The research team from the Korean Institute of advanced technology (KAIST) has developed a hybrid power source to fully recharge which will take 20 to 30 seconds, reports Rus.Media.
Traditional batteries that function with electrolytes, have significant limitations in the speed of charging via the fact that they can not withstand the high voltage and rapidly begin to fail. In addition, used in their manufacture explosive organic solvents, which adversely affect their sustainability.
Professor Ching Ku Kang and his colleagues from the Higher school of energy KAIST thought out design that does not have the above disadvantages. They connected the fiber-like polymer chains and metal oxide, nanakamado on the surface of graphene. Graphene was chosen as the basis is no accident: its “mesh” structure increases the total area of your drive and gives it a higher capacity.
Battery capacity is determined by two electrodes, and the balance between the cathode and the anode makes the current more stable. To create the cathodes, the experts used a metal oxide in a sub-nanoscale structures – this allowed them to increase the speed of exchange of energy and to minimize its losses.

The hybrid device can be charged by a current that is 100 times greater than standard. For complete “saturation” it only takes 20-30 seconds, even when using low-power charging systems, such as a USB adapter or flexible solar cells. Thus, the innovative device not only withstands high voltage and has a long life cycle and, therefore, longer serve its owner.
According to the inventors, the drive is ideal for “fast” charge your portable mobile devices.
