Of rodent droppings littered the premises of the New Mondo Coffee until the edge of the pa system, have found the inspectors of the City of Montreal.
Coffee with shisha boulevard de l’acadie has been sentenced last October to a fine of $ 1,250 for the facts noticed by two inspectors during a visit in December 2015.
They found mouse droppings in several places in the trade, including inside the cabinets in which were stored the disposable tableware, one can read in their report.
“The presence of the feces of rodents [mice] so widespread and in large numbers in all the trade : preparation area before food, warehouse, toilet room and dining room,” they noted.
Bags consumed
Even a wardrobe, where were stored the cleaning supplies contained. Bags of sugar, a candy and another of couscous also had to be discarded during the visit since they had been gnawed by vermin.
For its part, the owner of the trade told the Newspaper that she had never received the fine in question.
The department of food Inspection of the City of Montréal has, however, indicated that the lawsuit had been served on the owner of the trade by means of a bailiff in September 2016 and that the fine had been upheld in court in the absence of the restorer of the New Mondo Coffee.
According to the owner, the situation has now been corrected, as confirmed by other inspectors during visits more recent. However, it has not been possible to verify these claims.
►It is necessary to wait several months after an offence for a judge to hear the case and make its award. The details of these judgments have been obtained as the result of a request for access to information.
