Fire in LaSalle: several residents evacuated

A fire broke out in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, in a building of 28 housing in the borough of LaSalle, Montreal.
The fire was reported at about 1: 30 in the basement of the building on the rue Francoeur, near the corner of Newport.
Thirty tenants had to be evacuated. Some have been supported by the Red Cross. Two people have been taken care of by the paramedics and transported to the hospital after having been bothered by the smoke.
The flames were quickly controlled by firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
