The government Couillard has filed his bill to modernize the legal regime of the liquor licence, wishing to allow now the presence of children on a terrace up to 23 hours.
Bill 170, introduced by the minister of public Safety, Martin Coiteux, has as its objective to modernize various legislative provisions relating to alcoholic beverages.

The minister wants to simplify the life of citizens and permit holders. Thus, the draft law allows the presence of minors on the terraces where it sells alcohol until 23h.
In addition, it will be possible to purchase alcohol in grocery stores as early as 7am in the morning.
Martin Coiteux said that he hoped that the draft law will be adopted before the summer and the tourist season. “It is something that we want to change (…) We want to innovate,” he said, arguing that the current Law dating back practically to the time of prohibition.
