest mistake and with actors at the top of their talent. If the other seasons have been largely underneath, Newport Beach will always have this little something that sets it apart from all the others. Above all, she reminds me of moments of complicity between mother and daughter that will remain forever in my memory.
I then cracked for Friends in a completely different way . But how not to talk about this sitcom of genius? It is simply unique. Capable of making us laugh, cry, scream or open our eyes in twenty minutes, Friends is a diamond in its pure state . Each of the intrigues is a delight and there is no episode I hate or I do not want to see again. The characters have become my friends, my family and when I feel that the morale is dropping, I have no hesitation, I run towards them knowing that they will bring back joy and energy like no one else. But there were also the Scott Brothers and their love affairs that accompanied me for years. Equally captivating and comforting,
Today, I admit to a great passion for the adventures of CW superheroes and in particular for Barry Allen who puts me in total euphoria . But it is all these series that shaped me and day after day, they have taken an increasingly important place in my universe to become essential. Basically, I can not talk about what I am without evoking them so much they have brought me over the years. Even now, they are my main refuge even though I am now facing adult problems. More than ever, it gives me that hope and strength to continue in spite of everything. They do not replace my family or friends, but they are indispensable to my survival as though they alone could solve my internal conflicts . So I would like to thank them and greet the person who created the very first series. Thanks to her, this television genre is part of my identity and it has no price.
That’s all for me meltynauts but you can relive with me the day when … The Vampire Diaries left us in the meantime. I’ll meet you on April 9 for a whole new column and in the meantime, take care of yourself. <3 What are your very first series?

We are all familiar with the story between Superman and Lex Luthor and of course we can not help wondering if Kara is going to live the same situation as his cousin with Lena, Lex’s sister . Episode 12 of Supergirl’s season 2 offers us a dive into the universe of Luthor, between manipulation and the quest for power, where we learn a little better to know Lillian and Lena. While Lillian Luthor’s judgment is in full swing, Kara decides to pay a visit to her friend Lena to see how she is experiencing this event. She urges him to go visit him in prison, because Kara, still optimistic, Believes she can still solve the problems Lena has with her mother. Unfortunately, everything will go from bad to worse from there.
If Lillian suddenly appears as a loving and understanding mother, as viewers, one suspects that this sudden reversal is certainly a new manipulation on her part. It is discovered that Lena, although adopted, is a true Luthor since she is the daughter of Lionel and another woman than Lillian. It is for this reason that Lillian has always had trouble creating a connection with her daughter, but she would like to redeem herself now. We can not blame Lena for falling in the panel, after all, she spent her life trying to get the interest of her mother. But then, while this meeting takes place, Metallo receives a small package: kryptonite. He escapes from the court while he is testifying and Lena is incarcerated for complicity because a video of surveillance implies it directly in the escape of Metallo. From there, only Kara believes in Lena’s innocence, other people are far too influenced by the fact that it is a Luthor . Here, it is interesting to see how the series points out the prejudices that one can have about a person because of his family or his origins. For once, it is not Supergirl who judges too fast. It is interesting to see how the series points to the prejudices that one can have about a person because of his family or his origins. For once, it is not Supergirl who judges too fast. It is interesting to see how the series points to the prejudices that one can have about a person because of his family or his origins. For once, it is not Supergirl who judges too fast.
And Kara has ample reason to believe that Lena is innocent since it is discovered later that Lillian has all crafted just to get the help of his daughter. Indeed, she needs Lena’s DNA – a Luthor – to access one of her son Lex’s secret chests, which is full of objects capable of fighting aliens – and mostly Superman and By extension Supergirl . If Kara arrives in time to save Lena from the imminent explosion of Metallo – which was equipped with an unstable synthetic kryptonite – she fails to capture Lillian and the real Hank Henshaw . The episode offers us a beautiful scene between Kara and Lena – the tension was palpable! – But the end makes us doubt on the sincerity of Lena.
Finally, Kara finally accepts the feelings she feels for Mon-El. If we do not know yet if the idea of seeing Kara and Mon-El together is the best solution for the plot, we must admit that they are both pretty cute. Nevertheless, their rapprochement is quickly interrupted by the arrival of a certain Mr. Mxyzptlk who announces to Kara that he likes it! And if we believe the video of Episode 13, which you can see above, this gentleman will be ready to do anything to get the favors of Supergirl. Know that you can already find all you need to know about Mr. Mxyzptlk in Supergirl’s saion 2 , on melty. Anyway, we really liked this episode that puts Lena Luthor and her relationship with Kara back on the stage. One hopes however that the writers will not fall into the trap of making her a “bad girl” just because she is a real Luthor. What did you think of this episode?
The post Supergirl Season 2: Episode 12, Can Kara Trust Lena Luthor? All this is quickly interrupted by the escape of Livewire, the nemesis of Supergirl we met in season 1. All the heroes are then in the race to try to stop the young woman and nothing goes as planned. First Kara realizes that Mon-El is not yet ready for a good teammate, and then she discovers that James Winn and spend their nights fighting crime and thus putting their lives – human – in danger. If we can find Kara a little moralizing, we can not help but agree with her.
Meanwhile, I’m faced with a dilemma. M’gann is agonized in her cell and Alex does not seem to be able to determine what affects her but she sees that her life is in danger but does not know how to help her. The only one who can do this is J’onn, but he refuses to put his resentment on the race that murdered his people aside in an attempt to help M’gann. Fortunately, after several persuasive attempts, Alex succeeded in convincing Ionn to connect her mind with that of M’gann in order to see what she has. Again, Supergirl puts women at the heart of the action, it is they who lead the dance, as Kara James, Winn and Mon-El, and showing others the way adopted . In the end, I am saving M’gann and even agrees to release her. Unfortunately she announces the imminent arrival of the White Martians …
If the plot around Livewire is far from being the most exciting of the season – or even the episode, we appreciate to see this crazy character again and the fact that it allows Kara to have discussions at heart Opened with James, Winn and Mon-El. Our heroine does not hesitate to remain in positions, even after the success of their intervention to three. She thinks that Winn and James do not need to put their lives in danger to be heroes and refuse to fight with them. In terms of Mon-El, it surprises the Kryptonian to his apartment to his apologies and he finally confessed his feelings . Unfortunately for him, Kara does not seem to feel the same with him. Meanwhile, next week, we invite you to discover our program series of the week including Clem, Vikings and The 100! What do you think ?
The post Supergirl Season 2: Episode 10, Kara discovers the identity of the Guardian, our critic first appeared on The Siver Times.

The New Year has been going on for over three weeks and many superheroes are about to invade our screens! A short overview of these series in 2017.
That’s it ! The new year has started and that says new year, also says return of series, but also new launch. And that’s pretty cool, we’re not going to hide it. Among the many shows that will land on the small screen, the superheroes will have a place of choice. More than ever, the saviors of humanity (not only) spawn their way on US networks, but also on the SVOD platforms . Moreover we learned there is little that Luke Cage was renewed by Netflix for season 2 to delight fans of the series. But then, what are the next shows to discover and follow? Reply now!
Obviously, the CW series is a must. Kara Zor-El was back last night in the United States, Barry Allen is going to make his comeback tonight, Oliver Queen and his Team will resume service tomorrow night and the legends of the future will continue to travel back in time from Thursday. Yes, it is finally the return of the series on the CW and my god it’s good ! And as we are super friendly, all the trailers of the first winter are to be discovered below.
Powerless
If DC Comics had a habit of offering dramas (including the four cities just above), it would seem that they now want to tempt themselves to comedy. Entitled Powerless, the new DC Comics will follow the daily employee of an insurance company in a world where superheroes exist. Their mission: to take care of the damage left behind after battles between Gentiles and villains, but also offer products to ensure the safety of Mr. and Mrs. everybody . Launched on 2 February on NBC !
Inhumans
After Agents of SHIELD (which took over on January 10), Marvel teamed up with ABC to offer its viewers the new Inhumans series. If the film should always take place (Vin Diesel), the show in 8 episodes should be launched between September and October in the United States.
Legion
On Feb. 8, the FX channel will launch Legion, a series from the X-Men universe. It follows the story of David Heller, the schizophrenic son of Pr. Xavier, a man suffering from mental illness since his teens . David will finally make a meeting with a patient in a psychiatric hospital that will make him realize that the voices and visions that he has could prove to be real … A very nice program that we look forward to discover! Not you ?
Iron Fist
After Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, Netflix will propose the first season of Iron Fist in a few months! The show will follow the adventures of Danny Rand who, after disappearing a few years, is seen returning to New York to fight the criminals who made it a corrupt city, thanks to his knowledge in kung-fu and the destructive power of his fist.
The Punisher
In the second season of Daredevil, fans were able to discover the Punisher who now has the right to his own series on Netflix. If no date has been set for the moment, the show will tell us the life of Frank Castle, haunted by the murder of his family. It then becomes a vigilante known in the underworld as the Punisher, which aims to fight against crime by any means necessary ! A series that looks violent and particularly dark. We love.
The Defenders
We have been waiting for it for ages and this year it will see the light! In The Defenders, Daredevil will assemble around him a superhero team consisting of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in order to protect New York from a terrible threat … 8 episodes will compose this first season and the shoot ‘ Is being held this fall in New York. Which series do you expect the most?
The post Arrow, Iron Fist, Powerless, The Flash, Legion … The series of superheroes expected in 2017! first appeared on The Siver Times.

Did he held the bet? The editorial of melty you to discover without further delay, criticism of episode 8 of Season 5 of Arrow . This 100th episode opens with Oliver running around not to Lian Yu but to his childhood home where he found his fiancee … Laurel! It’s good to see Katie Cassidy and the Lauriver couple! Meanwhile, Cisco meets Team Arrow and manages to see where inmates Oliver, Sara and the others. He then proposed to hack some of the Dominators of the vessel in season 5 of Arrow. As for Oliver and Thea, they are surrounded by their parents, very proud of them. Oliver found to have reflexes when he did not suspect vessel overturns. For its part, Laurel Sara found that when touching the collar of his sister representing a black canary has an electric shock.
Later, Oliver and his father are attacked on the street. Oliver opposes the malefactor before he was saved by the Green Arrow. Laurel fiance begins having flashes of the sinking then his injured girlfriend . For their part, wanting to decrypt a message of Dominators, Cisco, and Felicity Curtis detonate the piece of the ship. Hey, it does not smell good! Oliver found Quentin to the police. By discovering photos of “The Hood” , he flashes of him while Sara Green Arrow and Ray have the impression of having already met. Oliver is the Green Arrow who is none other than Diggle. The character of Stephen Amell defended by proving they know and also recognizes Felicity. He understands that this perfect life is not her own in season 5 of Arrow . Thea, too, ends up having flashes of his dead mother. Oliver finds Laurel and admits he loves her and wants to be with her but they are interrupted by Diggle who vaguely remembers the aliens when suddenly appear and attack Deathstroke. Sara comes to end not knowing how she is capable of such precision. Eventually all remember being abducted but Thea does not want to return to reality. She thinks that this perfect life is perhaps a reward for their sacrifices .
Oliver, Sara, Ray and Diggle are attacked by Malcolm and all the wicked of Arrow but manage to beat them alongside … Thea. While all are preparing to leave, the Laurel stops. Sara has a chance to say goodbye and Oliver told her he loves her. Before returning to him, Oliver sees holograms Robert, Moira, Tommy Roy, Laurel and Felicity. A moving scene that celebrates the first 99 episodes of Arrow . All wake up, eventually escape, but the aliens attack. Fortunately, Nate manages to find the time with the ship. Gideon then decrypts the message of the Dominators, “We are nearing the completion of the gun” . The whole team realizes that the mother ship is heading straight for Earth! The 100th episode of Arrow lived up to our expectations and offered us everything we ever wanted. Emotions, suspense, perfectly choreographed fights, all the ingredients of a very good episode were réunsi . We enjoyed seeing all the familiar faces back in the series. The fact that Thea hesitate to stay in this situation sounds very fair, it would be strange none have broken heart to leave this perfect life. Just a little regret, not having seen Laurel fight dressed as Black Canary, but after all that Laurel was an illusion. Appointment they give you, tonight, with Legends of Tomorrow for the 4th and final part of DC Comics crossover series. In the meantime, see if Roy Harper could be back in Prometheus in season 5 of Arrow. Meltynautes then, what did you think of the episode 8 of Season 5 of Arrow?
The post Arrow, The Flash, LoT, Supergirl: Episode 8 Sara and Oliver say goodbye to Laurel, our criticism of the 3rd part of the crossover! first appeared on The Siver Times.

In this Wednesday, November 16th, I’ll meet you for a new chronicle after a month of absence. I’m sorry not to have honored our appointment but to be honest, part of my world just collapsed. But once back on what unites us and makes us vibrate: the playoffs. And this week, I decided to be interested in Supergirl. Recently transferred to the CW , the series has offered a sacred turning landing on the network that already coexist Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow. If the show is a joyful and effective natural, it took several episodes to convince me . During the first season, I must admit that I had the feeling that the characters were not developed enough. I can understand that the purpose of the writers was to introduce the Kara superhero but sometimes I wish we discover Kara short.
For if all the protagonists who populate National City were very friendly, I could not rid myself of the impression that remained sadly at each surface without taking the time to further explore their inner self. Yet on paper, we must admit that there are many similarities between Supergirl and The Flash and that is why the crossover had been so successful at the time. And as you guessed now, Barry Allen and his team, they are a bit my weaknesses and my immoderation . So yes, there are similarities but where The Flash was a past master in the art of make us feel exactly what felt his heroes, Supergirl still had difficulties allow us to attach ourselves to his characters.
But over the episodes and the season progressed, there really had better until the second chapter downright well done. So far, I imagined Supergirl was certainly the DC Comics series smoother and less quick to try new things. I was quite wrong because in the space of only six episodes, Supergirl was surprised, delighted, enchanted by its ability to reinvent itself and make its weaknesses genuine strengths . Let us first revisit the arrival of Superman that was widely criticized by some fans . Indeed, the cast of Tyler Hoechlin was annoyed because it came too early in a series that had yet to prove its potential. How not to crush the frail Kara Danvers with an emblematic icon of Comics? Why then do so as soon as the show is now invited on the CW? Against all-odds, the result was a balance between effective development of the intrigues of Clark Kent and the prominence deserved heroine of the show. In addition, the chain made the wise choice to make it a recurring regular character and not leaving the spotlight to that logically the main protagonist of National City. Without frustrating the followers of Superman and Supergirl satisfying fans of the show showed he could be bold while being measured and intelligent.
But this is not the only asset of this second season that stands out for the exploration of a plot as strong as shocking, the coming-out of Alex. As we know, the comics do not often highlight love stories linking two people of the same sex and even now hard to imagine that a production would take the liberty to imagine a Green Arrow or Flash gay. However, Alex is still a very strong character in the series who has strong links with heroin. This is a real step forward for television which is still struggling to let each grow regardless of sexual preference. Let it be said, Supergirl is strong and gives us a realistic plot, moving and judiciously interpreted by Chyler Leigh . But the series does not stop there and also undertakes introducing Mon-El and leaving aside the iconic relationship that is supposed to exist in the comics. So yes, it is true that the fans of the first hour like to retain the basic storylines but still admit that the chemistry between Jimmy and Kara was very limited . And we’ll still say I’m a fangirl but I much prefer the relationship develops between Mon-El and Kara! Similarly and as Cat Grant was probably one of the favorite characters from the fans, the writers have achieved a master stroke by making us almost forget she was gone. More twists, more introspective, more hilarious characters, the show found its stride and fills us with pleasure a little more every Monday . In short, Supergirl impresses me so she does not hesitate to challenge themselves and to build its own identity so that she is somewhat become the sunshine of my week preparing me with delight new episodes The Flash. Between good humor Kara Alex sensitivity, humor Winn, loyalty James and clumsiness of Mon-El, it is not far from reaching the summits.
That’s it for me meltynautes! I’ll meet you on 30 November for a new column and by then, take care of you <3 And you, what do you think of Supergirl?

Last night the US channel The CW aired episode 5 of season 2 Supergirl. Then discover our critique of “Crossfire.”

The episode 5 of season 2 Supergirl is full of humor and surprises including the character of Alex. Since the arrival of Maggie, it is clear that the spark between the two women and we even could feel the disappointment of Alex when she learned that Maggie was a couple in the last episode. There, we learn that she has been dumped, and Alex tries all means to cheer her up. Finally, this relationship developed with Maggie will push Alex to ask questions about his sexuality and his attraction to women. In a very touching speech, she told her new friend that she never found her happiness by dating men and the relationship they share makes her question now . Alex is perhaps not yet ready to realize the extent of his feelings, but it is undeniable that the two women have a chemistry and a strong bond. We are delighted that the CW has chosen to explore this kind of intrigue for Alex, because we love her character and this allows it to be more emphasized.

Meanwhile, Kara is trying to initiate Mon-El to human life. Makeover, new identity, new work, “Mike” is now an assistant at CatCo and the least we can say is that it is very different from the wise Kara. Again, the two characters are going to disagree, and that is by talking with Kara Alex will realize that it can not force Mon-El to be like her and that he must find his own way in this unknown world for him. The dynamic that develops between them is really interesting and we can not wait to see how will evolve their relationship. Moreover, James Olsen was finally back on the center stage after being very absent this season. We discover that he has a secret ambition: to become a vigilante . But now, he has no superpowers and Winn warns as it is a highly dangerous pastime, despite his black belt in karate.

Finally, Winn includes arguments that motivate James to want to do something to defend the residents of National City and then it will make him an outfit capable of protecting it. The Guardian born gradually before us … Finally, actions Lena Luthor us to believe that it could eventually be much better than his brother Lex. In fact, it was she who saved everyone the attackers from the Project CADMUS and we must admit we hope to see her interact with Winn. So even an episode of Supergirl as we liked, especially because it shows us a superhero character with flaws that sometimes judge people too quickly Furthermore, the secondary characters are not left to side and it’s nice to see that each in its own plot. We just wonder where was J’onn … Until next week, know that you can already read the synopsis 7 of season 2 Supergirl . What did you think of this episode?
The post Supergirl Season 2: Episode 5, the first fruits of the Guardian, our criticism first appeared on The Siver Times.
