Summer is coming and it’s time to take stock of renewals and cancellations already confirmed for your favorite series – and the others!
The weeks pass and the episodes also, to the point that several series are already about to reach their end. But before the summer hiatus actually begins, we offer you a short summary of the status of certain series that have either been renewed, canceled or are still pending . Obviously it is complicated to list absolutely all series of cable, networks and services of VOD also we offer a small selection and we invite you, if you want, to share your infos in the comments below on the Missing series.
ABC
Shonda Rhimes’s TGIT – Thank God It’s Thursday – will continue to make us dream on Thursday night as How to Get Away with Murder has been renewed for a season 4 while Gray’s Anatomy will also have a season 14 and Scandal one season 7 . The Catch has not yet been released, but it may be that the last installment of the Thursday trilogy is about to be canceled after its second season. There is no news yet for Designated Survivor even though, according to TVLine, a season 2 is likely, just like Once Upon A Time which should be entitled to a season 7. Agents of SHIELD is still pending, Like Quantico .
CBS
On CBS, Sheldon, Leonard and the entire band of The Big Bang Theory will return for a season 11 and 12 while the Good Wife spin-off , The Good Fight , will continue on CBS Access for a second season. Season 7 of 2 Broke Girls is still in suspense as is the spin-off of Criminal Minds, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders . The original series was renewed for a season 13. As some already know, Person of Interest was canceled while Madam Secretary will return soon for a season 4.
FOX
On the FOX, Empire and Lucifer were officially renewed. This is not the case for Gotham whose fate remains uncertain, nor for Prison Break whose revival has just begun . As for Scream Queens , doubts are allowed. On the other hand, as announced recently, X-Files will officially return for a season 11 . The spin-off 24: Legacy – for which Heath has somewhat disappeared from The Walking Dead – will be lucky if he gets a second season but fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine should not be disappointed since the series should be renewed For a season 5. The first season of the Exorcist with Geena Davis has not really convinced, so her fate remains in suspense, as is that of New Girl . Finally The Simpson continues its course with a renewal for 2 seasons that will bring it up to a season 30.
NBC
NBC’s various series are on track, including Chicago Fire, Chicago Justice, Chicago Med and Chicago PD . After an undeniable success, This Is Us has already been renewed for 2 seasons while Grimm has not had this chance and has recently finished . The comedy The Good Place has also been renewed for a season 2 despite its weak audiences while for Blindspot , things remain uncertain. If the Blacklist is likely to have a fifth season, chances are thinner for the Blacklist: Redemption spin-off whose first season has not completely convinced.
The CW
The teen shows still have bright future on the CW because against all odds, The 100 has been renewed for Season 5 – we hope to be the last – just like Arrow which will have its season 6, Legends of Tomorrow (season 3), The Flash (season 4) and Supergirl (season 3). On the musical side, the excellent Crazy Ex-Girlfriend will return for a season 3 while Jane the Virgin has already been renewed for a season 4 . Fans already know, The Vampire Diaries has ended and the fate of its spin-off The Originals remains in suspense in full broadcast season 4 .
AMC
On the cable, AMC obviously already renewed The Walking Dead for a season 8 that will start with the 100th episode of the series. The prequel Fear The Walking Dead has also been renewed even before the release of Season 3 while Better Call Saul is pending for a season 4 while season 3 has recently started. Into the Badlands will return for a season 3 and Halt and Catch Fire has also been renewed for a final season.
FX / FXX
On FX and FXX, the anthologies of Ryan Murphy still have beautiful years ahead as American Horror Story was renewed for seasons 8 and 9 while American Crime Story secured its seasons 2, 3 and 4. The Americans will return it For the last two seasons and will end in 2018 while Feud and Legion have both been renewed.
HBO
The success of the adaptation of the novel Liane Moriarty Big Little Lies has not yet led to a season 2 – which would not be worse – while the biggest success of HBO will end soon as Game of Thrones Has more than 2 seasons to offer us . However renewals are many: A Series of Unfortunate Events , Black Mirror, Bloodline, The Crown, Daredevil, Grace and Frankie, Jessica Jones, Luke Cake, Narcos, The OA Orange is the New Black, Santa Clarita Diet and Stranger Things Will all have a follow-up that will soon be released for some. The very merry Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt arrives for his third season on May 19 while we will be able to find Frank Underwoord in season 5 of House of Cards on May 30.
And the others…
Finally for the series on the other channels, know that Bates Motel finished for good on A & E not long ago and that Orphan Black will return on the BBC America for a fifth and last season . On CMT, Nashville recently won a season 6 while the seventh and final season of Pretty Little Liars is broadcast on Freeform. On History, Vikings was renewed and on Hulu The Mindy Project got a new season that will be the last. On the USA Network, Mr Robot and Suits have both been renewed while on Starz, Black Sails has just finished and Outlander will return for seasons 3 and 4.

Under the California sun, everything is allowed, especially when it comes to our first adventure in Coachella . With its survival kit to live the festival thoroughly, the editor of melty was finally ready to go at two-thirty (without counting the endless traffic jams) of Los Angeles to get lost among the hundreds of palm trees in Indio. This is the year that takes place the most Cool festival of the planet: Coachella . So how’s that in real life? Are your favorite celebrities getting into selfie right next to you in incognito mode? Which artists should not be missed in 2017? Coachella in real life from the United States, melty is there at the moment and we tell you the first day ultra intense that ”
First impressive impression from our arrival at Indio: it makes very very very (very) warm. After driving for hours in the traffic jam, retrieving our pass, driving another 30 minutes to the Empire Polo Club, walking 2-3 miles and passing a lot of security gantry, we finally arrive in paradise … Sorry to Coachella. The photos were not misleading, the place is really incredible with its wheel placed at the entrance of the festival, dozens of small tents, modern architecture and especially its already boosted atmosphere. It is as if once the last barriers have passed, festival-goers from all over the world could be themselves. For all those who are music fans like us, Coachella is the ultimate pilgrimage, unrealizable dream, The paradisiacal place par excellence . And with the 2017 programming, despite the last minute cancellation of PNL , our coming was even more exciting!
Once the different scenes of Coachella are appropriate (thanks to the plan especially), one decides to make of input the unique experience proposed this year by HP: The Antarctic. True visual immersion, we see ourselves evolving in extraordinary universes for 3-4 minutes. At least it was done! Disappointed to have missed Sampha (again the fault of the plugs), we console ourselves seeing the time pass that announces the beginning of the concert of Mac Miller . In the middle of the crowd, we take our first American bath between the smoke and the sweat of the hyperactive fans. And thin, we should have put on other sneakers if we had known that the rapper would repeat “Jump” at least twenty times during his live. Warmed up by the concert, we then headed to the Outdoor Theater to see La Flame. We’re talking about Travis Scott, who is currently exploding in the US (we only hear him, Drake and Kendrick over there on the radio). If the beginning of the concert is laborious (autotune, its not terrible) scenography catches up and the rapper’s usual energy spreads in the burning crowd. Twenty minutes later, we do not get what’s going on, but it gets completely crazy. Taking his hits “90210” , “Mamacita” , “Pick Up The Phone” and the final “Goosebumps” , Travis Scott also allows himself to climb a giant eagle (ridiculous and brilliant) where he takes advantage to impose his ego . Will it be the US rapper mellor in the making? We ask ourselves the question, so it’s a good sign (even if Kendrick Lamar who could release a new surprise album flies very far). Just after, we see the end of the Empire Of The Sun concert, just in time to hear the timeless “Walking On A Dream” and another cool title to finish the set. The atmosphere gets refreshed, fatigue comes but we find the energy to see the mythical Radiohead on the big stage of the festival. And it is the drama: no sound comes out of the scene. To hear people talk about us, it’s been several times that it happens in a few minutes. Harsh blow: Radiohead will not even be able to sing a song in its entirety for its audience (without realizing it) after full of unpleasant noises coming from the amps. A break is necessary, to better return with a Thom Yorke very captivating. We ended the first day with the cool DRAM and that was the best idea we had! In addition to her charisma, her voice and her grooves, Big Baby is funny on stage. We all liked his set (very short because of a delay): buttocks rebounded scattered on the screens in his way to move up obviously his tube “Broccoli” was the concert we needed To finish the day perfectly. We often hear that young people watch more series than films. Except for those stories there, whose format has evolved the other way.
Nothing is lost, everything is transformed ! On the one hand, the matter is already there, we agree. The plot, the characters, their links, the important events … Nevertheless, the writing is not the same, between a series composed of multiple episodes and a good feature film in one go. We’ll have to ask the guys who dealt with these transitions to find out more. In any case, to say that one watches only series is exaggerated and one proves it by showing the examples where we look at cinematographic versions of what our parents were watching on TV .
Scooby-Doo
Distributed from 1969 to 1970 on CBS, the original series “Scooby-Doo, where are you?” Had introduced the four adolescent hunters of supernatural mysteries, aboard their van. More than forty years later, in 2002, a film was released with Freddie Prinze Junior and Sarah Michelle Gellar in particular. Well, well, it was not crazy . The 1987 film, where the agent is incarnated by Kevin Costner and the mafioso Al Capone by Robert De Niro, made much better the very special functioning of the economy in this era. Critical and commercial success, the feature film even brought back a trophy for the best supporting role to Sean Connery . Let us confirm all the same the basis: the works were both based on the memories of Eliot Ness and Oscar Fraley.
The Brady Tribe (The Brady Bunch in VO)
The least known of the lot, no doubt! Also broadcast on American ABC between 1969 and 1974, this series showed our parents the hectic life of a family of six children, with its share of parallel or cross stories. A nice thing, which does not break three legs to a duck and will even be canceled after five seasons. Before being taken with humor in a parodic film and successful in 1995 . The creators have just played on the old school side of the series, amplified it, made fun of it, while including us in delirium.
Impossible mission
