Couche-Tard announced on Friday evening its decision to withdraw the alcoholic beverage “FCKD UP” from its shelves.
This announcement comes after the discovery Thursday of the body of the young Athena Gervais in a creek located behind his high school in Laval.
In an interview with TVA News, a friend of the teenager had confided that they had consumed, in a group of alcoholic beverages over the lunch hour on the day of his disappearance.
It is possible that the containers have been stolen in a convenience store, according to what we have been able to learn.
“Following the events that occurred in the last hours, Couche-Tard has taken the decision to voluntarily withdraw from its shelves the alcoholic drink “FCKD UP”,” said the company in a press release.
“Although this product is quite legal for sale, acting responsibly is a way to do on a daily basis at the Couche-Tard and that is why such a decision has been taken today.”
A directive was sent to all stores to ensure that products are removed “immediately”.
