In the social network Instagram on the page of the office for the protection of wildlife in Amur region, the user Michael Lesyk put a video walking in the woods, in which he found unusual pine trees. Samples of needles were sent for examination.

According to the chief of the hunters of the Amur region, unusual needles of the pine trees was two times more and was notable for its “shaggy”. He compared the trees with cypress.

After seeing the pine trees took up the Amur botany. Already there are two versions of the adventures of the strange pine trees. One of them, the trees were removed by directed mutagenesis, perhaps crossing some wood. Another theory says about the possible damage to seedlings by caterpillars-hooverdam that ate the tops of young trees, which produced a “roundness” and “samobitnost” needles on top. To develop more versions, botany sent samples of trees to their counterparts in Europe.
