30 % of nurses and care professionals are considering leaving their jobs

    It is with alarming data in hand that the union representing the nurses and care professionals will meet with the minister of Health, Gaétan Barrette on Thursday morning in Montreal.

    According to a survey by the firm BENCHMARK carried out between 24 January and 5 February 2018 (with VAT News has obtained a copy), 30% of the members of the Federation interprofessional of the Health (FIQ) are considering to quit their jobs. In total, 653 nurses, practical nurses and respiratory therapists who were surveyed.

    The frustration is particularly acute among nurses in NURSING homes and in the auxiliary surgery, according to the stroke of the probe.

    Other data that comes from giving water to the mill of the FIQ : it gets a support undeniable of the population, based on a second survey conducted by the firm LEGER with 1006 persons from 20 to 23 February.

    In fact, 77 % of people surveyed feel that the care professionals have too many patients in their care, while 80 % say they agree with the idea of fixing, by law, a maximum number of patients a nurse can have responsibility.
