We often hear that young people watch more series than films. Except for those stories there, whose format has evolved the other way.
Nothing is lost, everything is transformed ! On the one hand, the matter is already there, we agree. The plot, the characters, their links, the important events … Nevertheless, the writing is not the same, between a series composed of multiple episodes and a good feature film in one go. We’ll have to ask the guys who dealt with these transitions to find out more. In any case, to say that one watches only series is exaggerated and one proves it by showing the examples where we look at cinematographic versions of what our parents were watching on TV .
Scooby-Doo
Distributed from 1969 to 1970 on CBS, the original series “Scooby-Doo, where are you?” Had introduced the four adolescent hunters of supernatural mysteries, aboard their van. The Brady Tribe (The Brady Bunch in VO)

Trapped (Iceland)
There is much talk about Scandinavian detective novels, here is another part of this same talent with this Icelandic series composed of ten episodes of 52 minutes. Broadcast on France 2 last year, as a bonus, this one deserved well this honor. The plot takes place in a small port village where a body is found mutilated . Logically, the whole story before has been thought, narrated, to come to this conclusion. So when it stinks, you’re rather disappointed.
“The important thing is not the fall, it’s the landing” , as this phrase says in “La Haine”. As for these TV series, the landing proved to be catastrophic. In the sense that you have the unpleasant impression that he was not well prepared, anticipated, “that one had to finish in a way then hop one sways that and it is good” … No. Unfortunately, this is not good. Weeds
Written by Jenji Kohan (also behind “Orange is the new black”), the series detonated and cardboard. The Sopranos
Typical debates and criticism that causes an open end. Some like, others hate. Here, in the end, we see Tony in a very banal restaurant, with his family. Repeating a story and continuing it at any cost, in one way or another, rarely remains a good idea. These series have confirmed this.
They almost missed all our good memories. We began to get excited, to see our nostalgia replaced by a kind of visceral disgust, and it was going to eat us from the inside. We do not say thank you to those responsible for these failed reboots. But thanks to those who promptly canceled and arrested them.
Heroes Reborn
At the beginning of the original, in 2006, the subject and the universe were unique, different. Which is a challenge today.
