The police conduct since Tuesday morning, some twenty of the searches at the expense of a large network of drug trafficking, whose strings would be pulled by the new leader’s alleged Hells Angels.

It is a criminal organization linked to “influential members” of the gang of bikers, including Mario Brouillette, who is targeted in this operation involving 130 officers from the Squad’s national crackdown on organized crime (ENRCO).

Last January 24, The Journal de Montréal reported that Mario Brouillette, once nicknamed “the Dauphin of Maurice ‘Mom’ Boucher” and that the police believe to be the new guiding spirit of the Hells, who is suspected of leading this network of traffickers present in Montreal and on the north shore.

The brigade conducts its second series of raids in as many months against the network, after the one conducted at the end of January where a jeweler’s shop in Repentigny had been visited.

    Suspect plugged in

In this second phase of the survey project called “Objection”, the ENRCO is especially interested in a businessman of Italian origin, she considers the alleged right arm of Mario Brouillette.

According to our information, the police believe that Carmelo Sacco Jr. is not only a near Brouillette and Hells but it also has links with the mafia and street gangs in Montreal.

According to our sources, Sacco has already been observed by the police in the company of big names in organized crime, including the former interim leader of the Italian mafia, Stefano Sollecito, before his arrest in November 2015.

Monday, Sollecito has been acquitted, at the same time that the son of the deceased godfather Vito Rizzuto, the lawyer Leonardo Rizzuto, charges of gangsterism and conspiracy leveled against them for over two years.

The judge Eric Downs has rejected the evidence of electronic surveillance that the accused, considering that the police had illegally recorded their conversations in the office of the lawyer Loris Cavaliere.

    Luxurious residence visited

Without antecedent judicial, Carmelo Sacco Jr. is not the subject of any charges in the draft Objection.

This morning, the police have however obtained a search warrant from a judge to go searching the area where he resides at Sainte-Adèle, in the Laurentians. A residence of well-to-do whose value exceeds one million dollars.

No arrests are expected during the operation Tuesday, said the sergente Ann Mathieu.

This phase of the survey aims mainly to collect evidence and confiscate weapons, drugs, computer equipment and documents of accounting.

Searches are performed in 17 residences and five businesses located in the regions of Montréal, Lanaudière and Laurentides.

The son of a member of Hells, Mario Brouillette was the youngest of Quebec to receive its “patches” of the motorcycle gang when he was only 23 years old, in 1995.

In 2015, after spending nine years behind bars for conspiracy to murder and importation of cocaine, the biker of 45 years, has regained his freedom after he claimed to authorities that he had left the Hells “on good terms”.

Even if the police no longer see in the gatherings of bikers, they consider, however, as the new “boss” of the gang or, at the very least, one of the most influential leaders of the gang at the present time.
