It helped to find out that around a black hole at its center there is a structure of dust and gas, and even to determine the speed of its rotation and composition, reports Rus.Media.

The study showed that its center is really a black hole, which absorbs matter with a powerful light emission. In addition, around it, is the circular cloud with a radius of 20 light years.

“Still, my colleagues could only assume that around black holes there are structures of gas and dust and form they resemble bagels; this assumption is called “a General model of active galactic nuclei”. However, the dimensions of these objects are very small compared with the distances from Earth to other galaxies, so to see one of them in detail, we were able only with high-resolution ALMA” – explains head of the research group, Masatoshi Mans from the National astronomical Observatory of Japan.

The astronauts continue to explore the galaxy M77, hoping to get new information about the “space” of the steering wheel and why the black hole at the center of the milky Way has other properties and will not affect him.
