The Casino of Charlevoix and the Club de golf Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu will not be accessible during the G7 Summit, in June next.
The casino could be used for the needs of the media, but no decision has yet been announced.
According to the Office of summit management, the government of Canada and the Casino de Charlevoix are still in discussion regarding the use of the premises during the Summit. The discussions on this subject are still in progress, has also stated a spokesperson for Loto-Quebec.
Last November, the innkeepers premises had asked the question about the casino and the golf at an assembly of citizens. At this time, it seemed already clear that the premises would not be open to the public.
Citizens accredited
At the Summit, the 9000 citizens of La Malbaie will be accredited to be able to move normally and go about their usual activities. Levels of additional security will be added in towards the “perimeter hard” at the Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, a site entirely fenced, which includes the casino and the golf course.
The companies that will suffer negative impacts will be compensated by the canadian government.
The government promptly informed traders in the compensation program for loss of income.
