Ottawa: the special investigations Unit is investigating a shooting

OTTAWA-The special investigations Unit of Ontario (SIU) has announced the opening of an investigation after the death of a man of 25 years during a shooting involving a police officer, on Sunday evening in Ottawa.

According to preliminary information provided by the SIU and the Ottawa police service received a call at around 18: 45 p.m. indicating that a man armed with a knife was inside of a grocery store located on the avenue Carleton.

Upon their arrival, police quickly located the suspect nearby. During the intervention, the man of 25 years would have been reached by at least one projectile from a firearm.

He was transported to the hospital where his death was recorded.

The SIU has indicated support for an investigation, as is the case when police officers are involved.
