When you hold a chicken with golden eggs, it would be a joke not to enjoy it. It’s a bit of Disney’s credo , which intends to use the vein of live-action for several more years. With the record revenues of “Malefique” , “Cendrillon” , “Le Livre de la Jungle” and recently “La Belle et la Bete” , the firm with big ears planche on a multitude of adaptations of its famous catalog of drawings Animated . In short, get ready, live-action is coming …
Mulan
Disney has been working on the screenplay since 2015, in collaboration with director Niki Caro, who announced a much more “adult” version compared to the original work. To avoid any accusation of “whitewashing”, the casting will be mainly composed of actors of Asian origin . Exit scheduled for 2 November 2018.
The Lion King
It’s Jon Favreau, the director of Iron Man , but also of the recent live-action of the “Book of the Jungle” , which is to the controllers of this project, certainly the most awaited by the fans of Disney skepticism). If it can reassure them, no human will be present in the film, all the animals will be reproduced by synthetic image . Expected release date for 2019.
Dumbo
After “Alice in Wonderland” , Tim Burton will tackle another monument in the Disney catalog. He will be accompanied again on this project by the frenchie Eva Green (after “Dark Shadows” and “Miss Peregrine” ). As for the screenplay, it was entrusted to Ehren Kruger, who worked on the trilogy “Transformers”. Cars that are transforming, elephants flying, it’s kind of the same delirious you’ve seen. Expected release in 2018.
Merlin the wizard
It is Bryan Cogman, one of the authors / producers of “Game of Thrones” , who actively works on the script of this remake, probably centered around the youth of King Arthur . Fantasy fans should take their eyes full. Expected release for 2018.
Mary Poppins
For once, “Mary Poppins Returns” is not a remake but rather a result of the 1964 movie with Emily Blunt in the lead role and Rob Marshall as director ( “Chicago” , “Pirates of the Caribbean 4” . ..). The adaptation must land for Christmas 2018.
Aladdin
As for “The Lion King” , one touches here one of the most popular works of the universe Disney. And it is Guy Ritchie ( “Snatch” , “Sherlock Holmes” , “RocknRolla” …) that it is the heavy task of carrying Aladdin and all the smala on the big screen. Again, to avoid the pitfall of “whitewashing”, the casters are looking for actors with “the Middle East type” . The release date is still unknown.
One night on Mount Bald
There is absolutely no dishonesty on Disney’s side, which will adapt “One Night on Bald Mountain” , a segment that lasts 10 minutes in “Fantasia”, in a 2-hour movie. Not to frighten producers Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, who have already worked on fantasy / horror works before ( “Dracula Untold” and “The Last Witch Hunter” ). Release date unknown.
Winnie the Pooh
Rather reserved for children, the film will be interested in the character of Jean-Christophe grown up, and who will retrieve his stuffed Winnie . A project entrusted to Marc Foster ( “Quantum of Solace” , “World War Z” …) and which should see the day running 2018.
James and Giant Fishing
Roald Dahl’s literary work, already adapted as a stop motion in 1996, will have a new life in 2018, rather unknown to the general public . And it is neither more nor less than Sam Mendes ( “Skyfall” , “The Paths of perdition” …) which will be the real ‘of this ambitious project.
The little Mermaid
Prepare not for one remake, but for two. Besides Disney, which is hot on the record, Universal has been active for a while already on a live adaptation of “The Little Mermaid” , Sofia Coppola having a time participated in the project, before retiring due to “creative disputes” . Nothing has yet leaked on the Disney version, except that it will be produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Pinocchio
For the moment, here is material to make a good live-action, and it is already several years that the project is considered by Disney. It would still be at the stage of the script, entrusted to Peter Hedges , known for his taff on “The funny life of Timothy Green” or “Gilbert Grape” .
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
No, you will not be entitled to an umpteenth adaptation of “Snow White” . Disney will indeed bet on … his sister, Rose-Rouge. With one of the bows of the Grimm brothers’ tale still never operated by Mickey’s company . The screenplay was entrusted to Evan Daughtery, already roamed to the exercise thanks to his work on “Snow White and the Hunter” .
Cruella
That no one moves: EMMA STONE was chosen to embody the biggest scoundrel of the “101 Dalmatians” . I repeat, Emma Stone was … in short you will have understood, this amazing (and sexy) choice aims above all to rejuvenate the character, history to discover the origins of the evil, in this film centered on his character . Nothing to do so with the 1996 live-action that featured Glenn Close. On the real side, it’s Alex Timbers who will stick to it. Expected release in 2019.
Peter Pan
It is already the remake of “Peter and Eliot the Dragon” . David Lowery is now riveted on the live-action of “Peter Pan” , which will try to do as well as the “Hook or the revenge of the Captain Hook” of Steven Spielberg.
Tinkerbell
But that’s not all, “La Fée Tinkerbell” will also be entitled to his own film. And we already know that it is Reese Whiterspoon that will slip into the pretty green suit .
The post Open your eyes, here are all Disney movies that are going to have a remake in live-action first appeared on The Siver Times.

Some insist that the essential thing is to be cited, at the center of attention. No matter what. These films prove that it is better to avoid scandals anyway.
A bit like the concept of notoriety in marketing and advertising to excess. All that matters is to impose the brand name in people’s minds, as the name comes out automatically. What remains a risky bet, in terms of results. These films, whether voluntarily or not, have experienced it. Which turned out to be rather unfortunate.
Galoche and spouses cocus in “Snow White and the hunter”
That actors and other members of the shoot get caught, it happens. Everyone knows it, it’s part of the folklore, limit. It’s almost a surprise when nothing happens. But hey, there is a minimum … There both were maqued and had to grill to cheese. Actress Kristen Stewart was in a couple with Robert Pattinson, director Rupert Sander married with two kids . Public apology, declaration of love respective with their spouses … then separation not long after. Oops, a little scandal that overshadowed the film.
White everywhere to have more money in “Exodus Gods and Kings”
First problem: Ridley Scott did not hire any Egyptian actor, which vexed some and surprised others, for a question of coherence, given the story. Alas, it could have happened. Except that the justifications were worse. The director has plainly explained that it was better not to have actors named Mohammed xx of xx to see his film financed as he wants and can, to the maximum. For the moment, it was in Spain. So, do you have to take the “right” actors to get the taxes, etc?
The death of the main actor in “The Crow”
The stupid accident. Very stupid. A scene had to be shot where Michael Masse was shooting Brandon Lee, almost at close range, in the chest. Obviously, with a forgery, respecting rules, etc. Except that there was a mistake, that the false gun was a real one and that it was badly cleaned . So the blank cartridge sent out real cartridge debris and Lee was taken away by losing a few liters of blood. And he stayed there …
The helicopter crash and the drama in “Twilight Zone: the movie”
Vic Morrow was a renowned actor and was logically called to participate in this film with large budget. Playing a guy who travels through time and observing the various wars, he had to play a scene where he saved two children. Helping them cross a river, pursued by a helicopter and surrounded by explosions. Poor tuning, an explosion was too close to the helicopter that was embossed on the actors … Morrow and a kid were beheaded, the other drowned. Fucking, horrible. Director Jon Landis has seen his career take a turn after that.
The White man saves the other incapables in “The Great Wall”
A bit like in Exodus, turning a lot of whites when it is not coherent is a little embarrassing. But there was diversity, fortunately. Asian actors took their place, normal. Except that the savior, bah it was Matt Damon . Very white. From classic to what, the white man who saves other ethnicities. And bad publicity for the film.
The hacking of Sony Data in “The Interview”
James Franco and Seth Rogen had rather us accustomed to jokes not eggs and comedies unpretentious. Which also has its success, quiet. This time, they were aiming higher, without perhaps realizing it. With their comedy where they plan to have Kim Jong-Un assassinated, they upset North Korea and hackers. Threatening to cause cinema and other retaliation have discouraged Sony, so the film came out in very few rooms, few people have seen it (except by downloading it) and its reputation is limited to this story. Have you seen any of these, or have you limited yourself to scandal?
The post In fact, it’s not always good to make the headlines for a film first appeared on The Siver Times.

While they had (largely) taken over Reims for their first game of melty Basketball League, supported by Caisse d’Epargne , Lilloises Strasbourgeoises and found themselves this Thursday, February 2 in Alsace with certainty to contest the quarter-finals The complete. But for the honor, the first place of the chicken was at stake in the Center Sports Sud Sud. Unfortunately for the locals, they could not count on their usual strength, affected by injuries and absences. Under these conditions, the daughters of Aurianne Lux, captain and coach of the Alsatian group, never managed to get rid of the hold of the Nordists during the meeting. Starting with a first quarter-time hook that turned to the advantage of Lille (21-25). A trend confirmed at half time with a comfortable lead in favor of the visitors (33-45).
Touched but not cast, the Strasburgers then released a third quarter more solid by showing a better address in the racket, to return in the game (51-60). But led by a Victoria Ricart always at ease from afar (12 points), the Lilloise ended in a trombe to offer a net success (60-79). A result that allows them to finish at the head of the pool, ahead of their opponents of the day. “We would like to develop this group of players , said Cyril Bestali, the northerner coach. We’re here to have fun together even though Strasbourg was not full, it is always good to take for confidence. My players Are mature and I was able to run at the end to save everyone. ” One thing is certain, we will find these two formations in the quarterfinals of the meltyBasketball League.
Mr. Baumann (14 points) : Best scorer of his team, has maintained Strasbourg in the match, before being relayed by P. Fuchs (7 points) in the role of Scout in the game.
L. Laroche (13 points) and C. Dubois (13 points) have adequately insured their shots to allow Lille to race ahead. I. El Garti (6 points) has meanwhile been speaking his beautiful vision of the game.
The post Melty Basketball League: Lille 2 strikes a great shot in Strasbourg (60-79)! first appeared on The Siver Times.

While the year 2016, particularly cruel for the world of artists (David Bowie, Prince, Alan Rickman, Anton Chekhov), ends, a new tragic death has marked our daily lives. Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia unforgettable Star Wars, died last Tuesday following a heart attack, leaving behind generations of orphans fans. If it is crossed in movies or cult series like When Harry Met Sally or Sex and the City , of course, is for his role in Star Wars that we remember most of Carrie Fisher. The iconic Leia Organa remains today one of the most famous fictional heroines – and celebrated – our culture , recognizable by its macaroons in the hair which the actress, with his usual irony, never stopped To make fun of. Today as before, we love Princess Leia for her courage, her determination, her sharp tongue too. So much so that the find in The Force Wake – certainly exhausted by decades of fighting and separated from the love of her life, Han Solo – we even had deeply moved. So in order to pay him homage, the editing of melty returns to the course of this absolutely mythical character.
Frail white silhouette with upright chin, standing straight in front of Dark Vador … this is how we discover for the first time Leia Organa, Princess of Alderaan and leading figure of the Rebel Alliance. And in a scene, you soon realize that this little girl is not only courageous and determined but she also knows how to stand up to men, even the most powerful . And in the late 1970s, marked by the increasingly powerful rise of feminism, it is not nothing. Moreover, Princess Leia, despite her title of nobility, is far from being a damsel in distress, as are presented at the time all female characters of this kind. So Luke, Han and Obi-Wan try to save her from the clutches of Darth Vader, who subjects her to torture, but we all know how it ends. In the end, it is Leia who takes command of the group and allows them to escape the Stormtroopers who took them in ambush! ” As of now, you will do what I tell you, understand? ” Balance does indeed a Han Solo a bit grumpy.
It is clear, Leia does not depend on anyone, especially a man . Not only does she shoot at the blaster but, in addition, she directs the Rebellion, a leadership role that is then often devolved to male characters. So in 1977, Leia shakes up all the codes and throws the stereotypes to the nettles! But if she is also independent and proud, it may be because she failed, for a time, to be the main heroine of the intergalactic saga. Because yes, before changing his mind and creating the character of Luke, George Lucas had planned to place a woman in the role of the main protagonist. Then the director thought of telling the story of two brothers but, faced with the lack of female characters, then chose to transform one of them into a woman. That may be why Leia has inherited this little boy missed and determined!
And Leia obviously remains true to itself throughout the trilogy , sending stroll with many scathing remarks that Han presumptuous who thinks necessary – before falling under his spell – taking the lead each time Necessary and fighting the Empire with all its energy. The couple she forms with Han is also particularly atypical. Between two well-placed gates, Leia lets see a little of her femininity, as in this poignant scene where she is doomed to see the man she likes to be cryogenized. We all remember this bit of dialogue that summarizes all by himself the relationship of the two characters: ” I love you ,” she said as Han, who replied: ” I know .” No romanticism, there is no time for it! But it is once again that Leia in Return of the Jedi did everything to save the trapped smuggler in its matrix of carbonite in Jabba’s palace, without anyone’s help. If it fails, in the end, to implement its plan, it proves once again to what extent it is determined.
And then there’s the bikini. Ah, he has made ink, this costume two pieces gilded! Representation of male fantasy for some or, conversely, means to be free of human domination for others, we can say that this outfit – the most iconic Star Wars – is kind of controversial. This is Carrie Fisher, which we showed you a few photos of the filming of Star Wars , transformed into a sex symbol, almost reified in the role of a submissive slave to the desires of a large larva of space. And yet! In spite of this bikini which reveals (almost) everything and which could symbolize its vulnerability, Leia loses nothing of its impetuosity. Is it not, after all, that chokes Jabba during the battle on the barge in Episode VI, echoing his freedom and marking, symbolically, the emancipation of women? At least it is in this way that one can understand this brutal scene but oh so satisfactory (because one agrees, eh, we hate ALL Jabba the Hutt)!
Princess with a well-tempered character and who can not be told by anyone, Leia went through decades, joining Wonder Woman or Ellen Ripley in the pantheon of the iconic female figures of pop culture. Sure, after thirty years of fighting, our heroine took a few wrinkles and lost his androgynous figure but his energy has not faded . In The Force Alarm , Leia continues to fight for what she believes, endorsing the title of General of the Resistance, as if to erase her femininity even after his personal and family life ended in pieces. But she remains that princess we loved so much in the first Star Wars trilogy, which made us laugh as much as she moved us, and whose fascinating aura did not falter. His interpreter has bent his bow, Leia is not ready to disappear from our lives. Although some of us wondered sadly will look like the future of the Star Wars saga without Carrie Fisher and incredible character. Come on, it’s time for us to plunge back into the first trilogy and fall, for the umpteenth time, under the spell of this unforgettable princess of the stars. What scene of Leia do you prefer?
The post Carrie Fisher aka Princess Leia in Star Wars, back on this mythical character first appeared on The Siver Times.
