Two dogs pitbulls were found dead Wednesday morning in the freezer of a house rented by a couple in their twenties, Magog in the eastern Townships. The police immediately launched an investigation for animal cruelty.
The horrific discovery took place at a residence in Stanley street. A young couple had rented this house in the month of December and had moved in with her six dogs.
“A few weeks ago, the couple left the house and returned there occasionally to feed partially animals, according to the survey,” said the lieutenant Sylvain Guay of the Régie de police de Memphrémagog.
But when the owner went to the residence that she rented, on Wednesday morning, the scene had been left in a pitiful state: feces and urine littered the floor and a freezer left on site contained the bodies of two dogs that are very emaciated.
The other animals were no longer in place.
The couple who rented the home has not yet been found by the police. The two suspects should be arrested for mischief and animal cruelty.
Damage to the interior of the house amounted to “several thousand dollars”, according to police.
