Assault causing injury: a young man receives 20-month detention

    A young man who gave a punch to his father-in-law by marriage, on December 24, 2016, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily harm and he received a total sentence of 20 months in detention.

    Emmanuel Garneau-Fréchette was 25 years ago. Of good stature, the man is to be feared at first glance, as it sports numerous tattoos of a violent nature, as evidenced by the brass knuckles that he wears on the right hand.

    Yet, according to his lawyer, mr. Simon Roy, the young man is more sensitive than he lets on see and he has kept the stigmata of the Christmas party which ultimately led to the death of the spouse of the mother of his wife.
