The leader of the official opposition in Ottawa, Andrew Scheer, argues that beyond jokes on the clothing worn by Justin Trudeau during his official visit to India in the last few days, “it is important to take into account the serious consequences of his journey”.

In a message posted on Facebook on Saturday night, the chief curator writes that the prime minister betrays the Canada on the international stage”.
“He has jeopardized our relations with what will soon be the most populous country in the world,” he said. It does not defend the interests of Canada. It does not solve trade irritants and it creates concerns about its commitment to tackle sikh extremism in Canada. It has not managed to ensure access without tariff to a market of over a billion people.”
Andrew Scheer returns in addition to the matter of the invitation be revoked by the after – event tour, Mr. Trudeau made to Jaspal Atwal, a resident of British Columbia who has been a member of a separatist organization, the sikh was declared illegal in Canada and who had been convicted of having wanted to kill an indian minister in the 1980s.
The case has created quite a commotion in India as well as in Canada and has made umbrage with the premier’s mission to India, all the more that Jaspal Atwal was able to attend a previous event of the visit of Mr. Trudeau. The prime minister has promised to resolve the matter next week with his deputy Randeep Sarai, who has already admitted to be the origin of the invitations made to Jaspal Atwal, while excusing themselves.
At the same time, according to what canadian media have reported, a high official in the canadian government, who wished to remain anonymous, has suggested in the wake of that odd that certain political elements in India may have orchestrated an invitation to Jaspal Atwal to make it look like the canadian government is sympathetic to sikh extremism. The manager in question has added that questions should be asked the indian government to learn how to Jaspal Atwal was able to enter India and be seen during the visit of Justin Trudeau.
According to Andrew Scheer, it is a matter of “serious charges against the indian government, which has major implications”.
“If Justin Trudeau and the government of Canada have evidence that a foreign government has intentionally tried to undermine Canada’s reputation on the international scene, or the reputation of the government here in Canada, the prime minister shall provide evidence supporting such an accusation.
“If this is the case, the prime minister must ensure that his advisor on national security presents the evidence that the indian government is in any way involved in the participation of Mr Atwal the canadian delegation. Otherwise, the prime minister should dispel any rumors of its own leaders.”
Mr. Scheer believes”it would be dangerously irresponsible for Justin Trudeau to make such an accusation against a foreign government only to divert attention from their blunders”.
