Some medical specialists in Québec are entitled to a compensation in excess of $ 2 million, according to figures that VAT News has obtained a copy.

According to these official documents, seven of the ten doctors the best paid in the province pocketed more than $ 2 million in 2016.

The three specialists are the best paid work in Montreal. The two ophthalmologists took 2 233 985 and $ 2 223 363 dollar, while the surgeon completes the podium with a compensation of 2 170 244 $.

Radiologists and ophthalmologists working in the region to supplement the result of the classification. Five of the doctors the best paid work in ophthalmology, while four work in radiology.

“To the RAMQ to check the billing”

The Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ) has refused to react to these figures with the camera, but did send a response by email.

Citizens stunned

Citizens encountered by TVA Nouvelles denounced these important compensation. “This is unacceptable. In our world in Quebec, this is not acceptable at all. It is necessary to change absolutely our prime minister and our minister of Health,” shouted a man.

“This is ridiculous. It is theft”, has launched another citizen stunned and having knowledge of the figures.

An ophthalmologist told TVA News that the members of this specialty work in the operating room, but that the operations are of very short duration, so that doctors can make several, and inflate their revenues.
